1.
I've very recently sold my Roscoe Beck V to 73Jazz and though there were a few teething problems along the way (due to Banks & their sneaky way of playing around with exchange rates), the whole thing went through really smoothly in the end I'm happy to say! A couple of months back, when 73Jazz first posted in the basses For Sale forum, there were a few misunderstandings in the thread where things got a bit 'fiesty' and I remember thinking at the time that that it was probably caused by language/translation problems.. Certainly, it didn't seem like the best way to welcome a fellow bass player to the Forum IMO.. Anyway, I hope all those issues can be put to one side now because, having just had the pleasure of dealing with 73Jazz through this sale, I just want to say he's a great person to deal with; very honest, does everything in good time and keeps you totally in the picture, which is especially important when dealing with overseas sales I think. And he's someone he really knows his stuff, which is great as it keeps the conversations really interesting! So.. highly recommended and you can deal with him with absolute confidence! Thanks a lot Maurice...and I'm really glad you're happy with the bass!! Nik
Hi Nik, thanks a lot for your words and it was also a pleasure for me, dealing with you..not just because this RB5 is an amazing bass, but also you are a very interesting and kind person. and remember.."a tiger cannot lose his stripes" all the best for you Nik
 2. I bought a wounderful RB5 from Nik. In my time of contact with him, i had the possibility to get an idea of how nice this guy must be. Nik is very polite and kind, did a great job with the shipping of the bass and even through some stormy winds, he is the kind of person you would like to deal with Thanks again for all Nik!

 4.
Hi 73, I can't do a back to back with all the gear, as I have a diferent power amp and cabs but I can hear more detail and more umph in the SVT IIP. Your experience may differ.
i use a powersoft digimod 1500 and it has a unknown amount of detail for my ears..in such a high amount, that i sold my sennheiser wireless immediately, because the difference to a cable was inacceptable.. so now i am more looking forward for my svt2p..most the people i know like it more than the svp pro..
 5.
I had the SVP and sold it in favour of the SVT IIP which I still have and is in my rack, in favour of my Aguilar DB680, which is no slouch but I prefer it with my Stingray. They sound so different, I love my SVT IIP. Look for valves that are happy being saturated, loads of thick lower mids and some sweet highs, the lows are already there due to the design.
in my svp i use jj803s on v1 , groove tubes on v2,v3 a jj12au7 in v4 and a mesa spax on v5..that really rocks. steve..what is the difference in sound in your oppinion?
 6.
I haven't tried the SVTII Pro but I can heartily recommend the SVP. I loved it from day one, and prefer the tone/verstility to the SVT4 Pro head that I had before.
i love it too..i bought also the svt2p and will be able to compare both in a week..which tubes do you use?they really affect the sound of the svp
 7. is there anyone with experience in both preamps?what are the differences in sound? which one do you prefer?what are the pro`s and cons? thanks in advance

 11.
babelfish.yahoo.com says "you are genuinly ne totally poor sausage young. .unhöflich and stupidly. .wenn I that to make would have wanted public, ichd as would have done you fully honk " thats you told then
yes it means you are an inpolite idiot whith no manners, if want to discuss my price public, i would have done it without you making any private message public BTW This is my second negative experience with basschat.co.uk I do not understand why people are so inpolite and intrigant like you are, maybe because i do not live in the uk, maybe not, maybe it is my person..i do not know, but i will take the consequence out of this and say goodbye to those who were not that bad here..
 12. Guys..do me a favour and read carefully what i have written. i sum it up..i said JV are sold around 900 GBP. I said i will not sell the bass under 880 Euros, which will be 760 GBP. So dont be too excited to catch something which is not existing..i didn`t wrote in any of my posts that i want 900 GBP for the bass..right? but it doesnt matter anymore..i will not sell the bass to people like you. You definitely have no behaviour and even if a moderator tells you to not discuss any price public..you do not stop..this is not polite and shows your style..which i do not like farewell guys
 13.
First of all, it's a lovely bass, no question. Being realistic, on UK Ebay I would expect a later and more common JV Squier (with the large Squier logo, like this one) to sell for between £500 & £600, competitive Ebay madness might push it up to 7 but that would be quite unusual. Realistically it is the seller's prerogative to ask whatever he wishes so this is in no way a criticism, just an observation. I recently sold my SQ Precision to a German BC member, he was happy to pay my asking price because of the exchange rate favouring the Euro, to be honest I was expecting to have to sell it for somewhat less. I think 73Jazz needs to appreciate that this works both ways - and I strongly doubt that a UK buyer will be willing to pay £900 for his JV. Jon.
Okay, if so..thanks i have felt enough with my feeler. but i know it is not.bye and thanks for your great knowledge, you let me take part of i have forgotten to quote my friend donhills: Sorry - no offense intended

