1. I've got a 'long' comfort strapp - one which I bought by accident too. A couple of years old; used a little but not often and it's in excellent condition. Happy to trade - I could use a second strap that's the correct length for me. PM me your details and we'll work out a trade by post? I'm in Edinburgh... Pete
 2. Hi all Up for sale is the gig bag which came with my brand spanking new Dingwall SJ4. I've already got a plethora of gig bags and hard cases and don't need this one as well. Really nice and very well padded bag with the Dingwall logo stitched on the front. On the Levy's website, the details can be found at http://www.levysleat...or-2013-CCG119. Much tougher feeling padding than in some of my other gig bags and decent storage in the pockets in the front. It feels more like a softer version fitted hard case than it does a gig bag; it's pretty stiff. Good neck and body support. Light. What can I say, Sheldon Dingwall ships these out as standard with his extremely expensive Super Jazz basses - it's passed his QC! Specs from manufacturers website:

1" multi-layered triple-density foam padding plus end-pin suspension padding
side gusset
nylon lining with polyester string and bridge protectors
adjustable neck cushion
leather handles
double zipper pulls
2" cotton webbing adjustable back-pack shoulder straps
leather neck handle
zippered accessory pouch with hook-and-loop closure pocket
Inside dimensions: 48" long X 15 1/2" wide (at lower bout) X 1 1/2" deep.
Doesn't look like these can obtained too easily in this country - Levy's lists at $205.33 for the non-Dingwall logo'd versions. Let's call it an even £70 shipped in the UK. I have pictured it with my Dingwall for interest. No, the Dingwall doesn't come with it.... Pete Withdrawn.
 3. Hi all Up for sale is a used but very good condition Babicz 4 String Chrome Bridge for Jazz and Precision basses. It comes in the original packaging with the instructions, allen key, and screws which came with it. The bass on which it lived is now sold, so I now don't have a use for it. I like it very much - one of my favourite bridges in terms of adjustability and form. More info at http://www.fullcontacthardware.com, if needed. Paypal gift or bank transfer both fine. £55 shipped in the UK. SOLD Pete
 4.
The cab I've had a sneaky trial of is astonishing, but Alex is keen to tinker further. I don't know if a production date has even been considered yet. That's all I know, I'm afraid...
Thanks WoT. I'm willing to wait and see then...but if I knew something new was on immediate horizon I might hold off just a touch longer. I'm doing a few loud gigs where I don't want to lug my Acme and a single loud cab solution is ideal. The Acme B1 and B2 are brilliant for jazz gigs of various sizes but I've done some funk and function band stuff where i could use the extra welly and can sacrifice the deep low end extension. I'm left with a nice decision - BF Super 12T vs Berg CN212 vs Vanderkley 212MNT vs Genz. Problem is trying to hear them all. Hence some of my interest in drivers/design etc. This thread is both confusing and enlightening.
 5.
The 3012HO is a 'better' (more powerful) driver on paper than the Faital 12PR300, which would be more directly comparable to the Deltalite (2.5" voice coil, similar rated excursion, wattage, broadband sensitivity). But I've not heard the 12PR300, however I have been doing a lot of reading about driver design as well as a lot of listening to speakers, and I think the paper doesn't tell you as much as it seems especially if you go by the usual measures of xmax, wattage, T-S specs and f-response charts. Xmax is an especially over-simplified/over-used measure, that seems to be touted in basscabland as the be-all and end-all when it comes to judging output at high power. For one thing, some drivers behave a lot better beyond 'x-max' than others, and I think that how they start to misbehave differs a lot in audibility/objectionability as well. Smoothness isn't all about the f-response chart either, you can EQ a speaker 'flat' but a good clean PA driver will still sound less coloured than one with poorly suppressed resonances. Comes down to the usual old cliche that you have to let your ears be the judge
Thanks Lawrence. Now I just need to get a BF Super 12T and a Bergantino CN212 in the same room. Easy peasy!
 6.
Faital do make some wonderful drivers (such as the 15FH520), but there is nothing special about the PR300 apart from its upper midrange smoothness. I think it's the Genz Benz that uses the Deltalites. In terms of drivers, that would make Bareface the winner for me with the 3012HO, although not everything is down to the driver.
Is the 3012HO driver that much more impressive than the Faital 12PR300? I'm not much of an expert so would appreciate hearing about how to read the driver charts better. Though if course cab volume, crossover design, the tweeter used, etc, all make a difference to various cabs too...
 7.
. But that would most probably mean that the 112MNT has a different driver than the 212MNT, which sounds a bit peculiar in my ears. I'm guessing there's an answer in physics, but I can't remember my physics classes at all. Someone in the know hopefully chimes in. best, bert
That's true. I wasn't sure about coming to that conclusion either, but the 112MNT is 600w on its own...I assume two of those in a cab would push the power rating to ?1200w? Hence my thoughts around different drivers in 212MNT vs the 112MNT. Purely speculation though...happy to defer to the experts here!
 8. Some interesting info from Talkbass. I've been posting on the Bergantino CN212 thread and one chap says the driver in the cab is a Faital 12PR300 (http://www.talkbass....ml#post14444555). That's most likely the same driver as in the Vanderkley 112EXT (at least according to what LawrenceH has previously thought over in one of the Vanderkley threads). At a guess, from looking at the power ratings etc, I think the Vanderkley 212MNT may have 2 of the Faital 12PR300's? http://www.vanderkleyamp.nl/products/cabinets/neolite/212mnt/
 9. So what's the special secret cab that Alex and WoT keep referring to? Right now, I am extremely interested in the CN212 and the Super 12T, and if Alex has something new up his sleeve I'd be really interested...
 10. Just sold Roger my Tecamp Puma 500. Very straightforward and I would be delighted to to business with him again. Thanks Roger!

 12. I own a brand new Super J in Candy Blueberry - ordered through Bass Direct. 4 string, alder body, morado fretboard. Outstandingly resonant acoustically, definitely on the 'modern Jazz' side tonally but can be warmed up withy the EQ and pickup selector. One of the best built instruments I have ever laid hands on. For comparison, my other Jazz is a Celinder (alder/Brazilian rosewood) which is also outstanding. They're on a par build wise though they sound different. I could happily recommend a Dingwall SJ4 as one of the finest basses I have laid hands on. That includes Sadowskys, Bacchus, Musicman, Atelier, Celinder, Fender, Lakland, etc. Pete
 13.
Hi, Would you ship this to Northern Ireland?
Yep, no worries, I don't see a problem with that. Pete
