1. rather than drill the body could i use one of those copper grounding strips coming from under the bridge like the 60's jazzes used to have, the solder the ground wire to that inside the pup cavity?
2. warwick $$ very mean and angry when crancked!! and looks the part in black!

5. just wondered if any active pup will work with the EMG eq systems? i.e. ive got an emg Pbass pup and the bass i'm working on has p/j config so gonna drop the emg P pup in along with an old status active jazz pup, both are active pups so in theory this should work!? or can the emg pup work with another active eq system such as bart/SD?? cheers
6. i was 14, my first bass was a Marlin sidewinder - metalic silver p/j pups. i initialy started with guitar but got sick of trying to get my fingers into chord shapes quick enoiugh etc, so i thought 'the bass has to be easier its only got 4 strings!!!' so thats how it all began!!!
7. anyone looking at tis one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Used-WARWICK-Streame...=item41574ee7cc if anyone is seriously interested i'll sell mine for £100 less!!! lol i think a wee bit optimistic on their part!!
8. please forgive my ignorance on such things as eletrical stuff has always puzzled me!!! i'm looking to put together a jazz bass and ive bought a bosy which has standard pup and control cavity routing, but no hole for a ground wire to come from under the bridge assembly. my question is.... does the electrics have to be grounded under the bridge? or could a screw be used in the control cavity into the body and grounded that way!? Ive got an audere preamp to install and the only wire it needs connecting is the ground sut obviousy at the minute ive no way of doing that under the bridge! advice??
9. bought this a while ago off the bay with the intention of learning - fancied myself as a Miles Davis!!! anyhow the usual story, bought it tried it realised it was never gonna happen so back in the case it went!! Its a Simba model - budget level, its immaculate, as is the hardcase it comes in, brass coloured £50 if anyone interested? pics are too big to load on here so if anyone wants pics just pm me ur email
10. my immediate thoughts were 3+1, interesting!
11. pic of the headstock in question... thought 'bout tele shape but dont think it'll fit right?
12. looking at an axl jazz which ive been offered really cheap, so thought i'd use it as a project. question is... obviously it ain't ever gonna be a fender, and the headstock as is couldn't be reshaped as such, so what ither headstock designs are out there that i could reshape it as!??
13. i never use anything other than flats, yeh i mainly play blues/soul stuff so no reall need for slap! but they cover varied sounds easily, the 'brightest' flats ive troed were fender ones if thats any use! other than that i pretty much use picatto's all the time
14. I'd have that if only i were close enough!!
15. hi matt yep i'm in sunderland! ive got a guy intrerested atm will get back if falls through

18. wud luv this but sadly no funds! unless youre interested in trades?
19. ive got the same bass, its awesome lovely necks on these and really versatile too!! its a keeper!! (well unless anyone really wants it and wants to make an offer!!!! ive always got gAS!!!)
20. right, bought this off the 'bay couple of weeks ago with the intention of getting it and seeing if i could turn it into a thumb! plus was interested in it! was sold to me as a genuine warwick neck with a 'luthier made' reproduction thumb body! well the neck is indeed genuine warick, ovangkol black tuners, however its had either a rod replaced or new fretboard at some point which was obviously done 'at home'! the joining is poor!! it would need the fretboard taking off aand either a new one glueing or this one glueing back on better/properly! the frets look in good shape so i gues they'd be reuseable. the neck has had original mounting holes filled and new ones re-drilled - and they dont line up with the body!!! so ive never actualoly fitted the neck! the truss rod is working, and the neck appears to be straight but obviously its only under tension that u'd find out for sure, and theres no nut! the body... well its a nice lump of what apears to be ovangkol!? the routing isnt the greatest/tidiest although comparing it with my other 'wicks looks to be about right position wise etc. no major issues other than untidy routing, it'd p[olish up really nice i reckon! and it is arched in the same way a proper thumb body would be! the hardware is all black, the bridge is there but minus a couple of mounting screws and one bridge height adjuster, the two pups are MEC active ones but thats all there is/was, theres no other electronics. the cavity cover is there as are the neck screws and ferrels. with a bit of love and effort i reckon this would make a nice bass - obvioulsy never going to be as good/nice as a proper thumb but nice nevertheless!! so it needs: fretboard sorting, new nut, electrics, couple of minor hardware bits! looking to get back some of what i paid, so how about £150 posted pics: http://s530.photobucket.com/albums/dd344/pal1972_2008/thumb/
