Hi all,
Bought this from Soundslive.co.uk under a month ago but am moving to a head and cab setup as I find that easier to cope with on my own.
Excellent condition, used only at home - any marks are from getting it out of the box - it's pretty much spotless!
I'll get pics soon, but it looks like a brand new one.
I still have the box and although I would prefer not to, can post for £20 approx. Otherwise it's collection from me in Hertfordshire
Looking for a very respectable £285 which given it has warranty, strikes me as quite a chunky saving!
Cheers,
James -
Wading in with my size 6's
As a musician? I despise the use of backing tracks, but understand the need in some scenarios. I would suggest that it shouldn't be beyond a good band to find a way around not having certain sounds etc in their interpretation of a song but this won't always be the case. We've played some recent stuff and dumped it because we couldn't get THAT sound and the song itself wasn't strong enough without.
As an audience member? If I can tell it's a backing track, I HATE it and feel very cheated. However, what the ear can't tell the iPod gets away with - if it's subtle then you'd get away with it. I appreciate that as a musician, I am a far more critical audience member than most (sour bunch, aren't we).

Fairly loud, fairly unpleasant and given the age probably not that guaranteed reliable unless recently serviced.
It'd have to be CHEAP to make it worthwhile over a SS Peavey if you're thinking of a backup? -
Hi all,
Just wondering, I've always been very conservative when it comes to strings and almost always just grab a set of Elites Stainless.
However, I see 'Low tension' bandied around - how does this work when the string is at the same pitch? Does it feel weird?
Any recommended makes to try out first?
Cheers,
James -
There's a chorus and possibly flanger on that second one too, no?

Time to open a can of Stella and let nature take it's course?

My 70's classic jazz is like that, but I don't really care as it's still solid....

Nah, Geof means he's bidding on my Cort which finishes tonight....if he gets outbid then etc. etc.

What's the theory behind this? I'd have thought more mass = bettar tonez!11
Or is it a balance thing?

I'm no psychic, but I'm guessing we're gonna see a fair amount of 'Ashdown' here....
I'll start. Ashdown MAG 600H. Lasted ONE rehearsal. -
The above sounds good - I'd never heard this (or any of his stuff) - NICE, can you recommend an album to go for?
Cheers,

That white jazz IS tempting, but I decided against it on the basis that I'd only spend my time fiddling with the EQ (I like my Jazzes all up full) and not concentrating on what I'm supposed to be playing!

Oh and I meant to say, in the event that this goes for more than I paid for it (after ebay fees are taken out) then I'll donate the difference to Basschat, shouldn't be profiteering going on here! Will liase with the admins and OldGit to ensure all stays fair

Hi flip,
Weight is very light - nothing compared to my Jazz! As for the balance it's also very good.
To update the original post this is now on ebay:

Never far from my email I'll try and stay connected as I have the Cort and the Fecker on ebay!

Then you need a GB44 Now, if only I could think of someone selling one....hmmm......

Now on ebay, come on BC'ers, someone from here buy it and keep it in the family!

I kid you not, try one of the Classic Vibe Squiers at the moment. These are, pound for pound, the best value in the Fender lineup at the moment. Stunning basses for very little wonga.

Thanks mate, these are outstanding value, no doubt. I've often found some five-strings have a rather dead sounding B, but this is very nice indeed!
