Hi All, Up for sale is my 100% original black 1973 Fender Precision Bass, serial number 424563, with OHSC. The bass weighs 8.4lbs and the neck is to die for...playing with an incredibly low action plus plenty of life left in the frets. Pot codes and neck stamp both date to 1973. The bass shows signs of playwear, with dings / dongs etc. The body rear has some marks where the bass has been left laying on a cable (I suspect)....difficult to photo due to the colour, but worth a mention. The case is in ok condition...the latches work fine. The handle has been taped at some point and the ends have wear....as does the tolex. Still does the job, however. So overall not mint by any means, but if you are looking for a lightweight early 70s P with that classic thump and low action, this is it !! Hi All, Up for sale is my modded 1973/4 fretless Precision bass, serial number 410729, with a non-original case. Original natural finish. The body has been routed in three places to accommodate an active Bartolini P/J set-up....control cavity enlarged, J pickup added at the neck, cavity created on the rear body to fit the 2 batteries. The pickguard is obviously not the original, and neither are the strap buttons (they are brand new schallers) or the thumb rest (Fender RI). The body itself shows signs of playwear with some buckle rash on the rear and various scratches, dinks and dongs.....the neck is still in great condition. The case is old but pretty sturdy....one of the corners is badly worn but all that is made up for by the fact that it has a pink lining ! The bass plays and sounds fantastic.....I can't say I'm an expert on active pickups, but the various range of tones / blends etc is just great. Hi All, Up for sale is my 1972 sunburst Precision Bass, with original case. Nice light weight at a shade over 8lbs. Overall, she is in very good condition but as you might expect shows signs of playwear with the usual dings, dongs, scratches and scrapes....especially around the body edge and a decent one on the upper horn. Frets also show decent use, although she plays without buzz all the way up the neck. The neck pocket has been slightly scraped, presumably to improve the already low action (see pic).
