1. My ex used to refer to her, ahem 'ladygarden' as Captain Beaky...go figure
 2. I've got a Big One... oh matron etc etc It's very nice with my Little mark Tube
 3. I'm with the OP to some extend in that I find it mawkish, sentimental and ultimately pretty cringeworthy. Don't get me wrong, I do have a certain fondness for my basses and would be sad if they were destroyed in a fire or whatnot, but at the end of the day they are just things, just tools for doing a particular job. I just happen to believe that being overly attached to ones possessions is not a healthy state of being. I think this explains my automatic revulsion to the idea of naming them - to my mind it seems like misplaced sentimentality. But whatever, if that's what floats your boat, then go for it, I guess it doesn't do anyone else any harm...
 4. once more into the breach...
 5.
If I knew how to use emoticons there would be one laughing its' head off at that .
Cheers... I aim to please
 6.
I guess people think a bunch of pretty boys can't be worked hard.
Depends if Jimmy Saville is around or not....
 7. Wow, this is all getting very Daily Mail... sheesh, the guy only nicked a photo of a bass off an old advert ffs It might well have been a very good photo, but it's hardly a piece of art is it?
 8. Well I was a big Joy Division fan 'back in the day' and I can appreciate his distinctive style on those early records, but I don't really get the idea of him presenting a masterclass in playing bass. I'm sure he's a nice guy and has some interesting stories etc., but I can't see how he can impart much in the way of bass playing knowledge. And I don't personally like the way he seems to be cashing in with his recent tour playing the Joy Division stuff. It's simply not JD without Ian Curtis. These old rock stars should either do something new or go away and retire to the country and grow tulips or something.
 9. Hi.... 250 and 600Hz Cheers
 10. Some photos added... http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/1708228661
 11.
Any decent band who get paid gigs offer their music for free. You know it's the future.
Indeed. I like albums - I like the whole package, the artwork, the owning of an actual physical product etc etc but that's because that's what I grew up with. I don't believe that most of today's generation think the same way - I think they are quite happy with dowloaded music, and inevitably alot of that will be downloaded/acquired for free.
 12. Hi, no sorry, only after cash
 13.
Sly and Robbie.
Beat me to it. Tom Fowler/Chester Thompson from Zappa's mid 70's band.
 14. Ok, I'm flogging my Ibanez SR505 which I bought from crack convertors online early last year. Apart from a couple of tiny marks near the neck pickup, the bass was absolutely mint when I bought it - it didn't appear to have ever been played. It has a few new minor scratches along the top edge of the body, but otherwise is just as good as when I got it. It has never been gigged, only used at home/rehearsal. I've set it up with a reasonably low action and it plays really well. I'm selling it because, although I really like the playablility of the bass (lightweight, slim neck etc), I wasn't entirely happy with the tone I was getting for some of the funkier things that I play, so I've upgraded to a SR1205 which is to my mind is a definite improvement. Don't let that put you off though, loads of people seem to love the SR500 series, so what do I know.... It is the newer model with the switchable mid eq, so specs are as per the Ibanez website http://www.ibanez.co...=2&series_id=17 It comes with the original gigbag and I will fit the new set of Elixir strings that came with my SR1205. (if I can find them I'll also throw in the original Elixir's it came with - I really don't care for them myself) I want £300 for it, and would prefer collection from Birkenhead if possible, however I will post if absolutely necessary - £30 for Postage and packing Some photos... 15.
IF you're now asking instead, why it should be illegal to smoke dope then that's a whole different question.
Well of course that was what I was asking...sheesh. I realise now that I must have confused you by using the phrase 'criminalised' rather than 'illegal. Perhaps you have been drinking.
 16.
Either you don't read too good, or you scanned over previous posts to get to the bit where you wanted to endorse what you do. I did say why - twice.
I can read perfectly well thanks very much. You did say why what? I asked you if you drink alcohol. I've re-read your posts and can't see where you mention this.
Not everyone that uses this forum is a teenage kid, or someone who hasn't quite grown up yet.
Wow, smug and patronising at the same time.
 17.
But you didn't; you stated that you often commit an illegal act, why are you then a criminal. One generates the other, just as much as if you'd been going the wrong way down a one-way street, nicked a bottle of vodka out of Asda or robbed the crown jewels. Not any of them on a par with the other - but all illegal acts.
Nah, sorry this still doesn't make sense. I stated that I sometimes smoke dope, which currently happens to be illegal. I questioned as to why the smoking of dope should be a criminal act, i.e. why should it be illegal, and your answer was that it's illegal. Guff.
 18.
I obey any law that is relevant to my actions at that time and that which I am aware exists; it's as much as any responsible person does. With your attitude it's as well you didn't own a shop in the riots or have a job that replied on one of the destroyed ones.
So you would obey any law then? You are the very model citizen.
So you hang out with a gang of users & you take that as a general consensus for 60 million people? Seriously?
No, I just know some other people who also smoke dope. I also know an awful lot of poeople who don't. I take it you don't therefore drink, given that you appear to be trying to take some kind of moral high ground here? Or do you not count alcohol as a drug?
 19. I smoke a little bit of dope now and then. Why should I be criminalised for that?
Because it's illegal.
What? It should be illegal because it's illegal? I was questioning the rational basis for the illegality of cannabis and that's your answer?
A civilised society doesn't pick & choose which laws it wants to follow or not.
Even if the law is an ass? You would blindly obey ANY law? Really?
Isolated cases of "I'm alright" don't outweigh the cases of the majority
But the majority of cannabis users that I have known are 'alright'.. sorry, but this is guff.
