1. Early morning Bump..
2. Thanks Fella.. It really is a killer but times change and we're now in a beautifully bijou flat by the sea-side so less a case of needing the money and more a case of needed room to turn round in the flat!! Hope you're well and thanks for the sign-off on the pics Russ
3. Hi After a very pleasant sale of another bass to another basschatter recently, I've decided to put this 1966 Sunburst P-Bass up for sale. It's a transition year and is all original. I believe it was purchased around 3 years ago from Andy Baxter who decribed it as the 'cleanest he'd ever seen'. It was sold then for £4500 so I'm asking what it was worth 3 years ago which I think represents a good deal in investment terms. It's been in its case since I purchased it, never gigged in my time and is still in near mint condition. The bass is currently in Brighton. I can ship it but it would be much preferred for someone to collect it or arrange thier own shipping and insurance. Any questions, please ask There's a link to my flickr account for more pics which are made up of some of mine, some from the previous seller and some from Andy Baxter. I don't intend to infringe copyright here and I believe that the pics are still on websites and forums so are technically in the public domain, however if anyone is troubled by me using their or other people's pics, please just say so and I will get some more done. For now, here's a little taster. Link is here: https://www.flickr.c...57648481750541/
4. I've decided to leave this here for a while to see if there's anymore interest.. Still for sale
5. Hi The sound is completely unlike the humbucker tele basses. It's loud, clear and punchy - somewhere between a P and a J. Pretty prefect in fact.. It's got a huge resonance to it that you can feel right through the body and neck. Weight is 9.7 lbs so no backbreaker.. I'll keep checking in on the post to gauge any interest but if you'd like to know more, you can also PM me Cheers
6. Bass now withdrawn from sale due to lack of interest. Thanks for looking :-)
7. I may consider a sensible offer on it if that piques anyone's interest? :-)
8. Thanks for the offer but I'm selling all but one of my basses. Just sold 4 x 70's P-Basses so couldn't really take in another one! :-)
9. Thanks Gareth.. They really are.
10. Thanks.. Doesn't seem to be much love for it on here
11. Hi For sale here is my all original Fender Telecaster Bass made in 1970. It has honest play wear which I've tried to show in the pictures and has the original case. It also has the original covers and 2 pickguards, both original in black and white as the original owner couldn't decide which one he liked so asked Fender to supply both. The bass has no issues and is set up ready to play. The neck radius is a big C and it's got a huge natural resonance. Plugged in, the single pickup is deceptively powerful. One sound, but oh what a sound! The bass is available for collection from Brighton or I am happy to ship it but we can discuss that if need be. As you may know, these are quite hard to come by with the single pickup. I haven't seen that many in my 20 years of playing and they are a very different beast from the later model with the humbucker. I am struggling to upload any more that one image for some reason so please follow the link to Flickr for more images https://www.flickr.c...57647415896039/
12. I have 2 x sets of old double bass strings here. Save throwing them away, I will give them free for the postage in a Jiffy bag (no more than a £5 at absolute tops I reckon). I don't know what gauge they are and they have been used BUT seeing as they're not cheap, they may suit a beginner/teacher looking for a spare set PM with your address! Russ ADMIN _ PLEASE REMOVE AD
13.
Very nice indeed - looks like its faded into a sonic blue (my favourite colour in a bass!)
Definitely not Sonic.. Sonic is much lighter where as this is quite green. It's a corker though and rarer than hen's teeth..
14.
DROOLLLLLLLLLLL That is a lovely collection of Precisions What colour is the '65 ? That bass tickles my fancy
Thanks for the compliment. It's Daphne Blue. Somewhat faded but very nice. :-)
15. Hi PRICE REDUCTION - £250 I'm selling my Squier classic Vibe 50's bass in LPB. The bass is in excellent condition with only 1 small surface scratch on the top and a tiny ding in the back that hasn't cracked the paintwork. The bass has been upgraded with a Bare Knuckle pickup and CTS pots/sprauge caps by guitar relicer Alan Knight. The bass plays superbly and sounds fantastic (better than stock and even then, the stock was good). The bass also has the chrome covers just for added bling! I can post more detailed pictures if needed but this one shows it for what it is.. All in all, a killer bass that with the upgrades easily stands head and shoulders above the competition. I hear that Squier stopped making these in LPB a while back but I don't know if that's true. Either way, a lovely bass. Collection can be from Kent or I can meet in Surrey/West Sussex/parts of London. Can also post/ship interntionally No trades please - I have enough basses!! Thanks
16. DId someone say Precisions? Front to Back - 1962 Custom colour - All Original 1965 L Series Custom Colour - Changed tuners 1966 Sunburst - All Original 1978 Sunburst - All Original 1974 Refin with 80's pickups
17. Hi I'm having the exact opposite issue on my 68 tele bass, whereas the E and the G are much quieter. The pole-peices are staggered so that the A and D are higher but in this case, too high so as to produce louder strings. Is there any way to remedy this wihtout swapping the pup out?
18. Not sure what to think of this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Precision-Bass-1966-/251381539777?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3a8781e3c1
19. This is Rob, a mate of mine and he's 100% trustworthy (ex-police). Lovely guy who sells alot of guitars through his site www.whitstableguitars.co.uk
20. Hi I have an old canvas 3/4 double bass bag here. I don't want anything for it except the postage. It's in fair condition, a couple of punctures from the spike but it would still do a learner/useful as a dust cover for a spare bass. The zip works and it has a pocket for the bow but the handles need re-stitching I'm just happy to see it go to a good home. PM me if interested.
21. Hi Pete It's not the thickness of the board widthways, it's the depth of the actual rosewood on the fingerboard. I'm restoring an old Fender bass and if you've ever seen 60's bass necks, you'll know that the rosewood is very thin and it's that which I'm trying to find. Most repro necks like MightyMite and Allparts all have much thicker rosewood boards. Thanks Russ
