Cleaning the lens of your smartphone with a slice of ham is really not a good idea. 

I always thought of it as being part of Les's high standards of production.  Like Hollywood, a little dab of grease on the lens makes the subject look even warmer and fuzzier.

In this instance, I'd liken old-time cinema heart-throb Bette Davis to a Kebab just for illustrative purposes.  I have no idea if she preferred lamb or mutton though.
