4.
this thing makes me wet! interested in any trades?
Yeah I would be interested in trades, try me.
5. You could get a righty, string it upside down and move the strap button, if you're playing punk like me you never need access to the dusty end anyway . I've got a hoppus and it does the one sound pretty well but you might get bored of it in the long run, especially if you want to play anything a little different. So if you're going down the custom route then it would probably be wise to add a few more options just in case.
6. Thanks, I may get one then even if it is just to steal the neck.
7. Cany anyone with one of these confrim that the blocks on the neck are painted? Tried a google search but there is conflicting information.
8.
Absolutely gorgeous. If I had the money I would be all over this. I'll give you a fiver for it
Hmm, a fiver is the winning bid at the moment haha . I think I'll hold out for a bit longer though.
9.
Would you be interested in a Schecter Stiletto Studio 6?
Not really my thing, thanks anyway.
10. Last price drop £350. Would be interested in a stingray or maybe cabs for trades?
11. Bit of a blatant plug but how about a G&L tribute? Loads of sounds available and it's very Fender like so not too unfamiliar (although it's like a p bass not a jazz) Just so happens I have one for sale ;o) http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry766904
12. They are quite different. I pretty much agree with thedonutman, really didn't like the profile on the combustions and they just didn't feel as well made. The B on both of them is really good but I guess that is a given at 37" scale, it felt much better than the other 5's I've played. The ABZ had a great neck, really fast, easy to play and a perfect low action. The passive pickups seemed to have a lot more usable tones compared to the actives in the combustion.
13. Just tried a couple out, hardly even noticed the fanned frets after a couple of minutes. The ABZ really is awesome, wasn't that impressed with the combustions though.
14. Cheers for that, it is a lovely looking bass. Price reduced to £380 collected.
15. Too expesive or no love for the G&L's?
16. I've used it a couple times for amps and bases, great if you're useless at saving like me haha. You can pay more than the 10% deposit as well.
17. That's good news about the fanned frets, looks like a trip to the gallery is in order to check them both out. The abz is pretty tempting.
18. Looking for a bit of advice on these, so has anyone got one or played one to give me an idea of the sound and how easy it is to get over the fanned frets? I'm looking for something to replace my G&L tribute which I haven't really been getting on with as everytime i pick it up I constantly fiddle with the eq and switches, I just haven't been able to tame the output sometimes. I think a 5 string may be the way forward and the dingwalls look awesome, otherwse it may just be another 4 string ray on the cards.
19. Bump for new price.
20. It's actually 4.5kgs so more like 10lbs.
21. I believe it's about 9.5lbs but I'll find some scales and weigh it.
22. G&L L2000 Tribute Blueburst Maple Neck 2 humbucking pickups , 3 band active circuitry Series parallel switch Active with treble boost/Active/passive switch The bass is only a few months old, I've used it for a few gigs and a few practices so it's in very good condition. It has the P-bass style maple neck, plays perfectly. Pictures:
23. Girls Against Boys for a bit of 90's noise. Spinal Tap (well only on one song )
