4. Hi All, Price reduced to £1,600 Up for sale is my 1973 Fender P bass - it has some changes and ships in a brand new Fender C&G case....weighs in at a lightweight 8.2lbs. Changes: - newer (later 70s Fender) machine heads - the lower thumb rest position has been drilled as an after-thought.....under the guard it has the upper position thumb rest holes. - the tort guard is certainly authentic vintage but as it doesn't have the upper thumb rest holes, has been added (replacing a black one, I suspect). - chrome covers and thumb rest are newer replacements Everything else is original to the bass (ie. bridge, pups, knobs, pots etc). Frets have plenty of life left. Neck is dead straight and plays with a low action right up the neck. Has its fair share of dings, dongs and other playwear but overall is in great condition. Cheers, Si

  10. Hi All, (back up for sale...previous post locked and so couldn't edit it) Up for sale is my 100% original black 1973 Fender Precision Bass, serial number 424563, with OHSC. The bass weighs 8.2lbs and the neck is to die for...playing with an incredibly low action plus plenty of life left in the frets. Pot codes and neck stamp both date to 1973. The bass shows signs of playwear, with dings / dongs etc. The body rear has some marks where the bass has been left laying on a cable (I suspect)....difficult to photo due to the colour, but worth a mention. The case is in ok condition...the latches work fine. The handle has been taped at some point and the ends have wear....as does the tolex. Still does the job, however. So overall not mint by any means, but if you are looking for a lightweight early 70s P with that classic thump and low action, this is it !! Cheers, Si

  12.
Fender did use white primer in the late 60's
Thanks Daniel - yes, its the white primer you can see there.

  14. Hi All, Price drop to £2,200 plus shipping. Up for sale is my 100% original 1968 P Bass with its OHSC. Plenty of action under its belt, this one has a nicely worn in neck that plays like a dream.....still plenty of life left in the frets though. Dings, dongs, and plenty of wear around the body edge.....a bass with some stories to tell.....but what a growl...! Case in decent enough condition. Feel free to get in touch with any questions - or to arrange to come and have a play with no obligation of course. Cheers, Si
