  1. A huge advantage too .. the TH700 will run into 2.67 ohms so for 4ohm cabs with 8 ohm cab works a treat or perhaps 3 x 8ohm cabs !!
  2. You are most welcome Rich 👍 Ive left you feedback too ( good of course ) !!
  3. Sold my Ashdown cab to Rich and it was a pleasant sale. Rich is a lovely guy and a trusted buyer Thankyou
  4. Thanks guys 👍
  5. The ToneHammer isn’t really a clean hi Fi sounding amp and the AG700 does that well. However you can get close by turning gain very low and boosting master volume .. naturally you lose overall amp volume but with 700w it’s still very useable. Even with gain at 12 o’clock it’s more clean than dirty, very tube amp sounding
  6. Perhaps try the FX loop trick and push a lead into send and return ( link it out ) to eliminate the jacks
  7. Since owning the Tonehammer 700 head I’ve learnt a lot about the quirky nature of its Gain / Drive and EQ section. So much so that I can see why some past users have not liked the tone at first or struggled to make sense of it !! The input gain control is unlike typical bass amps and is recommended to try many settings as they all alter the EQ and how it works with the drive section. Turn down the gain and boost the drive makes a huge difference to the mid frequency control. Turn off the drive and increase the gain and the mids become more active and adjustable ( less dark sounding ) The EQ is powerful and a little goes a long way Most users never see the clip light come on and even Aguilar say it’s not an issue if it does !! I can max my input gain with a passive bass and it doesn’t clip ! It does allow for clean or dirty tones and a lot in between Anyone trying it quickly in a store would struggle at first with the EQ or where to set the gain level. It really sounds like a tube amp in its warmth and very pleasant growl if required
  8. As new T-Rex Fuel Tank Classic power supply complete with all the leads Price includes U.K. shipping SOLD
  9. Yes I did notice that !!!
  10. Having recently purchased a new TH700 head I played this with my Ampeg SVT212AV cab later adding the SVT112AV to run both ( 2.67ohms ) which the Tonehammer can handle. Gigged it last night and I was very pleased with the result as it was one of the nicest sounding rigs I’ve owned. Very tube like in tone but without the head weight. Powerful deep and warm sound with clarity. This will most likely mean my Ashdown ABM600 will be up for sale soon. It really is that good !

  11. Does Yamaha do something to age their high end guitars and basses to improve resonance etc ? Any way I’m convinced it makes little to no difference on my two basses so something else is more likely such as the pickup not being identical even though they are similar in age Player Series set as close to the same etc Interesting topic !!
  12. And doesn’t he play with a pick ?
  13. My new gigging rig Works well and sounds amazing
  14. This works well Gorgeous tone
  15. Aguilar AG700 might be worth considering? Or Ashdown RM500 / RM800 are nice
  16. This makes sense 👍
  17. I can definitely hear a difference.. assuming both basses are made using the same wood for the body ? Which I believe are both Alder
  18. I have two Player Series PBass one has the Pau Ferro fingerboard the other is maple. Both strung with same strings the Pau Ferro is a darker sounding bass. Does the fingerboard really make this difference or is something else the cause ? Pickups all set the same, as is action etc
  19. Thanks Bill 👍
