1. My vintage Musicman copy will always have a special place in my heart If only it were a little less destroyed, I'd still be playing it.
2. 2.0 mm graphite picks, and 1.00 metal picks. I never use plastic ones anymore.

Bass tone

I just roll off the treble on my bass & amp. Neck pickup and plectrum do the rest.
4. Sounds like you may need to swap out the preamp or pickup. Broken-in nickel wounds would probably help, like alexclaber said. They do my L2000 a lot of favours in the tone department.
5. Nordstrand pickups really bring out the hollow, grindy P bass tone for me.
6. Guys, these are awesome! I need to get my MM/P project off the ground
7. I'd reccomend looking at Lakland and G&L, depending on your budget.
8. Beautiful axe, dude. I've been after a Tony Levin OLP for a while now.
9.
Before I get hate mail/private messages for this post; I know that using a plectrum on a bass is generally a taboo amoungst pro bassists
I've never understood this attitude. Not very proffesional to limit yourself. I almost always use a pick these days.
10.
That's what I do best.
Heh, Interesting point about the neck dive though. I was considering buying a squire telecaster, hadn't thought about the balance issue.
11. G&L L2000 tribby. Hottest. Pickups. Ever.
12.
eric avery - janes addiction
Hell yes Gotta give a shout out for Justin Chancellor from Tool.
13. Those are very cool Sweet bass, mate.
