I've had 3 of these over the years, they are great Basses, and this is one of the cleanest I've ever seen!!
Just one thing, are you sure the Split P pickup is original? Could just be the camera angle, but as far as I remember, the pole pieces were oversized (much like they are on SD QP's), you can see this on the Jazz pup, but they look more 'normal' size on the P Pickup...
Lush Bass either way! GLWTS!
Now you mention it I might have swapped the stock out for Fender 62 P's.... I really can't remember to be honest!

Ooops, just remembered, the knobs aren't original. They've been changed to black metal tele types like Duff's bass. I have the original Fender F knobs at home somewhere though.

PRICE DROP TO £650 FOR EACH
1993 Fender Jazz Bass Special for sale. MIJ. Great condition for a 25 year old bass. There are some scratches and wear which I have tried to show in the pics. The most noticeable are the headstock and the edge of the body near the knobs. A much better bass than the Duff McKagan signature models, slimmer J neck rather the P, and better pickups. All original aside the knobs, and the Black Death sticker, which is just vinyl and will peel off without leaving any mark or residue (if you're not a diehard GNR fan)
1987 Fender Jazz Bass Special for sale. MIJ. Almost spotless, superb condition. White paint has matured into a lovely cream patina. No real marks or scratches to speak of.

My mistake, I've just found out its actually a 1997. I'm editing the main post now...

I'm selling my Musicman Stingray 4H as I have GAS and need to free up some cash. I've had this beast for years now and can't even remember how long it's been.
If you're looking you know the score, great bass, tone for days, legendary bit of kit. Fitted with a Hipshot D-Tuner. I think I have the original tuner somewhere too.
There's no real marks at all, just a tiny bit of buckle rash on the back, but nothing through the paintwork. Comes with a tweed hardcase as shown.
Buy it before I realise this is a stupid idea and cancel the ad... (for an extra £50 I'll throw in the Nordstrand MM pickup I've never got around to using in it too.)
No trades unless you have:

I'm going to swap out the silver knobs for some more subtle Sadowsky ones. They're just a bit bling right now...

Does anyone know anyone that can fix this without refinishing the bass? Doesn't have to be invisible (although preferred), just something to get rid of the botched fix.
Current owner says this...
About 6 years ago it got knocked over and I noticed a tiny crack in the back which is only in the top layers of the wood at the back into the electronics cavity to a few inches from the bottom edge before the battery panel. I panicked and over reacted so I wicked in some superglue and added some brass plates to brace the crack. The crack hasn't moved since and to be honest I wish Id left it alone. I did think about getting it refinished but the finish is so lovely I didn't want to risk ruining it See photos.

If anyone here feels that thei rUSA Cirrus 4 in Tiger Eye is just taking up too much room at home, please feel free to offload it in this direction

So the Yammy has a mix of Alnico V at the neck and Ceramic at the bridge. Maybe I need to try and match that in order to replicate the tone?
- Pickups Neck: Split Blade (Alnico V), Bridge: Single Blade (Ceramic)

Christoph Dolf from Bassculture in Germany can make you almost whatever you want.
The EMG catalogue has every type of sound in that housing, but you'll have to like their linear sound.
To date, the Nordstrand Fat Stack (FS4 in EMG 35 housing) is certainly what you're looking for : http://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Nordstrand_Pickups_Signature.html
Avoid side by side humbuckers as you will loose the clarity and punch you are looking for.
That's interesting. I was looking at the Nordstrand Big Split and Big Single as the possible ones to use, but you think the Fat Stack instead of the Big Split?

I’m building a new bass, Warmoth jazz parts and I want 2 soapbars. What I’m longing for is something that sounds as great as my Yamaha BB1024X in a jazz body. I love the punchy, full, bassy and zingy sound of my BB.
As I’m using a Warmoth body it has to conform to EMG 35 or Bartloini BC size routing, so I have the choice of those two or Aguilar, Norstrand or Delano soapbars.
Anyone have any experience across these and opinions? Big sounding PJ punch from 2 soapbars...
