I totally agree with you greg, we should all be supporting our local music shop, but sadly the difference for me is not a little extra.
My local charges £24 for D'ads. Stringstar have just sent me some, complete with order tracking, arrived next day for £14.
The tenner, for me, is just not an acceptable amount of markup to be paying. -
Thanks mate, bit of luck it'll find a good home

Bass is for sale once more after buyer failed to show for an agreed meetup. One wasted lunch break and a £20 parking ticket later and the bass goes back up for sale or P/X with cash my way.
-
As long as the paint is not damaged (lacquer flaking or crazing) then Autoglym Super Resin Polish, available from Halfords for about a tenner, produces very nice results.

Excuse my ignorance, I've not seen these that much before, but in the shot of the headstock it looks like there should be two retaining screws running down through the nut - but there aren't?
Is this correct? Or do they serve some other purpose?
Cheers,
James -
Ta matey, just done it!

Will update the thread asap once I've more info

Sorry, it's sold - I can't find the facility to lock the thread

Thanks Mojo, but not my thing I am afraid

Had it about a month now MB1 and although it sounds great, i'm not gelling with it as I hoped
If I had limitless funds, it'd be worth keeping, but as is I'd rather get something that will get more play-time.
Cheers,
James -
Hi all,
Just recently bought this but as I have small hands I am finding the neck a bit of a struggle, being used to the slim Jazz necks.
Looking to get back what I paid for it, £250 (now dropped to £225) but can include a hard case which fits it well for £35 on top, otherwise it will be well packed in a suitable box. Postage would be around £15-20 inclusive of the hard case and appropriate insurance.
Cheers,
James -
SOLD

Hi Chaps,
Sorry for being so rubbish and not having got any shots up - will do this tonight!
Cheers,
James -
It is, a perfectly useable bass that really sounds and looks the part!
Will get pics when I get five seconds of time over the weekend! -
Anyone able to help me out here? £400 bill just rolled in for my car!
I need to sell the above, it's a Westfield Thunderbird Bass copy.
Pics to follow, but really needs to be collection (Hertfordshire) if possibleas it'll be a git to post. However, if you REALLY want it posted, I can do so for £20 (includes packing)
Just been restrung and cleaned and polished (lovingly). All electronics work. No real marks bar one line which is on the scratchplate and body near the controls, not noticeable from a distance at all.
£60 for a quick sale!
Cheers,
James -
Agreed, my favourite type of bassplaying - not showy-offy, not Mr Flashypants, but solid and there to support the song.

Now offered to Bentdice for 1st refusal
Thanks,
James

Hi and welcome
Sorry, but my name is James too.
Can we call you 'Terry' or something? It'd be easier....
