There is now a waiting list of three for these strings....
-
I wanted old skool thump, but just didn't get on with the flats thing. These are effectively brand new strings. Cut for a standard Jazz Bass.
£12.50 posted? -
One of these, with full details here.
Good condition. Nice bag with fold-away straps and good storage.
UK RRP is £40, if you can find one. I want £20.00 posted or collection in Hampshire/Central London. -
I had two Elrick singlecuts (the first ones in the UK) and I must say they are fabulous basses. Really well put together, very light, punchy and BIG sounding. Highly recommended and a pretty good price too I think.

These are now sold.
NOT REALLY!!!!!!! This is what gets right up my nose sometimes. I ask a simple question, and I get the p*ss taken! All I see is some Black Guy playing some sort of Fender Bass. Thanks for the help guys!
It's Marcus Miller playing his Sadowsky-modified Fender Jazz.
I saw JH at the Portsmouth Guildhall in something like 1989. Backstage passes and everything. Amazing player and a really nice guy to boot. -
No one? How about £15 a set plus postage?
-
Just the one left now:
Patch lead (Male XLR to Female XLR) with Belden cable, one foot long -
-
By the way, the Bravewood body, scratchplate and Voodoo pickup are already sold.
Hi Gareth,
I am no expert on prices by any means but my gut feel is that you are undervaluing the neck and tuners. I am sure I have seen 66 necks go for a grand or more and the oval tuners are worth £2-300 in their own right.
As I say not certain of these values but I think £900 is a very keen price and someone will get a bargain.

Thanks Steve. I'll welcome any and all advice on these prices as this is a market I am not that familiar with (I'm used to selling complete instruments). -
Okay folks, following a bit of research and consultation with BC colleagues, prices for the genuine vintage parts are as follows:

neck + tuners £900 (I'd rather sell the neck as a complete unit)

bridge pickup £220

control plate (plate, pots, cap, knobs - modern jack socket but original included in sale) £150

neckplate and screws £100

neck pu cover (repro screws) £90

bridge and screws £80

thumbrest and screws £40

strap buttons and screws £25
Cheers
Can you post (or if you prefer, PM me) a list of prices that you'd let the parts go for? I'm interested to know the value of some of them and you might even get a few takers!
PM sent. A few expressions of interest already so I'll see how they go before posting full prices for all parts on here. -
he also said Ashdown's high end stuff would always be made in england, which is nice, more than can be said for Ampeg eh!
Did Ampeg make stuff in England? -
Just to confirm this bass is now going to be broken up and sold in parts.
-
That's a tough one guys, as such things are so subjective. I would say tension is medium-tight and feel is pretty good (not rough like some strings, not really smooth like others). Tone? Well that is down to your own ears, but to me I'd say they're quite bright and keep their tone for a long time.
You got rid of that?!? I don't think i'd be able to bring myself to do that.
It sounded lush, but I simply wasn't using it enough to justify it... -
This was mine, but I simply wasn't using it enough to justify the expense....
Sounded lovely though... -
I now have the following left:
4 string sets @ £17.50 each
1 steel set 40/60/80/100
2 steel sets 45/65/85/105
1 nickel set 45/65/85/105 -
Really need the money, so it looks like this bass will be broken up and the parts sold on eBay...
Unless anyone wants to buy any of the parts through this forum? -
Mk II 5 strings were often notoriously heavy. How much does that bad boy weigh?
Check out the Epifani PS600, it's the same spec as the 502 but it's single channel, cheap and viable to import with their switchable voltage as well
I have one. Excellent bit of kit. Using it with two of the Epifani PS 1x12 cabs I have a rig that is small, portable, light and LOUD. It also sounds lovely too. -

One lead left, and it's a patch lead!
