1. I'm from Sintra currently living in Kent
2. I'd spend them on lessons with a very good teacher you wouldn't normally use. I.e. Steve Lawson, Dave Marks, etc...
3. Only owned 4 basses and still have two jackson EL1 Ibanez SR 1005 Spector Euro LX 5 natural T-bass by status doubt I'll sell the last two.
4. From Bass Player magazine "Spector calls its EQ the TonePump circuit. With 20dB of boost, the TonePump is a more powerful version of the aggressive 2-band 9-volt EQ Spector has used on its U.S.-made neck-through basses since the late '70s. I tend to favor instruments with pickup blend controls and 3-band EQs, but I found that the Euro LX's TonePump with twin volume controls offered plenty of flexibility and was easy to get used to." Some people don't like them I love it.
5. £500 would be ok when they were priced £1000 now they cost £1500 so that may be on the short side, I reckon that the reserve will be around £750 Just read that the tone pump is out so I'd take about £200 of my price which places it around the same as the others.
6.
It seems like portuguese bass players are taking over basschat welcome pbat
Indeed @Pbat oh yeah I remember you contacted me via the Portuguese forum.

8. Olá bem vindo Finalmente mais um portugues no forum. Gostava de exprimentar esse Alleva Coppollo translation Welcome Great to see another Portuguese around here You probably can figure it out what I said about the AC
9.
If I remember correctly, when using my MarkBass combo to record, I took a line from the DI out socket to the desk. This is before the main volume in the signal chain, so I could use the gain control to set the DI out level, and have the main volume at zero, hence no sound from the speaker, and no driving the power amp with no output load. Don't know if the F1 works the same way.
just as a reassurance I emailed Markbass and in less than 5 minutes I got this Hi David, Firstly I'd like to thank you for contacting us and for choosing Markbass. You can use the F1 amp as preamp without connect a cabinet, no problem. Just for more safety we suggest to set the master level to zero (it's not necessary but better for the amp longevity). Feel free to contact me for any further question. Best Regards.
10.
David, why do you want to use an amp? You can plug your bass into the H4 directly. The H4 has amp simulation which is quite good if that's what you want.
Hi Tim Because I want to use my F1 more while i'm bandless and try some settings. But I might try your suggestion and connect the jamman to the H4 and to the pc. I'm experimenting at the moment really.
11. Thanks guys That now poses another question since I wanted to use my MarkBass F1 to connect to the H4 for recordings and the F1 does not have headphones how can I cut the sound coming through the cab if I don't want to wake up the neighbours?
12. Very nice price, but I was told by the missus that we are saving for a wedding and not more basses
13. Hi all I'm thinking about setting up a permanent space for me to practice and improve on my skills and initially was thinking about using my Warwick Blue Cab Combo but then I thought i could use my Mark Bass F1, what I want to do is to use the amp to send the signal via DI to my H4 that's being used as an audio interface, would this be ok, use an amp without having any speakers plugged in? Thanks in advance
14. Hi everyone I've dowloaded beatcraft to use it a drum machine tool, does anyone have any templates or samples I could use? Any styles welcome Thanks David
15. I don't know i'm still trying to find out.
16. I'm considering buying another when I have more cash they are really good, albeit a tad on the heavy side. But their looks factor is right up there and with the cover on they look sweet.
17.
That sounds fekkin lush!!! More so with the F1 IMHO. Also I like the fact that he spent five minutes talking about shifting this and that to emulate the sound of just turning the vpf on the f1 lol.
That's what I do with mine. Oh yeah baby it sounds good. And I don't have a Coppolo a stack with either 2x10 or 2x12 or mixed will be plenty to cut through all your gigs, now what you need to decide is what you need from a cab, the 2x12 are boomier than the 2x10 so you really need to think what you are looking for. And also due to the placement of the cabs tall as opposed to sideways you will find that you will need less volume than what you currently using as both cabs work great off axis.
18. Hi i have one of those cool cabs and plus one for the cover You can get more information on them here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=88415 and here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=84235&hl=rs210 and this is a video of a guy that does a great comparasion
19. I used to be in a band where we did a medley of U2 with 6 songs or so and people seem to enjoy it. Unfortunately you are down there Monday would have been cool for me too.
20. What he said. I only played at the Bull and Vic but I avoided it like the plague, it can be a bit rough. I used to live in dartford.
21.
Good to see some T-basses around recently. I aquired a 4 not so long ago and I gotta say it sounds amazing!
Oh yeah It took me 10 years to buy one. I first touched one back in Portugal, my teacher bought one and I always wanted one for sometime. It was a xmas gift from my wife to be in 2008. She knows me all too well.
22.
oh great, thanks, now I have to get a tc electronic cab!! what made you mix the TC and the compact? why not two of each? Just curious. Oh dear, when will this bass envy cease??!!!
I repplied to your Pm but I thought I'd paste it here too. I'll try and keep it short I was playing with the compact only and as loud as it can be it didn’t have the quick response and the tight mids I was used to with my previous Acme b2. I tried to sell the Compact to fund an Acme but 1st no one bought my Compact and 2nd no one was selling an Acme. So I searched for an alternative route and the RS look really really nice so after I read some reviews I thought about buying one. I also spoke to Alex about the midget but I’m not sold on the design and because it is so mids focused it would be a tad too harsh for my liking. Alex offered to send me a Midget for me to try out before I made my decision but we both agreed that there was no real need for it as the midget is not what I was looking for. So the RS arrived and I could tell straight away that it will never be as loud as the Compact and at that point my idea was to sell my Compact and buy a second RS. But once I tried them together I was sold. They combine each other with the RS being more bright even harsh at times if you really open the tweeter. And being heavier than the Compact is a determent for me to buy a new one, and two Compacts would take too much space. Plus I don’t have the cash at the moment. So now I have 3 rigs RS+F1= Small venues when I most concerned with a hi-fi tone and need to use as little floor space as possible. Compact+F1= Medium size gigs Both +F1 for really loud gigs or when I can use them, as I’m enjoying the sound very much. I currently use them both together with my F1 flat exception made to VPF that I use at 10 o’clock and it really delivers that scooped mid sound. I notice that the RS will die first (volume wise) than the Compact but for that to happen you really need to be playing loud. I might consider buying another RS when I have a bit more cash, but that’s because I like the look of the two together so much and they take up less space at home, I might keep the Compact as well too. Not sure.
