Hi Etienne. Thanks for those kind words! I bought a Mesa Boogie Carbine (although it says Fathom on mine) combo, and its wicked! Problem was, when I went to get it from Bass Direct, I sort of accidentally bought a Roscoe Century Standard as well, on top of the new ACG and Fender P Deluxe I bought a couple of weeks ago, so need to sell some stuff to keep my long sufferring poor wife happy! After all, its a joint bank account that pays for my toys............... Could be few more things up for grabs soon. Shuker Jazz/Sandberg Basic/PRS Mira guitar anyone? Cheers, Bob -

GENZ BENZ GBE 750 amp and Proel rackcase I have heard, GAS'sed after and now bought another amp, so my beloved Genz Benz amp is up for sale to help pay for it. In perfect condition, the amp, which puts out 675w into the cab (4ohms) is contained in a Proel lightweight rack case, and has a 5 band active eq with signal shaping, tuner mute, etc, controllable through the solid 5 button footswitch (included). There are 2 channels, valve or fet front end, mixable if required, and the sound is quite superb from either, as is the build quality. Reduced to £595. Cant possibly go any lower than this! Thanks for looking, Bob

ACG Finn fretless bass. Totally mint in every way, it really pains me to sell her, as I love playing fretless for fun, but have a new (fretted) ACG nearly with me, and need to thin out the flock a little. My band does not afford any opportunities for me to gig with her, and it would be nice if someone else could get full enjoyment from this ultra-lightweight (less than 7lbs, I guess), stunning looking bass. She has both piezo pickups and a humbucker, blendable as Alan describes below. The fingerboard is lightning fast and really black ebony, with a flamed maple, laminated and asymmetrical neck. All the fittings, including straplocks, are black, and the photos do not do the bass any justice. As you all probably know, black basses can be a b****r to photograph! A mint Hiscox case is included. Here's how Alan describes the specification: Alder body with a 3 piece Flame Maple neck and Indian Ebony finger board. Alloy side dots 16" radius. Hipshot bridge with Graphtech piezo saddles and an ACG RFB pickup. ACG EQ01 pre-amp with the piezo feeding on of the low pass filters and the RFB the other. This allows full EQ over the piezo and the RFB and also allows you to blend the two. Thanks to John East for the additional electronics required to get this to work. I'm looking, please, for £875.
Didn't bobpalt or whatever his username is sell that on ebay? Was it him? I remember the bass for certain and was tempted by it.
Absolutely right. It was mine. I imported it from the States after looking at it on the Bunnybass site for ages, trying to decide whether I thought it was the most beautiful bass I had ever seen, or was I starting to lose it........... From memory, after paying the import tax and duties, etc., it cost me about £1,200 or so, and I was very pleased when it arrived. Problem was, it was just too pretty to gig with, as at the time, we were doing mainly pubs and British Legion clubs. It wouldnt stand up either, but that was a minor problem. It sounded superb, especially on 18v, and was superbly tactile, with a body and neck to die for. The other basses in the Simmons range were all pretty ugly though (I think one of the ugliest was called Taurus or something similar), and to this day, I have never seen another Echo for sale. either here or on US ebay. I was told that Simmons were quite a new company, I think Mr Simmons himself was an ex serviceman who retired into the world of luthiery, but would be going places. I cant knock his skills, as it really was a lovely bass, made with top quality woods, as long as you liked the shape. I seem to remember reading a test review in one of the American mags once? Nice to see her go to a good home. Cheers, Bob
Hi, I'm thinking of buying a Danelectro '63 long scale bass. I love the styling of Danelectro and the reviews are positive but I wondered if anyone out their in the world of basschat has played/owned one and what they thought of it. thanks Dante. . .
I've got one! A black longneck. Its a really nice bass once you set it up properly, although the neck really does sometimes feels quite long. The sound is very good, especially played with a pick, and I have a matching '63 guitar as well. Only trouble is, I never play them any more, so will be selling them @ £250 the pair soon! Bob

There must be something in the air today! The NS has been on here a couple of weeks with only a couple of nibbles, then this morning, within the space of an hour, 3 Basschatters contacted me to say they would have it for the advertized price! Sorry to any of you guys who are disappointed, but I will have to let it go to the first buyer, unless of course the deal doesnt go through, in which case I hope you wont mind if I get back to you in order? I have never been in this situation before............. Cheers, Bob

A couple of years ago, I bought a new Trace Elliot 715x 1 x 15" combo, with the intention of, when funds allowed, buying a 2 x 10" cab to sit on top, as shown in the brochure, to double the power output. I gigged with the combo itself a few times, and was more than happy. Anyway, when I got round to buying the 2x10 cab, I couldnt believe that it didnt fit on top of the combo, being much deeper, and certainly not as depicted in the sales literature. I politely complained to Trace (Peavey), and was told that yes, they didnt fit as I desired, the depiction in the brochure having been Photoshopped, not photographed using real items, and apologized. They were absolutely brilliant about it, and sent an engineer to my home to remove the 715x amp itself from the cab and mounted it into a new cab with 2 x10" speakers and a horn, and exchanged my 2 x 10" cab for a 15" cab (1518c). The combo now sits beautifully on top of the 15" cab, and I have the only 2 x 10" 715x ever made! I have now moved on to Genz Benz equipment, and the Trace rig is for sale. Its been gigged about 10 times, and is in as new condition, with the exception of one tiny ding on the top of the combo where something in the van toppled over onto it in transit. It comes with the (unused) 4 way pedal and slip covers, and is a chance to own something a little bit different! Being a fairly big thing, collection would be much preferred, but I'm sure I could arrange some form of delivery if needed. I would like £600 please. Richard is a new member, but was excellent to deal with when he bought my Hofner Club today. No problems at all. Welcome to BassChat! Bob
Bob, there seem to be two current ranges of Hofner basses - the club bass at around £1,100 and the contemporary series at around £400. I assume yours is the more expensive type ? They look similar, but presumably they use diferent wood, pickups, etc ? What condition is yours in? And what is a bump ? Richard
Hi Richard. Mine is the real thing, made in Germany, presumably by hand using better quality materials, and its actually a limited edition model. Its in really good condition, and comes with a superb aluminium "bullet" case, specially fitted for this bass. From memory, I think its list was about £1,250, but you dont see many of them around. It has gold fittings which normal Clubs dont have as well. A bump is when you add a message to the thread, which then takes it back to the top of the pile (where more people see it) ! Bob
