  1. Ye sorry, went a while ago. Will update the ad
  2. A rivoli you say? Ah, thats a terminal issue, just sell it to me cheaply On a serious note i had the same issue with an Epiphone LP bass. The luthier i took it too use wooden slat type inserts to 'fill out' the holes. Worked a treat. Need a rivoli in my stable, very nearly pulled the trigger on the tasty one at Bass Gallery
  3. My old neighbours were a large violin shop/repairers/valuers. Try searching for Ayres Violins in Didsbury, Manchester. Apparently they are very well known in the violin world
  4. My Dream Amp!!!! Youre too far away from here for me but im sure itll sound awsome. Im just saving up for one as we speak. You say £1200, ive not managed to find one less than the generic £1599
  5. Movement! Bass us now awaiting charges. Only thing is when i try and ring them to get the code to pay its just an automated machine that dosent guve the option. Just says "await your letter then pay online"
  6. Its an ebay seller whos ID is Ookini55. As per last week, bass is STILL sat in customs
  7. Just looked now. While his name is Yuma his ebay ID is "ookini55". Really good comms and pictures from his and he does have good feedback. Must remember to google Yuma Japan later
  8. Still bassless. It arrived at the International Hub (Coventry i believe) on the 28th and its still with awaiting customs
  9. Brill. Cheers for the pics guys. Good idea with the 51 style single screw rest John, might be worth a try that!
  10. Cheers steve. Looking at your bass list in your sig and then your comments on the 70 RI has got me really giddy now! C'mon customs!
  11. An Ebay shop called Yuma. They have great feedback from international customers and when i enquired i got emailed 70 detailed pictures of the bass. Big gamble i know but ive looked EVERYWHERE for this bass in this colour scheme and at the price (£460 for the bass and delivery plus whatever HM throw at it) i couldnt resist
  12. [sup]It is Parcel Force (EMS in Jap). I dont know where it is exactky at the mo. Just says ''International Hub'' on the tracker and that it is awaiting Customs. As soon as it gets to the 'Awaiting Pament' stage ill find out where it is and go get her! [/sup]
  13. Well its landed in this country. Currently ''Waiting Customs Clearance''. Excited!
  14. Also whilst on the subject of P Bass hardware....i have a Jap P bass incoming that has the pickguard pre-drilled to take a chrome pup cover. I assume all fenders (USA, Jap, Mex etc) use the same measurements? I mean if i buy a Genuine fender pup cover it should fit the pre-exisiting holes or are there USA covers, Jap Covers etc?
  15. Im looking to fir a thumbrest on my incoming CIJ 70's RI P bass. I want to fit it in the thumbrest position rather than tugbar (i.e i want it next to the E string rather than under the G. I see that the genuines fender ones come with a template for exact location rather than me rely on internet pictures of genuine fender pics. Does anyone know of the measurements or anywhere online wher i can download a template at all?
  16. Out of interest, has anyone got a close up pick of a Status Hotwire flat E string? I want to know if they are smooth like my Picato's or ''ridged'' like Rotos
  17. Wow, im not normally a maple OR fretless guy but that looks stunning. Cant wait for it to arrive (bit nervous about what her majesty's will take mind). The seller has agreed to note a much cheaper price on the label and note it as a gift but dont think itll work to be honest. Hopefully they'll go easy on me
  18. Just took the plunge for my 30th Birthday and ordered a Black/Black/Rosewood 70's RI P Bass from japan. Looks awsome on all the pics ive been emailed. All i plan to do is stick my usual flats on it and get the chrome covers added. The scrath plate already has holes drill for the pup cover so hopefully as long as i get a genuine fender cover if should fit straight on. Pics to follow when it arrives this week
  19. Just fired up my Ashdown dual tube for the first time in ages. its loaded with 2 Brimar ECC83's and sounded amazing last time i played through it. I fired it up with it out of its wooden sleeve just to have a look inside. However, the valve behind the VU Meter seemed to light up really quickly when i powered up the amp, kinda like a flash then settled down to its normal glow. The other valve just acted normally. Could this mean the valve is on its way out?
  20. I assume Picanto is picato? if so thats my boys right there - flats 45-105
  21. I woulda snapped your hands off if you were closer. Love Ashdown and love the cabs in this style (black grill cloth, white piping) even more
  22. Found these during my recent house move. New and unused but i have no means of testing (not even sure what these valves go into). Thought id got lucky and found some NOS ECC83's . Anyway, quick google search suggests they arent worth too much so ill settle for £7 posted?
