  1. This is more like it, actual experience, thanks. Any recordings or tracks to show off a stiff neck against a less stiff neck? Very interested in the difference in quarter-sawn necks
  2. Further Price Drop - now £649. This is now plundering my private estate!
  3. Been reading about necks and materials etc. Some people say that a stiff neck allows a deep bass sound, others say gives a brittle sound. Is this dependant on how the writers are currently feeling about how a stiff neck will cause strings to react or the actual sound they make? Having only ever played on basses with stiff necks I cannot make my own comment.
  4. Done (Can't listen at the moment, recording Wilko!)
  5. Thanks so much, recording it right now (shhh!)
  6. You can't even buy a decent camera for this, only the body, and that at a knock down price... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pentax-DSLR-Camera-Body-Only/dp/B0099OR49I/ref=sr_1_6?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1369907199&sr=1-6 And I'll bet that body isn't sunburst and doesn't come with a strap
  7. Yep, got rid of a mountain of amps and cabs, accumulated over the years, to pay for Midget/Compact/Streamliner rig. Never looked back. Now looking to start moving basses out to make way for a Ruach.
  8. Cheap. Less than you'd pay to hire an ugly 4x4 for 1 month http://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing-companies/independent-brokers/uk-car-contracts/land-rover/discovery/14152398/
  9. 'Tis a bargain, you're not going to go wrong at that price, look same as a cycling helmet http://www.cyclesolutions.co.uk/p45244/giro-aeon-road-cycling-helmet.aspx
  10. He was young (scooz pun) when he joined. I think he's incerdible, seen a good few AC/DC gigs and he's soloing and on the go the whole gig through. I used to work in Hammersmith Odeon (as it was then) in the '70s and, with early radio 'lead' was taken through the audience on the ground floor on Bonn's shoulders, left to run around the foyer, up the stairs and round and round the bar and back out into the auditorium circle, soloing the whole time without missing a beat. Legend.
  11. I think he's fantastic, while there's natural talent there's no shortcuts to playing well, this is the result of hours of practice while his mates thrash each other on computer games.
  12. Super powerful and sophisticated amp in great condition but not getting used. Ok, last drop, £169.
  13. Talking to Heath at Ruach basses about the next one, this beauty needs to go.
  14. Thanks - and prize goes too.... Seems like you're spot on. The bass looks as though they tried a Ric type body, turned it over and set the neck a a jaunty angle. That's something learnt anyway. 15. Hi basslondon, thanks for the interest, although that would be rather cool, I'm afraid I'm after the dough for the next one.
  16. Never seem to get a really good look at it, but isn't that the nature of the game? http://youtu.be/u1oR72ldCYw
  17. You'd have virtually the same power (don't forget to get twice as loud as 100W you'd need 1000W) in one handy little package. Actually, its quite heavy! With two HA3500s you don't have the X-over to separate the frequencies and levels going to each cab, just the same going to each regardless of cab sensitivity and frequency handling. £174.99?

  19. It's a T-nut. The handle ain't going nowhere, the cab doesn't weigh anything. If you moved it you'd need to find the new balance point (you'll notice its not actually central). I asked Alex about this when I first mine as it seems more logical to put the handle on the top as its more likely to be used sideways on (same goes for the label on the front). Can't remember the reply, only that he wasn't going to.
  20. Can't really tell from that picture, need some more.
  21. So asking Alex about a Compact, going to try one the following week and buying it, and a Midget while I was there, was a unique experience?
  22. I have exactly the same problem with my Streamliner if my Midget is on its side (just last night in fact). The effort of keeping a piece of foam with my stuff, fitting it and placing the amp on top is too much for me. I either put the cab upright or not worry about it and let the Streamliner on the Midget ROCK! ...in every sense.
  23. Keep forgetting about this one - ok, £175 to go!
  24. Thinking of a custom, would like this sold, price now reduced to below bargain levels!
