1. Did you notice in the related products link at the bottom of that page for a Tokai EB3 copy (Sold!!) that they've used a pic of an Epiphone EB3. That's a bit naughty!
E.g. BassCentre: http://www.basscentre.com/4-string-bass-gu...ckinbetter.html.
2. You've probably seen the Rockinbetter basses advertised as Tokai. Although they are nothing to do with them it doesn't deter some Ebay sellers from claiming a link with Tokai (even some music retailers do).
Really? What am I on about then?
3. The Laney DP series is so underated. I bought my DP150 head 18 months ago from a local music shop for £70 - they had had it for over three years with no-one even remotely interested in trying it out. It's a real shame because you can get some really good sounds from it with all the different switching options. I use mine with an Ampeg SVT 1x15" cab & a Trace Elliot 2x10". It is a bit under-powered for larger gigs but DI'ing it sorts that. Realistically, how much are you looking for for it?
Laney DP150 Bass combo, like this one: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=24886 It sounds great, it's a bit scuffed. We're going to be gigging a bit more in the future but I can't imagine hefting this thing around, I've injured my back and I have my eye on a super lightweight head/cab job. I honestly have no idea how much this is worth, does anyone on here have any idea? I'm located near Oxford if anyone wants to come try it, it's far too bulky to post so it'd have to be collection only. Cheers, J
4. Now sold to JimD - donation made. I've spotted something on BC that I really want so some of my basses have to go. The first one is this Dean EVO XM in satin mahogany. It's virtually unplayed - probably three hours at the most so there are no marks anywhere. The protective plastic is still on the control cover plate on the rear (the marks in the pic are on the plastic not the cover). I've just fitted a new set of Rotosound Swing Bass strings today (40,50,75 & 90) which cost me just under £20. They have really transformed the sound. Unusually for a short scale bass it has lots of low end with plenty of output & is nice & easy to play. They get good reviews all over the internet. I bought it around 12 months ago at a cost of around £170 (the cheapest I've seen them recently is £163). This is the spec from the Dean web site: • Mahogany Top / Body • 30" Short Scale • Maple Neck • Rosewood Fingerboard • Abalone Dot Inlays • Die Cast Tuners • Black Hardware • Vintage Bridge • 2 Dean Pickups I'm looking for £95 if you want to arrange your own collection (I'll pack it well bubble wrapped in a suitable box). May possibly exchange for an Ashdown Five Fifteen combo or mini rig.
 5. These are not particularly good quality instruments but I suppose on rarity value it's worth a punt for him. 6. Your Precision sounded fantastic through it, no hum & crystal clear - it's a beautiful looking bass too, you must be really pleased with it.
Sorry I didn't see your post until now, Lemon Cello. Tazza1 - thanks for the amp. You are a gentleman!
7. Any feedback is much appreciated - cheers!
 8. I exchanged my Laney combo for an OLP 5 string with Cathal today. He's a great guy, very nice to deal with & I'm very happy with the bass. I hope that Cathal is happy with the amp. Top man!!
 9.
agathis is OK, dont be pushed off cause of that. i had squier vm fretless - i changed the pups (nordstrand) and the sound were superb! even stock pups sounded good to be fair...
I've got a VM fretless too although it's not a fretless now as I've swopped the neck out for a Mighty Mite fretted Jazz neck. I love the sound of the Duncan pickups which I think suit the fretted neck even better.
 10.
I think we was kinda hoping that we'd get our own sitcom...
Why limit our options - we could do (e)Bay Watch or we could bring back Opportunity Knockoffs!
 11.
I am a legit seller who joined your forum many months ago and have made purchases from sellers in Europe. I posted the bass for a price where it would make me consider selling the instrument, that is all. If you look at my feedback on talkbass and ebay you will see. I am not a wheeler and dealer, I am a PhD. student in music who loves instruments, especially Celinders. Sorry you guys have got excited about my post, it seems to be more the case of someone getting upset that he didn't get the deal I got. My posted price was a fair price especially considering the recently sold Celinders are this site. Cheers and happy holidays. The Gold Celinder shipped yesterday to its new owner, I was able to trade her for my old Celinder four string I always regretted selling, luckily the owner wanted a five string.
