  1. I definitely would NOT have put that in my video ....looks great to me
  2. So I now own two Schecters. The first is a CV4 which I really like: think of a passive Jazz bass with all the tonal flexibility of a G&L L2K....but I happened across this beast in a Pawn Shop awhile ago and I was intrigued by it because its such an oddball
  3. Thread derail: I just noticed your screename.....I read a book by Poul Anderson with that title ..... best explanation of general relativity in a fiction format Back on topic: any black P Bass with a white pickguard looks like a budget bass to me, regardless if it cost 50 dollars or 5000 dollars.......not an ugly look, but a cheap look
  4. I just saw My Chemical Romance...they were very good
  5. I personally like sunburst and tort....what I don't like is that it's cliche
  6. a few years ago i was playing keyboards in a band with a bass player that owned a Wishbass that sat in a stand and never used.....it is fugly and was part of my inspiration for the video (although it isnt in it)....however, unlike your experience, the neck on this one (a fretless - are Wishbasses all fretless?) was decent and it didnt sound too bad (in all fairness, it didnt sound great either)
  7. some of those are true eye sores...i think im going to make a Part 2 video...........
  8. Fresh out of the oven https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K86-a9X9DQ&t
  9. I dont think Pino lurks in the background either (or no more or less than Marcus does in any given situation). Both are popular names with the general bass community but how about to the average non-musician music listener?.....I guess perception will play a big role in this thread
  10. 👍 + Louis Johnson David Hungate Marcus Miller
  11. Rib13 Bass - Find The P Bass Challenge Answer Key - YouTube
  12. Ill be posting the Answer Key later tonight. This was posted on several messageboards (not to mention folks I know in RL) and Im waiting on responses from a few, including one late addition. A few things I found interesting in this experiment: All the basses got votes, some more than others but nothing was unanimous. Some message boards favored answers different than other messageboards. Is this previous-answer influencing? Im not sure I want to thank everyone that participated and especially for the Subs! Im totally humbled
  13. But I haven't posted the answers yet? Lol........btw, the answers should be up Saturday.....the p bass challenge has been posted in multiple places and im trying to get as much input as possible......
  14. I am working on the Answer Key video now....I will try my hardest to have it up by this weekend A BIG thank you to all those that subscribed...I am really touched by all this...These videos are very time-consuming but the responses here and other places where Ive posted this (not to mention with my Real Life friends and players) makes it all worthwhile
  15. Lol.....I'm still finishing my current video and will post the answer video in a few weeks.....I apologize for the inconvenience: I no longer play music for a living after 30 years but I am a full time RN.....I squeeze making videos into a very busy life. A Big thank you to everyone that subscribed....I hadn't expected to get to 500 so soon and i am deeply grateful 😀
  16. Im in the middle of shooting another review video (the editing takes time and I work a dayjob - I dont do YouTube for a living lol)....when this one is complete, Ill start the answer video even if there isnt 500
  17. As the video stated, when I get to 500 subscribers, I'll start making an answer key video and will post shortly afterward......I will say this much: All the examples got votes - some more than others
  18. the video was already lengthy. Too many details about the P-bass evolution itself would detract away from the main point of the video. Just a judgement call on my part
  19. Wow! NIce!!! Ive never seen the bolt-on. Thank You for sharing!
  20. Fresh outta the oven. This '04 USA Peavey Cirrus Ive owned for almost two decades and its one of my favorite basses. Enjoy
  21. Every awesome reggae band I ever saw was stoned to the bageezus
  22. Nursery Cryme and Lamb Lies Down On Broadway are my faves but I also like 80s prog/pop Genesis as well.....something for everyone
  23. One of the reasons why I use rounds is affect: I feel like I get better trampoline response for slap with rounds over flats
  24. They don't.......its supposed to be out of context humorous in relation to the video title. A background of fruits and veggies wouldve been less sense lol...also 58 Ps have the split pu and contour, no? That's all I was addressing - just the basic aesthetic. Anodized guards and all would just be too much to mention to keep the video flow going. Thanks for watching
  25. Ok I changed in on the scoring for basschat.....I'm keeping track of the guesses on multiple sources and in person as best I can
