some say that there is a miniture 8 legged cat inside that meows the octave back to you through a tiny mega phone.
well we know what the artwork should be now!

i love my reverb so can definitely give you some suggestions. a few questions? what kind of reverb are you after? light, medium, crazy deep ambient? got some clips you like the sound of? how much are you looking to spend? i use a verbzilla i got from here recently and am really digging it, i also rate the holy grail and the hardwire reverb.

it was just a wee jokey comment... had a look at the specs for you:
Compressor This pro LA-2A®-style compressor is ideal for every bass player and particularly useful for the ones who play with their fingers—achieve a smooth and consistent signal at any volume. Envelope filter Based on* a Q-Tron, this is the baddest envelope filter on the planet. This effect can be heard on tons of major funk and rock tunes. Octaver Based on* the EBS® OctaBass®, this effect produces a single note one octave below the note you’re playing to add a powerful new vibe to your sound. Chorus Based on* the much loved T.C. Electronic® Chorus. This is the most transparent, smooth and expressive chorus ever built for bass—and using it won’t reduce your low end. It’s especially beautiful with fretless basses. Synth Sitting at the back of the model knob is this secret weapon that turns LowDown into a ’70s classic bass synth. From funk to modern rock, this fully adjustable synth delivers incredible tones while tracking every dynamic move you make!
they're probably pretty good, i'm quite a fan of line6 effects. depends what kind offects you want tho?
These guys have come quite far to get Fender signature instruments....bet thats quite an epic feeling. As much as I like bass a lot more, im not as into the bass in Biffy as I am the awesome Strat sound.
i was about to write a post about how simon was a great guitarist and that although i love biffy i dont think james is that great a bassist and maybe there are other bassists more deserving of a signature model. then i stopped and thought 'what a horrible thing to say, you jealous swine'. he's worked hard, he's not amazing but he's certainly more interesting and original than a lot of rock bassists, he seems like a cool guy, and more importantly, the squier models are supposed to get kids interested in taking up the guitar and bass, and frankly all the guys from biffy are infinitely better role models than some of the mindless nonsense about at the moment. so right on! 'mon the biffy!

dont mean to pry really but you posted this at 7.00pm, then sold them to a local shop later than that? what, was it ultra-late opening? also, i've NEVER heard of a music shop buying goods from a customer at market value. for the pedals you listed i'd have expected you to get maybe £30-40 each. very strange.
We're not asking how it sounds. How does it work?
ahem. i'm asking how it sounds i dont care if there's a small pixie in there who listens to the note played then sings it back an octave higher - long as it sounds cool!
I'm presuming it takes the hot signal from the OD and puts it through some transistors and capacitors?
would this then give it a different sound than a regular octave pedal? cause although i'm interested, i don't think there's much need for a pedal that doesn't use power, most of us will have a daisy chain or power unit, and if you need power for 1 pedal on your board it's no hassle for them all to be powered.

awesome basses, but as has been discussed previously, brutal heavy. i've got the original hardcase for mine and carrying it to rehearsal is NOT fun!
-
here's mine in action. it's a wee bit worse for wear with plenty of dings and dents, still plays and sounds great tho!!!! as you'll see it's natural body with a rosewood fingerboard, a wee bit less common i'm told.

yeah, the japanese enjoy their weird stuff alright.
Problem is we just played at about 40bpm between 3 grindcore bands (one minute 160bpm songs).
i always feel that grindcore and doom bands complement each other perfectly at gigs - one band's set lasts 10 minutes, the other's an hour - evens things out!!!!

there's something i'm a bit unclear about all this which maybe someone could clear up, tho i think it was touched on in an earlier post: there have been a few suggestions that the seller shouldnt have sent the bass until the money was recieved. why? let's assume for a minute that both parties start off equal and innocent, each with goods of equal value (cash and a bass); somebody has to take the first step. one party has to make a decision to trust the other person and give them their goods without knowing they will recieve the other's. are there different laws governing buyer and seller? also, if this happened face to face would we consider the matter differently? scenario: buyer meets seller, each holding their goods. both agree to exchange. buyer hands seller money. seller takes money and runs off. surely this is theft, or at least fraud? i can't see how the above scenario is fundamentally different than from lemmy's dilemna, unless there is a difference legally between the buyer and the seller.

i notice that he's been on the forum today at 4.52. really poor show, the least he could do would be to pm lemmy if he's embarrassed and deal with it all in private.
This guy has a beard, and judging by his avatar, could pass for Chuck Norris. Good plan.
hehe, my girlfriend will be amused. joking aside, that's maybe an issue, i really dont mean to be threatening at all, quite the opposite in fact. still, if you want me to contact him just get in touch, i'm ashamed that someone from glasgow's giving us a worse name than we already have!!!!
-
i live pretty near there. i'd be more than happy to pop round and explain the situation to him. and i don't mean this in a threatening way at all, just maybe a face-to-face will shame him into relenting?
