1. Hi guys This may sound a bit odd. It does for me. Last Monday me and the band we learning new heavy rock songs, and I’ve noticed that I like to play them with the bass a lot lower than the usual. (by the knees some would say) Anyway so I thought about using the lower button hole in my strap when I’m playing rock stuff and I can “rock out” and move it up when I’m playing stuff that’s more technically challenging. Do you change the strap length during gigs or am I just being silly? Thanks David
 2. I just bought a Boss TU-3, my first pedal in years.
 3. Yeah I do use it. I think I'll just have to detune and get use to it. I'm worried that I might take too long, and we have a really good in March and I don't want to screw it up by leaving the others waiting.
 4. Oh I know what you mean like what Maring does, don't know if you ever heard of him? Nah i'm skint and I don't really want to go that route for one song. But thanks for reminding me of Manring, I'm off to Youtube
 5.
I used to cover this. I found fretting it on the B was a hell of a job seeing as it's fast and as you said, doesn't sound the same. I'd be worried about the neck tension tuning the B to D, hence why I just did BDADG for the one song save risking it.
We'll see how it goes on monday at rehearsals. I've learned both ways to be able to switch and play the way it sounds best.
 6.
I would detune the E or learn it from 3rd on the B, something like -------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- ------------------3------------------ ----1-2---4-5------4-5---3---1-2- --3-----3------3--------3---3------- When I played it on a 6 I detuned my E to D and B to A
Yeah I've been playing that way now, but it doesn't sound the same, I think i need to tidy up. Thanks guys
 7.
Personally I wouldn't try higher than a .115 tuning to D, considering I usually use .100 Can't you tune the E down to D?
Sure I can but I want to avoid stopping to do that just for one song
 8. What it says on the title. I have to learn a new song for the band that involves drop D, although I have the B string, fingering wise would be alot easier if I had the B string tuned to D. I don't really want to detune just for one song. The song is Slither btw Anyone plays it on a 5 string? Thanks
 9. I'm pretty sure it is a 6 string...
 10.
You should do a quick cost/benefit analysis of going to Camden then. It's worth the extra 3.25 kilojoules of effort mate, trust me
11. I've emailed the Bass gallery already to see when Martin is available to do the work. I'll have a tone pump to sell soon.
 12.
Let's face it, if you can be bothered to go to Denmark Street, you can be bothered to go to Camden.
Not quite I get my train in Charing Cross every evening therefore that's a lot quicker to get too, whereas to go to Camden I have to get somewhere with Northern line and then come all the way down to get my train home.
 13. Ok i'm convinced I'll email Alex now and check when I can drop the bass there.
 14.
whereabouts in west london are you working ? Might be worth asking Peter Cook guitars if they do set ups
in Putney. Who's Peter Cook?
 15.
I wouldn't trust anyone from Denmark Street with my bass. If your close to northern line just go to Camden and visit the gallery, I'm sure the guys would also be flexible with the time etc.
That's what I've been thinking as well. I have a mate that could do it, but if it goes wrong we'll have a problem. I think I'll have to go all the way up there. Do you know what time it closes? ps: I haven't measure the mark bass regarding the mono, I'll PM you eventually.
 16. Hi everyone I have received my new tone pump for my spector today, this one with the trim pot, and now I need someone to install it for me. I live in Kent but work in west london so it would be ok for me to visit a shop somewhere central. I talked to Bass gallery and they would do it but if I could avoid the treck to NorthLondon I would prefer, I go past embankment everyday and that's very close to Denmark st maybe I could find one there. Any thoughts? Thanks David
 17. Why the hate? Adam plays the same instrument as you and me, an instrument you love and try to get as many people to play it as you can. I don't understand all the hate and the negative vibe.
 18. You can remove the lacquer with a used washing dishes sponge. I use one from time to time and it removes the lacquer nicely, do not use a new one as it will scratch the neck.
 19.
You might want to edit your thread title to say Corvette, not Streamer.
1+ I thought it was too good to be true, a Streamer for £250.
 20.
Just out of interest the iGig G515 has a crazy amount of storage space, and can comfortably take a small head-like the MarkBass-in one of the front pockets, and still have space in the other pocket for cables and a laptop.
That's my worry about the Mono, not sure if the pockets are that big
 21.
Result Trust me you will not regret getting the Mono. Cheers Jack
For anyone interested delivery costs £12.99 grand total £112.96, delivery to London. I think I'm on my way to get one.
 22.
I have the Mono bag and can tell you that it is an excellent bag! The way I was looking at it is well protected and room for all the bits and pieces! Mono fits the bill perfectly, it's well made and has 3 years warranty. They are in the higher price bracket but if someone wants to save £30 odd on the bag for a bass that's worth over £1000 than they might as well buy a Stagg gig bag! Just my 2p worth Cheers Jack
I found the Mono for £99 at on piano covers online, just emailed them to check the delivery costs.
 23.
I'm in a similar boat having just sold a bass with one of my Ritter bags, so I need a replacement too. These are pricey aren't they? My top of the range Ritter was only £90, and that's really as much as I want to pay.
I paid something like £75 for my Ritter a top one at the time, but the padding has worn off and the zipper went in less than 6 months. I am happy to spend more if it means that it protects my bass and gear. After all it's like a 10% investment compared to the price of my gear.
 24. I need a new gig bag and a decent one that can carry all my cables and amp F1. I had a Ritter but the zipper went dead on me and now I can't use the side pocket. The main aim is to ditch the aluminium case I carry around and just carry the cab in one hand and the bass on the back. Anyone have used them before which one would you prefer? Do you know where I can get them cheaper? Only bass direct seem to stock them.
