1. Excellent, thanks for that, exactly what i was hoping somebody would say!
2. I’m after a bit of feedback from anyone who has extensively used both the new (XO) and the older bass microsynths. I have used an old microsynth several times in the studio and utterly love it. The thing is, the old units are pretty rare these days, the bypass is terrible and they’re really big, with awkward power requirements. I know everyone says the new ones don’t sound as good, but how true is this really, is it a bit of the ‘cool’ factor of the older unit coming across, or is there a really noticeable difference? I want one on my board, and if the new pedal gets 90% of the way there sonically, then for live use that should be fine, right? (there is a vintage microsynth in the studio I use, I can still use that for recording!!) I may just pull the trigger on a new one from somewhere with a nice returns policy, in case I don’t get on with it, but just wanted to fish for some feedback if anyone has spent some reasonable time with both…
3.
Totally agree with your comment about it being the first demo that makes me want a heliotropic, the previous demos didn't do much for me...
yeah, I don't think fuzzrocious demos sometimes capture how good the pedals are. tempted by a heliotropic now!!!
4. Loves JMJ's face during the fuzzrocious demo too
5. Yeah, i'd happily own all 4 of those Still loving my diabolik, though I don't think that demo captures just how awesome it sounds
6. On hold...
7. Hey all - so there's a great new fuzz wars over at pedals and effects, including the ace new malekko diabolik and a cog tarkin!!! And the first demo i've heard of the fuzzrocious heliotropic that makes me want one Justin meldal johnson replacing juan, it's a good watch
8. Diago Gigman pedalboard. Only taken out of the flat for a few practices, but decided I prefer the design of pedaltrain boards. I'll put a photo up this evening, but pretty much as new. No idea on postage cost for this, so £50 collected (Bristol) - if you want it posted I'll need to find out how much we're talking as I've only posted pedals in recent years, so don't want to guess... cheers
9. OxFuzz Bass still very much available, and very much lovely
10. I'm considering a flanger, but have a few specific requirements, so looking for some recommendations... On an album I recorded last year, we put all of the bass tracks through a flanger (outboard rack unit, I can't recall the name), and I was able to manually set the frequency. I want this, in a BOSS-sized, ideally 9v pedal. So what do folks recommend? I imagine this rules out the simple 2 knob flangers, as I'd need to reduce the width the zero so as to eliminate the sweep. Hopefully this makes sense! Something old or new, though I don't want to use a blender / loop pedal if it has crappy bypass, and I still want to retain the bass strongly (will I in fact need a blender for this, or are there flangers where you can blend in with the clean signal??) cheers
11. I don't think you could go wrong with an mxr micro amp.

Delay?

I've tried 3's and 7's and they're great, not heard of any problems with 5's and 6's..

Delay?

There's a DD-5 in the classifieds for £50, job done!

Delay?

I'd think you'd just about pick up a dd-3 or an echo park on ebay for £50, on a good day!
15. GazWills

Delay?

Do you want ambience, ability to self oscillate/make noise, or just very clear prominent repeats??
16. GazWills

Delay?

Pretty sure brian cook uses the ehx for feedback as opposed to actual delayed parts, at least i think i read that somewhere... For a really clear delay, i'd also vote dd-3 secondhand, really solid pedals.
17. I've never heard of providence pedals before, will check them out!
18.
Hi Gaz, nice use of the pedaltrain jr there! I'm just wondering about the position of your octave in regards to signal chain. Do you use the BB and the fuzz with the octave down? If so, doesn't it turn to mush? Also how do you like that chorus pedal, did you consider the providence chorus at all?
cheers yeah, I much prefer the sound with the OC-2 before dirt pedals - I saw a video over on pedals and effects, and a few forum posts, where Juan insists it's better after dirt pedals, but for me I prefer the octave up front. I use it on some songs with the BB, others with the diabolik and others with the TFR - it stays pretty clear, though synthy (which is what I'm going for). I play a bit higher up the neck when using it though... As for chorus, I used to have an old boss CE-5, which (oddly for a boss pedal) died on me, and I heard the mxr was based on the same circuit, and it's a really nice sounding pedal, works well with the OC-2, with delay and after dirt too. I'm maybe less fussy about chorus than I am with dirt pedals, the mxr does the job for what I want out of a chorus, so I'm happy enough with it!
19. From mini to Jr, the slippery slope to a PT-PRO... TU-2 > OC-2 > BB Pre > Diabolik > TFR > Echorec > Chorus Space for one more, and I'm waiting to see what the EQD Pitch Bay is like - I need something to pitch shift or octave up for a bit of variety

21. I used to play in a post hardcore band, stingray into old valve amp. Just a tu-2 and an old fulltone bassdrive for light and heavy o/d options... Now i play in a band where fuzzy/synthy bass tones are needed / fun, so i go tu-2 into octave (oc-2), various dirts then chorus Never personally needed/wanted a compressor, some swear by them!!
22. In the past i'd have said yes mate, but i know how quickly i change my mind these days - will let you know if I do..
23. Carbon copy sold...
24. Carbon copy and oxfuzz both on hold..
