1. I'm looking for something specific for a custom project I'm engaged in. Without going into the whys or wherefores, suffice to say I wish to route the output of two individual strings to a separate jack, or perhaps even a jack for each string. Something like the pickups on a Fender Mustang might work for capturing the two strings together, but ideally I'd like individual pickups for each string! I've found a couple of makers of individual string pickups on the net, but one was from a strange Japanese company and the other is a guy in America whose shop is closed for now due to flooding in Nashville! Aftermarket Mustang bass pickups are also seemingly impossible to find. Anyone have any suggestions for somewhere I can get one/two-string pickups, preferrably here in the UK? Cheers! Teddy
2. I'm interested, where are you based, what are the speakers and can we see pics please?
3. Would you be interested in a Zvex Box Of Metal or an MI Audio Crunch Box in some kind of swap?
4. Hi, I'm searching for a pair of speakers suitable for bass guitar, sized 12". Not totally sold on any brand in particular, Celestion, Eminence etc all worth considering... can be neo or regular, let me know what you've got!
5. I already have a BT head, so I'm interested in the cab alone - I'm sure you'll find a buyer for the head, a few have sold on here and Ebay and seem to hold their value really well. You might actually find it easier to get a buyer for just the head than the two together! Have PMed you yesterday anyhow, so please drop me a line.
6.
That was quick!
Always a good thing
7. Had quite a bit of interest in this - a few people are asking about postage, I had a look into it - for mainland UK it's going to be 35 quid via Interparcel who are the only courier I can find that's willing to carry this as it's over 30KG!
8. Here we have one of the best 1x15 bass cabs on the planet - the Orange OBC115! I bought this recently to pair with my Bass Terror, however I'm hardly playing bass at the minute so it's sitting around doing nothing. I have other, lesser bass cabs if the mood takes me, so I'm ready to move it on. It has a Silverstone padded cover, which cost around 40 quid. It is almost new, but does have a couple of little tolex dings - Oranges are so easy to mark, even if you keep them covered in transit!! They're 458GBP new most places, so I'll start at 350 including the cover, plus actual shipping if you're not able to meet me in Devon.
9. I have actually mummified the amp thoroughly in bubble wrap for a deal that fell through and postage in the UK is looking like about 20 quid.
10.
Whats the impedence on the amp? i.e. does it run into 4 or 8 or however many Ohms.
It can run at 4, 8 or 16.
Roughly, how much does it weigh?
The amp weighs 23kg, a lot of that is in those huge transformers!
11.
Bought one of these new from Carlsbro's in Chesterfield when they first came out in the mid 70s I think it was. Wish I still had it, a monster of an amp!!!!!!!!
Well, here's a chance to own one again!!
12.
hiya, do you have any pictures of the top of the chassis? Would you mind saying who the tech is aswell and could you point out which caps have been changed most of those look very era accurate.
Hi umph! Well noticed on the period-spec caps - that pic is in fact of the chassis PRE-service! I've just opened her up and took some up-to-date pics (now in original post) - I also remembered that the tech put in new pre tubes too actually, JJs, but I also have some NOS tubes I'm willing to bung in if someone's interested. If you need any closer detail pics of the innards, I've left the amp open on my desk for the moment so feel free to ask! The tech was Pete of V-Amps, as you can see from the invoice I attached - he is the guy used and recommended by Mansons in Exeter for all their amp repairs. He's good, but also takes an age as he has a lot of work backed up!!
Wowza, why don I live in Inglan?
You could be in luck, as my band gig in Belgium regularly - in fact, the two gigs the amp's done were gigs a couple of weeks ago in Belgium! I would be happy to meet you next time we're over if you're seriously interested!
