Four 51 P pickups in total or are they custom designed?

I'll have a look. I think from what I read specs wise they are 38" "Speaking Length". Some say the total length is 50" which I thought was excessive.

I am right in thinking that XL scale strings, (38" ball end to silk) would fit my Dingwall ABZ 4? (E is at 36.25"). Just looking around at different options as I find the .100 E in the majority of multiscale sets too light for my taste.
I use NPS strings and have found that EB make a set and so do La Bella so far, any other recommendations would be much appreciated.

Can we at least have clues? More than "It is definitely not an electrical household appliance" 😁

Whenever I see a @0175westwood29 post in this thread, I look at it like a Spot the Difference puzzle 😅 meant in the most positive way possible!

Passive for the vast majority, I've almost always found that active basses are too hi fi sounding for me.
Plus the simplicity of passive appeals to me, 2 of my basses only have a volume knob, as I can adjust EQ on the amp, that was before I got into using a pedalboard of course which added a host of knobs and settings..

It’s actually a lot sweeter than I’d have thought. Punchy but not sharp. I’d forgotten how nice a 15” cab can be…
Billy Sheehan is of the opinion that a 1x15 is punchier and has more treble than a 4x10, which in my limited experience of those speaker arrangements, I'd agree with.

And, ironically, played on a Fender Jazz 😆
With Roto Tapes no less!

Balls. I would have loved a purple one
Same here, plus as an added bonus I could use the oversize headstock to keep other band mates in line!

I have a 4 string model and it is very playable, the Jazz pickup is a bit weak and the fretboard is "Engineered Rosewood" so it chipped after this clumsy farhkar tried to lean it up against something but, other than that no issues, Hardware all good, preamp seems fine.

In the end despite my resistance I will probably end up going with the HB PowerPlant ISO-10AC Pro.
I use AI to help me break stuff down and wade through info but I do check that what it says is correct as much as possible.
It suggested the following order for my intended pedals to be connected to the PSU:
· Output 1 (9V/250mA): Keeley Bassist Compressor (50mA)
· Output 2 (9V/250mA): MXR Smart Gate (15mA)
· Output 3 (9V/250mA): JHS Haunting Mids (10mA)
· Output 4 (9V/250mA): TC Nether Octaver (10mA)
· Output 5 (9V/500mA): Fishman Platinum Pro EQ (200mA)
· Output 6 (9V/500mA): TC Afterglow Chorus (>100mA)
· Output 7 (18V/220mA): Rodenberg LDP Deluxe (100mA)
· Output 8 (9V/450mA): TC Echobrain (>100mA)
· Output 9 (9V/450mA): TC Skysurfer Mini (100mA)
· Output 10 (9V/450mA): TC Crescendo (100mA)

The point about looking at the power requirements is indeed something to clarify before choosing the product: is 300mA OK or are there higher-draw pedals, are they all 9V, and so-on.
Some power supplies give a mix of 9V/12V outputs and low/hi current capabilities: I've had situations where I'm daisy-chaining 9V pedals and leaving 12V outputs unused.
CIOKS do some which have all the angles covered (switchable outputs, even USB), but they aren't cheap; however, every time I look at my second board I end up thinking I wish I had a DC-7 for that too...
An option is to look for used rather than new.
On the plus side, most supplies will fit under a PT Classic Jr, so size should not be a particular issue.
I'm not especially technical so I've never really understood or paid much attention to mA, V, wether it is 9 or 12V etc, though I'm always willing to learn! After all I managed to learn frequencies for EQ etc rather than blindly turning knobs 😅

More info is needed: what are the individual and total current requirements of your pedals; do you need any/all of the outputs to be isolated; and do you mean you need 8-10 physical outputs, or is daisy-chaining from fewer ok?
But I suspect nothing will be cheaper than the Harley Benton PowerPlant ISO-1AC Pro at £59 delivered. Is it very important how much of the total cost is the product and how much is the postage?
Sorry I should have added more details, as far as I know everything can run on 9V, though my Fishman Platinum Pro EQ and Rodenberg LDP deluxe can also run on upto 18V though not sure of the advantages of doing that?
Also apologies for my ignorance I wasn't aware I could daisy chain from a IEC PSU. I use a ISO-1AC Pro already. I would need power for 9 pedals total. Main reason for not wanting to order from Thomann I didn't want to order stuff I don't need.
-
I'm looking around for an IEC powered PSU that will take 8-10 pedals and mount under a PT Classic Jr. Ideally under £100.
Trying to avoid HB/Thomann as I don't want to have to make up the order to £150 or pay £10 delivery.
I've come across Palmer and Fender Engine Room but these are above my budget.
Any help and suggestions, greatly appreciated!

La Bella Flats (760FM) - P bass & OLP Stingray
DR Dragon Skin on my Dingwall
Fender Nickel (Heavy) or D'addario Heavy on my other P basses.
Rotosound Nickel (Heavy) or Tru Bass Tapes on my fretless basses.

I've always found flats easier to EQ on a P bass, put rounds on one and flats on the other so I always have the option.
Options seem to be the way forward.

GHS Precision and Pyramid's are very, very similar, both high tension and thumpy. Surprised if you liked GHS, then you didn't like Pyramid's.
Not sure to be honest, I put it down to the Pyramids being pure nickel and the GHS being Stainless Steel.
I couldn't get on with La Bella's at first, they sounded very scooped to me but tastes change and I learnt more about how to use EQ etc so they are now my flats of choice.

I used to use GHS but then moved to La Bella 760FM and 760M. I'd definately recommend them.
Tried other brands, Pyramid were really smooth but not quite the right tone, others were too bright even after break in.

Bohemian Like You - Dandy Warhols - We play it slightly slower and it grooves a bit more, lots of potential for fills.
Rebel Yell - Billy Idol - Really nice just to drive it along with drums, again might be the way we play it but it feels like it grooves more than the original.
Sweet Child of Mine - GnR - Energy builds and builds until the end solo, which by then I'm really hitting hard.
Jumpin Jack Flash - This is often our set opener again (anyone notice a theme here?) it grooves, once I'd realised Bill doesn't double the guitar riff and we have fun with it.

I emailed after 14+ working days and they confirmed that they will be posted next day, as it is a small operation like @Alba says probably depends on how many orders they have at any one time.

What do you make of the Fishman? I've had my eye on one of those for potential bass and also occasional acoustic guitar use for years, but never quite got round to pulling the trigger.
Apart from the compressor, its been great, nice that it has an adjustable HPF built in (labelled low cut) handy built in tuner and having the boost option is nice too. The EQ is very well laid out, took me a while to get the hang of the mid frequency sweep but I think that was mainly operator error. They do come up second hand (got mine from the bay) there is a slightly more stripped back version called the Stage.
Didn't like the compressor purely because it was a single knob set up and I couldn't really see what it was doing.

Are you a fan of the FANNED FRET BASS ?

I have a Dingwall ABZ 4 and as @BigRedX says I took to it in 5 minutes, I find the frets fall under my hand better and obviously the optimum tension for each string and the clarity it gives is great, I still use my other basses but I find this really comfy with the thinner frets too.
