  1. Dropped to £275, I'm going to Denmark Street next week looking at new heads - give me some spending money
  2. I agree! This is actually the third one I've owned! Doesn't fit the form factor of my new small rig - if it was in micro-head form I'd be tempted to just hang onto it
  3. Someone buy this pls, the kids need to eat! ...I have no kids, but I do need to eat. Plus it's a sweet pre
  4. Downsizing my old gigging rig for something I can use in the home and small practice rooms, so I no longer need the flexibility or power of my rack setup. I'm looking for £300 for this preamp. Would also trade toward a Darkglass head or one of the small Barefaced cabs. Will also be looking at selling the Powersoft poweramp at some point - if it's something that would interest you in addition to the preamp, I'll have a think about the price for that too. I'm in Sheffield for anyone who would like to test and/or collect, but I should be able to ship this one. Absolutely no issues with the preamp - condition is good and I think it sounds great (it's very flexible). I would assume that most people checking this preamp out will know what it is, but let me know if you want any more info about it and I will provide
  5. Dood! Hi! Yes, I think it'll be time for me to move it on again soon - I don't need a power amp that is so beastly! Ha gorandelac - I'm no expert unfortunately, but the spec sheets for both cabs are here so you can compare them if you'd like (the Big Twin 2 page does have a small paragraph on comparison to the Big Twin T as well): https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/Big-Twin-2.htm https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/big-one.htm There look to be some small differences in dimensions and weight, the crossover and the Gen 3 construction. As far as how it sounds, I've not been able to A/B them! But I'm not just saying this cab is great just because I'm selling it :') Hope that helps!
  6. No takers? I'd still much rather collection only, but if the price is wrong drop me an offer!
  7. I haven't played bass for a few years now (some of you might even remember me!) for a variety of reasons, but I'm just dusting my gear off and picking it up again. I was in a very loud band where more was more for a while, but no longer need a cab like this! It's absolutely monstrous and I just want something small/portable for my house and small practice room jams. I'm not sure exactly where to price this, but I'm going to go in at £700 for this cab as this seems to be right ballpark from what I've seen - https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/big-one.htm Happy to discuss price, and would also be interested in part ex-ing for a smaller Barefaced cab (Midget, Compact, One10), or a Darkglass head. Condition is overall good, but not perfect - you'll see in the photos that one of the top corner protectors has got a bit rusty while I've had it in storage since 2014 (if this bothers you for any reason, it's a drop-in replacement to put a new cab corner on!). There's also an abrasion on the metal grill, some scuffs on the handles, and a couple of small chips in the covering - it's been gigged, basically! Everything is purely cosmetic though and I would consider these almost entirely inconsequential! I will also be selling a few other bits and pieces when I get round to pricing and listing them, but if an Ampeg SVP-Pro preamp (black front) or Powersoft Digam D2004 power amp float your boat, drop me a line as well I would very much prefer collection on this one, as I'm not overly comfortable with getting the cab couriered. I'm in Sheffield for collection or testing purposes
  8. Good spot, I totally glossed over that one! Hah
  9. Found one on Gumtree and messaged the chap selling it. He replied, and I sent one back trying to barter the postage in with it, then... no reply. Left it a couple of days and messaged him again, and he said I didn't reply to him, so he sold it to someone else. Absolutely gutted!

  11. I really wish the Darkglass stuff came in 1u racks. Ever since the first video of the B3K came out I really wanted one - it was the sound in my head! Always been a bit steep though. I tried the SFT out before and didn't really like it though I was really hyped up for it too! If I don't just go straight into the pre, and straight out to the power amp, I'll probably end up splitting signal, running a boost/drive into the front end of a pre, and feeding clean sansamp into the FX loop or something silly
  12. I realised I miss my Ampeg SVP-Pro a lot and I want a new one. They're not all that common though, and I'm a bit out of the loop (a lot out of the loop). Is there anything fairly similar about that I could look into for a gnarly 1u preamp?
