1. thomann also sell one.

goes for about a fiver, but you'd have to factor the postage in to the equation.

i have one of the thomann ones and i find to be a very funtional piece of kit.

BTW, i must say that i have tried the mp3 case thing as well, but didn't work too well for me. I found that i couldn't do it up well enough to hold it - as I'm a pretty active monster when it comes down to it, and i didn't like running the risk of stomping on the transmitter!

  2. i'm a lefty as well, and play right handed.
not really for any reason other than i found it more comfortable that way. I now believe though that it is an advantage to have my stronger hand on the neck!

as a former music store employee, i know the difficulties of getting lefty instruments. it's not the shops that are the problem - it tends to be the manufacturers.

  3. i use the Nady VHF bass system mentioned before.

I find i get the EXACT same tone through this as with a good quality lead. I have never had any problems with it, and i regularly use it in halls with 500+ capacities. The sound guys are often that impressed with the signal that the EQ is switched out on the bass channel

Also, i had a go at a syb 5 yeasterday and is was not what i expected, i thought it would be better. The man in the shop then revealed to me that the expression pedal makes all the difference so naturally i asked him 'do you have one for me to use?' He said no. What a fool! lol
Hi Rob, the board is looking pretty cool.

i have to say that i love my blowtorch. once you find the sound you're after (which TBH didn't take me very long!) you'll love it. with the addition of the torch button on the side, you effectively have a two setting pedal, which increases it's versatility. Sits fantastically well in a band mix as well!

You must try the syb 5 with the expression pedal. it transforms the pedal totally. I have mine set up as for the "deeper underground" sound (once you add the octoplus to it)
Haha wow, never had the need for more than a footswitch for my amp. Nice and clean with the tinyest bit of reverb is the tone I use 99/9% of the time so can't imagine ever needing that many pedals. Do you lot use them ALL often or just a select few?
the pedals i find that are on all of the time are the Meatbox, and Hartke VXL. the others are used to provide soundscape type effects, and are like spices that are added to the mix to create ebb and flow.

one of my main gigs is a straight DI job with IEM, and the meatbox and VXL effectively become my backline so-to-speak!

Essentially, if it doesn't have a use - it doesn't go on the board

  6. I know it's not a popular choice, but i'll take my old DOD octoplus every time.

i have to agree with the comment about the ashdown octave though. I thought that it was one of the worst octave pedals I have heard IMO. Ironic really, as the sub function on their amps seems to work so well....

  7. I'm a fairly regular customer of theirs,
price is normally pretty competitive, although i won't buy anything that uses a wall wart, since it's a pain to convert!
delivery is usually quick, and complete. product is good, with any problems solved quickly and effectively.