If you joined many months ago then please accept my apologies - it's just the way it looked. Sounds as though it was a satisfying outcome for both parties.
 12.
So witch hunts are OK here, then? It really baffles me how it is some one else's business how much people buy the stuff for and how much they ask for it.
Doesn't look like a witch hunt to me - someone merely pointed out that the bass had been bought just a few days previously & at a price a lot less than was being asked here - statement of fact. I don't have a problem with people buying & selling on for a profit (although a $700 profit may be pushing it) but what I do feel goes against the grain a bit is someone joining a forum just to sell a bass (& quite obviously in the hope that other people had not seen his purchase - if that's not the case he would have sold it on on Talkbass). Birdy & Burbinga5 were just stating their opinion - whether you agree with that or not it certainly doesn't make it a witch hunt. Obviously this is just my opinion.
 13.
This is a most tempting offer for the item. Unfortune-ately, I do not have myself the money to pay for the item. My uncle has money that was confiscated by the government here after the coup but not all of it was taken. He has $5M in a most secret account and says that he will pay you one million dollar for the item. He will transfer $2M to your bank account if you will wire the $1M dollar back to him. We just need your bank account details and your PIN number and we will sort this out with the utmost importance.
I've got a better idea you send me the money via Western Union then I'll despatch the bass with your $1m dollars, should be no problems there!
 14.
I am shocked that you could even suggest such a thing. The 12 experts who have looked at it have all said it is the genuine artikal and worth $2000... ------------------------------------------ From: BaseExpertDude To: Chuck Ngwamonoma Subject: Stradivarius Precison Bass Hellos to you my greeting friend! To your most excellent query, I can confim that this is indeed a most excellent item with genuine features attached. It is for you that it is 2000 dollar. If people tell you otherwise they are not truthful and loyal. -----------------------------------------
I've just had my Marlin Percussion valued by the top experts at Crack Converters, it was a bit of a shock really, they said they had never seen such a pile of junk in their lives (which is a bit rich really considering the quality of the goods they sell). I explained that the previous owner had told me the bass was a one off special edition (one of only 1,000,000 ever made) but they were adament that it is worthless & I've got to believe them because they really know their stuff don't they? So I'm afraid the deal is off unless you want a straight exchange for my Fecker Jizz Bass. Go on - you can have hours of fun showing people the logo on your paddle thingy.
 15.
I don't need to tell you because, as you're reading this you will already know, the Stradivarius Precison Bass (as certified by 12 music industry experts) was made in the Matsumokumushipea factory and is a *RARE* and *SUPERB* ungigged example of the high quality craftyship that they was [s]reknown[/s] [s]renoun[/s] famous for.
No-one could shape plywood like those Japanese [s]geenyus[/s], [s]jeanius[/s], craftsmen! Hold on though wasn't the Stradivarius made in the Czech republic? Are you sure this is genuine?
 16.
They're rubbish they are. You wanna get a Stradivarius Precision Bass like what I've got - *totally* rare and never gigged... wanna buy it?
Let me think about it but are you sure it's not the cheaper Stradivarius Percussion Base? A lot of people make that mistake. Would you swop for my Marlin Percussion Base - it's worth more than yours cos it's got a genuine Squire transfer on the end bit.
 17.
If you've added "Fecker Jizz Bass" decals to your Johnny Brook copy, then you should spend half your ebay listing congratulating yourself on your keen sense of humour having created this "hilarious" bass, and of course you should price it at £200 or more.
Oh feck - that's another one of my basses you lot have ridiculed. I dread to think what you are going to say about my Fender Stratocaster Bass.

Bloody hell that would be one large attachment!!