  13. Let me know how this treats you after you've used it out at some rehearsals or shows!
  14. Firstly, you aren't Wintermute from MX are you? Barefaced stuff is potentially on the agenda. I used to own a Vintage, which didn't sound too bad. It had a lot of clarity, but I wouldn't say it was thunderous or anything compared to other cabs I've owned. So yeah, I'd be interested in the Big Twin T or maybe the Super Twelve. The claim that a Big Twin will sound like a good hifi with recorded music playing through it is certainly something I'm interested in with regards to using modelling and cab sims. Just looking to see what other options are around basically
  15. Not really had my eye on what gear is about recently - been out of bands for around a year or so now. Just starting again, and I sold all my stuff a while back. I used to have a Matamp GT200 and 6x10 as well as a Schroeder 1212L for the smaller occasions. It's all change now though and I have a POD HD500 pushing a Powersoft poweramp in a rack. Trying out modelling I want to make live sound easier, and not fanny about with microphones and stuff. So if I can send a DI signal from the Pod fully noise gated, compressed, high and low passed just right with cab sims on and stuff, that seems to make a lot of sense. Also makes recording a good deal easier. My only issue past that is monitoring. I'm not relying on venues for monitoring. Hell, some venues don't even have monitors. How many times have you turned up somewhere and asked about the monitors, only to get "Oh, those? Yeah we don't plug them in, they don't really work properly..". There are also going to be those gigs with no PA support, or where it is totally inappropriate/the PA is only a vocal one etc, so I still need a cab. I still want something loud for rehearsals and non-PA gigs (the Powersoft amp is in the kW territory, so I'm fine with that), but it needs to be a cab that is capable of taking some gritty gnarled up bass tone with some big bottom end and also not fighting against the cab sims that I'll be running. You hear FRFR/flat response banded around a lot, but what is there really out there in terms of bass? I don't feel like PA cabs are the best thing to be going for but I'm not really sure. Just want something to put out what it gets in, and sound like what I'm giving the sound engineer on the night. Being compact and/or light is a bonus I guess. So what's actually out there?
  16. I actually just plugged this in and it's making some very strange noises. I have no idea why this is, but until I've taken this to a tech, I'm withdrawing it :/
  17. Bump again. Yes by the way, I used this in two bands back in the day for rehearsing, recording and gigging. It might struggle in the world of two halfstack guitar metal bands a little I'd guess.
  18. Yes it is. PM is the best way to reach me - I don't check the thread every day.
  19. I'm selling my Roland DB500. The condition is good, though the carpet is a little roughed up. No rips though. It's a 160W combo with a 12" speaker and non adjustable tweeter. For anyone that's never heard of them, they really are fantastic amps. Everytime they go up for sale there are plenty of people vouching for the quality of them. Kind of the big brother of the Cubes. It has 2 user preset EQs, as well as the manual one. There is an inbuilt chorus and tube simulator, as well as a 15" speaker sim. It has been gigged and coped just fine with PA support, but it has been sat in a cupboard for years now while I've moved on to bigger, badder, more unnecessary amps :/ So I'm saying £160. Collection only from Sheffield. I've got the manual somewhere too.
  20. I've already got a 6u sorted thanks! If you're still interested in the 2u, it's still here though
  21. Selling my Schroeder 1212L. They don't seem to be so in vogue anymore over here, though I still see a lot of love from people who do still own them, and especially in America. I think I may regret getting rid of it when I end up in another band, as I keep coming back to it, but I do have my eye on an EAD or a PA speaker, and I need the room in my new smaller house so that's the only reason I'm putting this out here. For those who don't know, it's a lightweight (if memory serves me, it's around 40lbs?) 2x12 cab. One of the speakers is angled at 45 degrees, so it takes up less room than a lot of other 2x12s. There is also a tweeter with a level knob on the back. It's a neo cab, and I believe the speakers are Celestion Orange Labels. It's an 800W cab rated at 4 ohms, and it has both a speakon and a jack input on the back panel. It has been used by me from new with many different heads in many different settings, and it has stood up wonderfully to everything I've put into it. There are a few marks in the rhino paint covering, but nothing affecting functionality. There is also a fitted Roqsolid cover that I bought for the cab included in the sale. People are welcome to come and try it out, I'm based in Sheffield. I'm not looking to post this, so pick up only I'm afraid. Looking for £380, but open to possible part-trades (not really looking for anything though so it'd have to be something interesting). NOW SOLD
