Hi guys, Was wondering if anyone else had issues with the Micro Br and getting a strong signal through the external mic/line out. I have bought one of those mini sony condensor mics and I am hardly getting anything from it at all. I have tried having the Micro Br being plugged in with a power supply and also have tried adjusting the sensitivity. Also tried other microphones and seems to be struggling to get any type of signal. Was just wondering if anyone else had this issue or whether people have been using external microphones without any issues. Thanks in advance

Seems like you got the basic idea to get yourself familiar with working through chords. I would say definately transcribe some jazz blues walking basslines. I found this great after learning all the rules! Play chordal tones on strong beats etc. I would transcribe some of the jamie abersold tracks with Ron Carter on them. You can easily hear the bass. ITs great cause you learn how to play in a jazz feel as well as some tasty lines that you can combine with lines you have already worked out. Transcribing and just listening to lots of jazz in general and give you the idea of getting a good jazz feel as well as get an idea on appropriate phrasing. Keep up the good work

I generally save it for very special occasions. Basically when I didn't have to drive to a gig. The best one for me was free drinks for the whole band all night with shot chasers after every round. Chatruesse was the weapon of choice. I remember the first set but the second set not too well! All I remember was when a song finished giving a 20 dollar note to a random person in the front row and ordering him to buy me a beer and a shot and what ever he wanted. After doing that a couple of times I ended up falling off the stage into a bucket full of ice, getting up to then fall into the drummers kit. He didn't mind to much luckly. (Usually very precious with his gear) he was just as drunk and he had his top off (he never does that)! FUn times but I would say 99percent of gigs am sober cause I like to be in control. (basically dont trust my sub conscious) although never let me down

Hi i was just wondering, can you get away with doing gigs just going through a DI and have no amp? Are people still running amps with these DI's or are they just going straight into front of house with you hearing yourself through fold back? I am new around here and don't have a car and if I could get away with DIing for gigs that would be awesome! Just checking to see if it is acceptable. Thanks

I haven't really got much of an idea how many gigs are going on in town! I have landed in Fulham SW. So I am surrounded in public transport if the opportunity to gig came up! MarkBass seems to be a popular amp over in the UK. It has been slowly trying to break it in Australia! I am actually interested in what there effect pedals are going to be like
