Like many, I have just seen this post and am shocked. I bough a CIJ Precision from Si last year and he was a joy to buy from and gave me great and detailed advice on adjusting trussrods on P basses. Will be sadly missed. Gary Williams
  4.
desperately trying to sell my basses to fund this!!!
Hi Mojobass - got your PM thanks. I think it is a slow time at the moment so I guess we both need to be patient :0) Unless someone stumps up the cash you are at the top of the list....
  5.
Hello there, Is there a B or C neck on that beauty? Jan
Hi - from my limited knowledge I'd say it is a B neck - if that is the less chunky one! Fairly narrow at the nut @ 42mm and feels flatter than my 76 Jazz neck in depth. Just roughly measured neck depth at the 8th fret and it is approximately 20mm deep. My Jazz looks about 22m deep at the same point. I was chuffed when I got it as being a P bass I thought the neck would be too chunky for me but is less chunky than my favourite Jazz. Hope this helps!

  8. *** BASS IS NOW SOLD *** With much regret, it is time to sell my Fender CIJ 62 Reissue Precision Bass. I bought this back in October 2009 from Basschat member Simon (Oldgit) - I think it is a 1993-94 model from the Guitar Dater Project website. I wasn't happy with the light basswood body so I replaced it with a Fender USA 62 Reissue 2008 alder body which although slightly heavier, added a certain clarity to notes. The body is as new & unmarked except for a small dimple near the front horn strap button as highlighted in last pic below. Fender USA 62 Reissue 2008 alder body Badass II bridge Nordstrand NP4 Pickup Hipshot D-Tuner CTS solid shaft pots, Switchcraft jack socket and Sprague Orange Drop .047mf capacitor. Gotoh vintage reverse wind machine heads Original Fender chunky 3 ply Tortoiseshell Pickguard Pickup and control cavity screened with copper tape and vintage braided cable used. Weight: 9lbs 6oz I added the new Fender pickguard as I wasn't that keen on the original pinky coloured thin version. Whilst doing this I also screened the pickup and control cavity with copper shielding tape. Straplocks fitted and strap fittings included in sale. So probably well over £500 of refinements made! More information and lots of pics HERE Bass plays and sounds great just as it should, very growly and typical thick fat Precision woody tones. Medium action and the neck is beautifully comfortable with a nice dark rosewood fretboard. Small amount of mojo on the headstock. The laquer cracked slightly when fitting the D-Tuner as shown in the second to last pic. Will come with with brand new Elite Bass strings 45-105 and gig bag plus the remaining spare Gotoh machine head for the E string. I am based near Horsham, West Sussex which is about 25 minutes away from Gatwick Airport. Looking for £475.00 plus £25.00 shipping within Mainland UK. No Trades.
  9. ** NOW SOLD * This one hurts! I am selling my Status Series 2000 4 string. It's just not getting played as often as it should. I have owned this from new and bought it from The Bass Centre back in 1992/1993. It has an amazing black/turquoise graphite finish that shows up depending on the light as you'll see in the pics below. Looks like blue snakeskin! Serial No: 764 I'd give the condition as 9.5 out of 10 as the bass is immaculate and very shiny (you can see my reflection in the photos) with just a few small marks. There is a small surface scratch below the G string in front of the neck pickup that I tried to highlight in the photos - see second to last image. It is really only visible if you look for it and hold it up to the light. There is also a small blemish in the weave on the back of the neck - looks like a dent in the photo but the blemish is below the laquer. For those that haven't played a Status bass, they have a very snappy tone, incredibly low action and are so easy to play all your favourite Level 42 slap lines. But that is really only half the story.... This bass also does great "super" Jazz tones plus some nice P Bass woody old skool sounds. Bass plays and sounds great just as it should, very low action, very bright and funky. More information and lots of pics HERE Will come with with 2 x brand new sets of Elite Bass double ball end strings 40-100 and Status gig bag. Straplocks fitted and strap fittings included in sale. I am based near Horsham, West Sussex which is about 25 minutes away from Gatwick Airport. Looking for now reduced price of £1,000.00 plus shipping cost within Mainland UK. No Trades.
  10. Bump - although Chorus pedal now sold, this beautiful Retro-Sonic Phaser is still for sale!
  11.
Is it not hard wired to the deep setting? If you bought it new from Analogman this would be a request, if you no nothing about it then it's safe to assume no
Hi there - no I didn't request this when I bought it from Analog Man - sorry! :0)
  12.
Does the mini-chorus have the "deep" mod?
Hi - no this one doesn't have the additional Deep toggle switch.
  13. Hi guys - due to my compulsive desire for buying bass synth pedals, I am selling my beloved boutique chorus and phaser pedals which just don't get a look in anymore! First up for sale is my Retro-Sonic Phaser pedal - another ultimate quality "boutique" pedal. Tru Bypass and simply outstanding! I should add this uses an exact repro of the original MXR 90 and has an independent vol pot to control the effect level. Currently £140.00 plus P&P on Charlie Chandler's site. I am looking for £90.00 including P&P within UK. Retro-Sonic website ***Analog Man Mini-Chorus NOW SOLD *** Both pedals are in immaculate condition and as you can see from the pics, I have the original boxes and instruction manuals. Thanks for looking!
