So thanks to @Beedster & @chris_b I averted disaster recently in deciding NOT to sell my SVT II Pro
Suggestion made by @Beedster to start up a thread dedicated to owners of this beast of an amplifier so here we are!
Let’s make this the SVT II knowledge shop?!
Let’s hear about your experiences with this amp?
Show us your rigs?!
What cabs do you use?Did you change valves? What were your thoughts?
Amp settings?
How do you transport such a lump?
What problems (if any) have you had?
Any thoughts / comments / experiences you have had with this head are more than welcome....Ill kick this off with one “issue” I have....
I’ve seen a lot to suggest that this amp should be cased / racked, which makes a lot of sense but when I bought the amp I was advised NOT to case / rack it. The reason being that with the vents on the sides, most racks / cases won’t have suitable ventilation to prevent overheating and then failure / damage.
Anyone have any thoughts / experience with this?!
Mine is cased, but in a vented case. It does need a new one, this case has taken a fair hammering over the years and the racking inside is broken, but its so heavy it doesn't really shift..

I bought a bass from Graeme the other day. Absolute pleasure to deal with, lovely accommodating guy. Thanks so much mate!!

Does anyone here own this Spector Wimbish Euro? If you do, want to sell it? 🙏🏼

Seen them online, but never in this country. Not particularly common.... but I'd like to try one - the double PJ set is cool!
If I manage to track one down, you're welcome to pop round for a twiddle Gary

but nice 😉

Yeah, its quite Rex isn't it, but I think about a decade before the Rex. Its more of a half-way point between the original Tbird shape and the Rex. From what I can tell, it first surfaced around 1991. Seem to be as rare as rocking horse poop...

I've got a couple and they're among the lightest of all my basses, Epi & Gibbo are both nice and light. The neck dive has never really been an issue with the strap button repositioned in Fender'esque positioning.
If you want a smaller headstock with no chance of dive, there's always Spector NS-2X or Mike Lull (RIP
) basses for megabucks...

That's surprising guys, I have the Mono dual and I love it, makes loading in/out simpler with only one bass bag to hump around. If only there was one for Tbirds too...