13. THIS AMP HAS NOW BEEN SOLD. OK, first off, you see these 70s Carlsbro beasts come up from time to time on Ebay, but most are in poor internal condition - I know, I've owned a few and most look like they've never been serviced, let alone recently! The price varies from about 150-300 quid, but a lot of these amps are in need of a lot of work before they're reliable and gig-ready. Well, not this baby! What I'm offering here is an amp that would be perfect for a gigging musician who wants a vintage tone machine that you can actually safely and reliably gig right off the bat - it's just spent 6 months at the end of last year with one of the best techs in the South West, having a total internal work-over at a cost to me of 200 quid! All the major caps have been replaced with the best quality modern equivalents, the bulgin socket has been replaced with a modern kettle lead socket. It has brand new Svetlana EL34s and new JJs in the preamp, but I will also put in 3x NOS Mullard ECC81 and 1x NOS Brimar ECC81 if you prefer as I just bought these with the intention of fitting them. It still has its original legendary Partridge trasformers, the Rolls Royce of vintage transformers - some say they best ever made! They're the same ones used in all the super-expensive Marshalls of the same era. I've seen these trannies fetch hundreds themselves, and I'm aware that some people buy amps like this simply to cannibalise for the trannies alone. This particular example is in fair condition cosmetically, a few scuffs as you'd expect and a bit of tolex scuffed off the bottom - it'd be great for a gigging musician who wants something with a bit of old school, weathered visual kudos! Sound-wise, it's pure vintage British valve tone - and then some. This amp is a real monster! I used to own a Marshall Superbass MKII and this certainly competes with that. It's got two channels, the first of which is designed as a bass/keyboard input - it has a huge bottom end. Interestingly, it also has an original built-in limiter knob which acts like an attenuator to allow you to drive the amp at lower volumes, something I've never seen before on any other vintage amps! Since the service, the amp has been gigged twice and performed wonderfully on both occasions. At both shows I had a couple of people come up and ask me about the amp, as you don't often see these around these days. Main reason for sale is simple financial necessity - plus I'm just more of an EL84 man, my Orange AD30 will always be my one true love! I'm looking to add an American-voiced amp to my stable, and something British-voiced has to make way! Just to recap (ho ho), the service cost 200, the quad of new tubes were also just shy of 100 quid and the amp itself cost me 250 when I bought it. The preamp tubes were about 40 quid, give or take a few quid depending on whether you want the JJs or NOS tubes. I'm willing to let it go for 400 or a good offer. I'm also open to sensible trade requests! I'm based in Devon but could get a courier quote if anyone's interested.
14.
Bump
Is the booster still available? Might be interested!
15. **SOLD** This bass has now been sold to fellow forum member Clarky **SOLD** ESP LTD B-104 in black, lefty orientation. Made in Korea, well-made with good quality tuners and hardware generally. I've owned this bass for a while now as a backup, but it never gets used as I'm not gigging in a band as a bassist these days. It's in very good condition on the whole, bar a little chip on the front, which I have photographed. It's not a big deal in real life. This bass has a good punchy passive sound with lots of low end thump, reminiscent of a Gibson Thunderbird sound. The best thing about this bass for me is its very comfortable, thin neck - going back to my Stingray after playing this feels like I'm wielding a tree trunk! Would make a fantastic first bass for a lefty beginner - also perfect for an intermediate, or indeed as a backup for a regular gigger. Will be sent in an as new Fender padded gig bag (see pics).

17. We all know about this cab and what it sounds like, so I'm not going to wax lyrical on the specifics! Suffice to say it's in very good condition, only a few little nicks in the tolex as you can see in the photos. It comes with a fitted flightcase which cost me around 200 quid and is almost new bar a few scratches as it's never been out on the road! I acquired the cab about 2 years ago and it's been sitting around in its case pretty much unused, save for a few sessions in my studio. The only reason I'm selling it is because I'm in a 2-piece and a cab like this is just too much weight for us to lug - wish we could afford some roadies! . I live in the South West of England but I travel a lot for gigs so can probably work out a meet/delivery further afield sometime - I even go over to Europe frequently if anyone over there is interested. Get in touch and we'll discuss it! If anyone has any ideas for posting such a bulky item, I'm open to suggestions! Given the new cost of these two items combined is well over 800, I think 450 pounds would be a fair price. I will consider trades or part exchanges, particularly for a good 2x12 or possibly some kind of 1x12 or 2x12 valve combo.
18. Anyhow, never mind, I know for future, and it's now SOLD
19.
You can't win 'em all all the time!
Sorry, I posted this ad a while back and at the time didn't see the price thing in rules. Have added one to the main post now.
20. OK, definitely just the head for sale now.
21. I've seen some go on here for 115/120 GBP. This one is basically new condition. How does 110 posted sound?
