Could be the 5 grams you need! I like the look of Talmans. The closest I’ve got is just a blank body for one of my bitsas!
https://reverb.com/item/33226909-ibanez-tmb100-blk-4-string-electric-bass-guitar-neck-black-headstock not the cheapest but talman neck for sale.

I just want somewhere to get some of these in stock to try them. Particularly the black or seafoam 5ms and 6 string. As I'm holding funds for one just haven't decided which yet.

Trying out a bit of Anthony Jackson on an Ibanez TMB35. #tagfresh

@Mikey D what is the balance like on a strap? that is the only thing that might scupper it for me as i find neck dive a real pain.
Matt
It definitely wants to move to be perpendicular to the floor...with light pressure from right forearm is stays happily but with no hands it definitely wants to go horizontal.

Reduced to £825 as I don't want to miss out on another bass I've seen.

Have you got it?
Thanks, hoping for more 5 string feedbacks
@james_027 I put his in another TMB35 thread...but I've very very impressed with the bass. Not perfect in finish, but I can't believe this was only £200. If you're even remotely thinking about it, buy one.
Review comments from other thread:
Good news: Great bass. Generally. And for the money. Love the feel of the scale length. Neck a bit thicker than I like for my own preference but very playable and nice unfinished feel. Although the B will be going in favour of high C plays very nice and not too flappy at all. I’ll try and do a recording before changing the strings. Had a quick play through practice amp and through Logic with just a basic preset and sounds nice. Not boutique bass nice but easily nice enough.
Neutral: setup is a bit high for my preference but playable and feels fairly effortless under the hands considering slightly lower tension
Less good news: Looks like Aguilars won’t fit without some rerouting...so may look at other options first. Also nut isn’t placed exactly as per photo but is playable and easy to solve. Finish has some very minor surface scratches so not completely mirror finish but if you really were bothered sure you could buff them out in no time.
I can see myself being taken by the short scale for future basses

Sounds great! Good idea stringing it up E - C. Hmm this gets me thinking......
It's how I have all my 5 strings however I did enjoy playing this with the low B and tempted to string a bass up or get one and have it low B.

@Sibob - I was eager to just get something down so a very rough and ready take but here you go... From Within - TMB35
This is just TMB35 (sorry already strung high C) full on both pickups and tone slightly rolled off treble>original Apogee Jam>logic>quicktime movie recording whilst playing along to the trackIf I get more time I'll do something with better audio.

The best sight....
...although I have back to back work calls until 6pm and then need to put girls to bed before I can open and have a play.
A few extras came to make it my own plus the Aguilar pickups from @walshy. So I’ll start with stock before adding anything but very excited to see how this thing plays up of the box.

I bought a set of PJ Aguilar pickups. Paid via paypal late Friday, shipped next morning on the Saturday and received Monday. Many Thanks for speed.

What's the grey hook on the back?
GLWTS
It’s the ‘upper horn’ strap hook that extends out for if you want to play standing up.

Ha, this was mine - I was the one who got Andy to defret it...only sold it 'cause I needed the cash. Would love to buy it back but would then need to have it defretted once more...
Absolutely amazing bass though, GLWTS.
Hi
I’m letting this go very reluctantly I can assure you. But with 3rd kid on the way all new purchases are being watched even more scrupulously than before so strictly one in one out I may regret it...
and yes yes I did some digging before of past owners on here and worked this out:
Lastrega: ??
Bassmachine (thanks for the ramp!: ?? - Jan/Feb 2016
Pluckedout: Feb 2016 - Feb 2017 (defretted)
PaulS: Feb 2017 - Q4 2018 (refretted)
Sunfish: Q4 2018 - Apr 2019
MikeyD: Apr 2019 - ? -

Does anyone have any recordings of this bass? Would love to hear it.

Hi. If I get the chance this week I’ll do something a bit higher fidelity than some instagram noodling but here are two. The latter was a bit ‘hot’ but between those clippings you can get a bit of a better idea of the Steve Swallow piezo growl:

A very cool bass, always loved that headstock design!
35" is too long for me, but good luck with the sale.
Thanks. Works for my small hands.

And yes they really are a great looking and sounding single cut.

Update: reduced now to £700...impending purchase and wife's eyes on bank funds discount.

A stunning instrument in very good condition. There are some dings as Shown in pictures.
The absolute best Piezo bass sound available. I think someone on here said “the piezo sound to rule them all”.
Currently strung E to high C.
Get that Steve Swallow vibe.

I'm only selling this (along with a few other guitars/basses) to fund a more expensive bass I don’t have the luxury of buying outright currently.

I had a TMB35 at my door earlier...but I wasn’t here, now I have to wait until Monday as UPS don’t do weekends. Hopefully update with views on Monday.

I’m not worried about the B as it’s going to be high C like I have all my 5s.
I’m definitely going to see how it sounds stock before throwing any other money at its electronics.

I have one coming within the week and plan to make a few 'tweaks' to it. If you're remotely around Buckingham way you're more than welcome to give it a go. Tbh I'm in exactly the same position it sounds. Like the Serek's. Would love a MG Mini...but that's never happening.
I sold a handmade jazz guitar recently with plans to get a custom build and before I make the leap I'm going to see how this suits me.
Does anyone have a picture of the control cavity with plate removed? Interested to see what space there is to drop in a preamp/other pickups.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I have a GWB35 with a Nordstrand that I love and would happily drop a few of them into the lower priced 5 string.
-
Fair enough. I couldn't find anything else on other colours. I wasn't keen on the pink but wanted to just check if it was true there were no other colours.
Maybe that's my argument to get a 5 and 6 string Ibanez for not much difference over the Strandberg to the wife. As I'm struggling between the two. I've been solely a 5 with high C player for 15ish years but 6 string before that.
Prefer that black finish on the 6 too.

I tried a lot of basses at Bass Direct this weekend. And really fell for the Strandberg Bogen 5 but I'm wondering if these are remotely in the same league?
Has anyone seen the ehb1005ms appear in Pink now too?! Any other colours on the horizon worth waiting for?
