1. I really dont think you want to try and send a 48v Phantom Power supply into any unit via an XLR Output. The XLR output won't accept Phantom Power into the the unit, as it's not a Mic Preamp. You quoted the answer after your question Phantom Power is to power Condenser Mics and not a way to provide pedals with 9volt power over an XLR out
2. Kaoss Pads are a lot of fun indeed, very cool performance toys. The build quality of the KP3 is a marked improvement on the old models from what I'm told.

4.
I live in between Sandbach and Middlewich so I could pickup within a reasonable radius of that area.
Would that be Elworth ? I'm truly amazed to see the word Sandbach mentioned on a Bass Guitar forum! I lived on Congleton Road for a fair while. I'll be going to the Bass day, but I'm not in Cheshire anymore. It would be funny to hear tales of modern day Sandbach, to see if it's changed in any way.
5. I just got one of these last week. I'm rather impressed. Nice sound, small size on the board and I like the mid switch. Pity about the plethora of extra controls being hidden away inside the case, and not available on the outside for easier tweakability. Tracking is more than useable on my 4 string.
6.
I have been looking around and trying to find a company that can make custom cases. This might be hard as I think that would be a pricey project. Another idea someone gave me was to use a case for a plasma/LCD. Seems like a good idea I just need to measure on out. Not too many options... Any ideas?
It seems obvious, but I don't know if you seen this site - www.pedalboards.com ? I imagine it would be expensive, but they do a flightcased board in just the same shape as your board.
7. Dawsons should not expect you to return the items back to them under your own steam. They should be offering to collect the items from you. When returning goods, I would recommend you take note of any consignment numbers used by the couriers, so you can track the goods. This can guard against the good old "We ain't had the stuff back yet mate" if they won't refund until the goods are back with them. I can sort of understand that comment coming from retailers in this climate though, as many people do try to play the game and get refunds for stuff, but not return it. I'm obviously not suggesting that is the case here! In my experience Dawsons don't stock, and just don't generally understand Hi-Tech equipment. They are good for overpriced accoustic guitars, and sheet music, and maybe a tambourine at a push. I'd probably just go elsewhere in all honesty. I don't "hate" Dawsons at all, I just wouldn't trust them with my time or money when considering any equipment that could be considered out of the ordinary or remotely hi end.

13. Its a bit mean to blame retailers like GAK for the lack of availabilty of these pedals. Manufacturers and distributors often give retailers false E.T.A's on release dates in order to get the retailer to advertise it early, so as to build a buzz about the product. Typical cynical marketing BS. Obviously the retailer will happily take deposits on pre orders, but they have absolutely no control over the manufacturers shiping schedules. I must admit, I'm not too interested in these pedals, except for the synth one.
14. Cheers for the offer Nick, I'm on the Sussex coast, so not too near you. There seems to be just about room for the two extra pots, probably not ideal for people like me with sausage fingers! There are a few pictures of succesfully modded Nano BassBalls in that TB thread I linked earlier. I'm just keen to get more mileage out of the gear I allready have, as opposed to GAS'ing for more kit.
15. Hello Again, Another question about Pedal Mods from newbie Mr Wud! I'd noticed a thread on talksass regarding fitting knobs to bring the internal trim pots out on the Nano Bass Balls. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=558116 I'd love to do this, but I don't feel confident enough about it to risk breaking the pedal. Does anybody here in the UK know somebody on this forum who's good at this sort of thing, or any companies who might be able to help ? I did search before posting but didn't find anything. Apologies if linking to other forums is not appreciated.

Vox Tonebender Mods

Hi Chaps, Many thanks for the links Nick. I'd googled various topics relating to Vox Tonebenders, but never came up with anything relating to them specifically. there seems to be a lot of info regarding modding fuzzfaces, but not Tonebenders I think you may all be right though, in that it's probably better to leave it stock if I ever thought about resale value. I'm not looking at selling, as I do get great tones using it in a blender. I didn't know they fetched such large sums of money.
17. Hi, I've recently obtained an old Vox Tonebender MKIII - http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/vox/c.../tonebender/mk3 Seems to be the later model with silicon transistors. I like the sound I can get with it, but was wondering if anybody here knew of any info regarding modding it for better use with bass? I was also wondering if it would be possible to add an LED or Power socket ? I'm handy with a soldering iron, but know next to nothing about circuits and components etc, but I'm keen to try something new. Thanks
