1. Okay, I'm selling my cabs, and putting all my stuff in a rack for storage and stuff. So the 2u rack I have isn't big enough anymore. So I want to sell it. It's a normal Gator 2u plastic rack case, in the shallow depth. Not gigged it, but it does have a few scuffs like any case would. I just had a look and they're £80 new pretty much, so £30? Would take part ex for a 6u deep case. Prefer collection from Sheffield, but I could post it for a few more monies. PM me NOW SOLD
2. Simwells - bit cheeky, but is there any chance I would be able to borrow the B3K at some point for a short period? Really want to try one out, and I'm in Sheffield TG, your board looks sweet! That master box is pretty cool. Might have to nab that idea
3. If I can fit all my pedals in a 2u space, then I'd rather do that than have a 2u space AND an extra 1u for an inferior tuner. Hadn't even thought about the B7k... It looks the most expensive D:
4. Been away from bass playing and being in a band for quite a while now. And consequently Basschat as well! A bit rusty with everything But regardless, I have a couple of questions. Is the Darkglass B3K THAT good? It sounded fantastic in demos I've heard when it first came out, but I'm guessing a lot of you guys have had your hands on it now, at least in passing. Considering a new setup that will be built pretty heavily around a pedal similar to it, if not using the Darkglass one. Also, does anyone have all their pedals mounted in a rack? And if so, how? I want to get mine off the floor, in a kind of permanent setup, but I still want visible access to them so I can see my tuner etc.

DIY Effects

That underlit pedal is so cool. I've been wanting to do something like that for such a long time, but couldn't work out how to make it glow convincingly!
6. Stick it out man, this is a monster and it just needs the right person to catch it!
7.
I am relieved and sad at the same time...
Me too! For possibly opposite reasons.
8. Seems that asking nicely worked pretty well. Sold, pending things.
9. Easily more justifiable than buying the same rig new from Matamp!
10. The effects are for the most part exactly the same as the effects in the M9 or M13. If you're not using the amp models (which aren't best suited for bass - there are ways around it), then the dual path is perfect for blending clean and effected signals, if that's what you were wanting to do. There's enough stuff there to be able to individually control levels, EQ, high/low pass etc for both the clean and effected signals if you use it that way. Depending on how you set up your patches, you can also set the 'dry' signal up to sound different for every effect you use. Though I think the X3 would also do flexible signal routing, I haven't used it. I'm assuming you'd be using this just for effects, rather than as a preamp?
11. Not sure I've seen a car as tradebait on here before! I don't even drive though, so it's a bit of a non-starter
12. I definitely like mine, but I do run a Sansamp BDDI in the FX loop as a fat clean sound, and blend it with the HD500's onboard distortions and stuff for some grind. There are clean sounds in the Pod (easiest is just using your direct bass sound, and an EQ block to taste), but that just worked well for me. You can switch from clean to dirty, to ambient noises so easily. Running that into a poweramp has honestly given some of my favourite bass tones I've ever used. The X3 looks like it would do almost exactly the same thing though, with more focus on bass players. When people want something to be bass specific, I don't know what they're asking for. Usually seems to be bass amp models, but if you stop obsessing over having to model a bass amp, there are a lot of ways to get great bass sounds from units like this if you use your ears rather than just going straight for the Ampeg preset! It isn't very plug and play though, you need to spend some quality time setting it up compared to the M9 I had, although the effects in it are exactly the same.
13. Cheers It is very cool looking, I'll agree!
14. Free to whoever wants it. Collection only from Sheffield. There's no label so I'm not sure of the impedance, though I'm pretty sure it's an 8 ohm. Rated at 400W IIRC.
15.
An update on the build. Jon said it would be ready for the Bass bash on the 24th of september. The day came and went and after I sent many emails Jon has replied saying the electrics need to be installed next week and the frets need leveling............ Oh, its a fretless !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is anyone else having long delay problems with Jon.??
You're also much better ringing him than emailing him I've found. He'll always give me the time of day on the phone. I feel like a dick doing it so I try not to, but it does seem like people that needle him about getting stuff completed repeatedly seem to get their builds quicker.
16. Might be a stupid question, but do you know what was used/what was done when you recorded that song? I like your band btw.
17. Picking this up from practice room later. Hopefully be able to get better pictures if I can find my camera!
18. Thanks for the bump As for discussing price, I'm not one for getting into it, but i feel it's priced fairly (I'd go so far as to say competitively ) based on what I paid, the condition it is in and the use it has had.
