Up for sale is my 2011 Loar LH-309-VS archtop guitar in great condition. The stock P90 pickup has been replaced with a Kent Armstrong Vintage Icon Alnico II one, with the pots replaced with CTS ones, and a Switchcraft jack used. The neck angle on this one is perfect, and the action is currently 2mm at the 12th fret, with scope to go lower if required. A wonderful sounding guitar, both unplugged and through an amp, that plays really well. Collection from Beccles, Suffolk much preferred. I do have a box so posting is an option.

I really enjoyed it, and watched the second one with lunch today. Thanks to this thread for tipping me off about them 👍 -
That is all very interesting, thanks for taking the time to update this thread. I'm probably going to replace the wiring/pots on one of my Starfires soon to see what affect that has.

They just seem much thinner than my Low Tension Flats silks.

I was sorting out my music drawer at the weekend and found some flat wounds with thin black silks. I'm pretty sure they are medium scale from measuring them quickly last night. Anyone have an idea what they might be? I thought Labella as there's no silk at the ball end, but the thin silks is throwing me. Cheers.

I'd keep the finish as is and get a white scratch plate. That would look sweet! 😍

Up for sale is my Kay K162V reissue bass in excellent condition. This bass is great, but I’m looking to free up some funds. These reissues are beautiful, and this one has benefited from some further modifications from the factory model that have significantly improved it (in my opinion). These are: Tuners replaced with Kluson ones. Tailpiece replaced with a German made Duesenberg one. Bridge replaced with hand made ebony one. Fitted with Thomastik Jazz Flatwound strings it plays and sounds great. Comes with original case. £650. Collection from Beccles, Suffolk much prefered, but can be posted.

I never did it in the end. Been gigging the Guild and happy with it stock (although intrigue will get the better of me one day……..).