 15.
JV's are becoming very, very collectable. I borrowed one when I moved to Norway, and was subsequently given it by the very kind owner. After reading up on them a bit it appears that Fender shipped loads of bits out to Japan for assembly when the Squier range started, so the JV series were essentially Fenders put together by people who could put them together properly. I think the people buying them are asking themselves how much they'd pay for an '82 Fender without the worry about their dubious quality controll. Last year I nearly sold mine to OldGit. We didn't get as far as talking money as it's a hell of a lot better bass than my other (CY) Squier and I decided to keep it as the backup bass, but then the market was about £450. I saw one go for £650 in December and one went for Kr 8000,- recently over here (about £800), so £900 appears to be pretty consistent with the trend. Good luck with the sale mate, I don't think you'll have much trouble getting 900 notes for it at all.
Thanks SteveO, you seem to be the only one who knows about those basses..the other ones please collect agathis squiers crafted in corea
 16. however..i just see JV around 1000 Euro from 880 euros to 1200 i think this is what nowadays is a realistic price..i will not sell for less if you ever have the possibily to find one below that..take this chance..you will not find one again and these isntruments are elite this posts are googled in 1 minute..just to show that 900 isn`t unrealistic please if you find something show me below that price 880 Euro it is not my intention to justify anything..if the price is too much..just leave my bass and take another one, which is cheaper
 17. ahh..here is a 82 JV: http://cgi.ebay.de/1982-SQUIER-by-FENDER-J...alenotsupported if you get JV`s for 350..pls let me know..i will buy all of them

 19. It is definitely more than this 350 bucks you offered
 20. DC24 Dynamic Controller The DC24 is a 1U rackmounting two channel compressor, limiter and expander gate ideal for on-air and production studios. Inputs and outputs are on XLR and 6.35mm jack connectors, switchable –10/+4dBu. The DC24 features a built-in crossover for split band processing of a single channel. Separate controls are provided for compression ratio and threshold, expander/gate ratio and threshold, limiter threshold, output level, crossover frequency and mode and individual channel bypass switches. You just split up the signal on which frequency you like and handle "both" signals seperated with Gate, Limiter and Compressor. So you just may compress the low end and let the highs untreated, or give the highs a compression of e.g 6:1 but the bass only 2:1, however you like to, the rane dc24 gives you the freedom to do what you want. i have never heard such a natural und vital bass sound! Review on ovnilab: http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/dc24.shtml Datasheet: http://www.rane.com/pdf/old/dc24dat.pdf The price of the rane dc 24 is cheapest 580 GBP, my unit is in mint condition and i am looking for 350 GBP
 21. Hard times, so i am thinking about selling this beautiful bass out of my collection. This is a Japanese JV (Japan Vintage) Squier modell from the end of 1982. The remarkable quality in sound and handcraftship should be known and clear, not only from collectors of the JV basses. My bass is the evidence of what those japanese guys had shown fender in the early 80`s: "Everybody came up to inspect them and the guys almost cried, because the Japanese product was so good - it was what we were having a hell of a time trying to do." Dan Smith, Director of Marketing, Electric Guitars, Fender USA. i own 5 fender basses, the oldest one is from 1973. i know about fender basses very well and in my oppinion JV basses are among the best "fender" basses you can get out there! This one has a beautiful one piece maple neck, straight like an arrow, you can really get a low action on this baby. the sound is like a precision should sound and you know from many music you have listened to. This modell is a 57 style precision, which was built 1:1 from the blueprints of USA. - It is a 2 tone sunburst with - white pickguard - vintage style bridge - vintage reverse tuners - high quality SQP-2 Japanese pickups fitted as standard, with the two raised 'A string polepieces There is one spot of bother, the guy i bought this bass from in 1986, did some little holes just above the bridge. it is just an optical thing.i didn`t mind it, because the bass sounds fantastic, but if you do, a bridge cover will help to hide it. If you need further information, pls contact me or have a look on 21frets.com, a JV Instruments fan page I am open for your offers.. but enough said, let the pictures speak:
 22.
Looks like a good value-for-money piece. But putting out 700w into 8ohms. Jeepers. I have loadsa cabs, but all old school = 200-300-400w. Pity, as it would take up the space left by the Mesa BB750. What were you driving it into?
Hi Jeepers, I played with this amp on big stages, small clubs and after getting the ampeg, i played it only at home into 2x10 hartke transporter which have, i think 200W. due to i am not killed by my neighbours yet;), it is no problem to play the amp into small cabs or not at 120 decible.. i think it is a nice combination with old school cabs, this amp makes a really nice true sounding and honest bass sound, which will let you here every millimeter of your strings, fingers and wood. when i was looking for an amp i was thinking of a glockenklang or this carvin b1500, after hours of checking and comparing both, i decided for this amp. you will not get more value for money than with this one..of they have a better advertising and a more popular name in europe, they could sell this amp for more than twice the price. if you like to i could send you a small soundfile, recorded with a zoom h2 at home, jazzbass into carvin into hartke cabs
 23. This Amp is not well known, which everyone who has played it could definitely not understand. Plug in your bass, set the eq flat and you will have one of the best tones you ever had! You need headroom? You will never have e need for headroom with this beast. But also with living room settings this amp provides you with a true and honest sound, which is often compared to glockenklang. This amp is in a mint condition, i sell it because i have 2 amps this one and an ampeg. Due to leaving my band and less money i have to sell 1 of them. Please be so kind to read reviews at harmony central: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...B1500+Head/10/1, this amp is defintely one of the best amps i ever played..and i tried them all.. also this one: http://www.bassplayer.com/article/carvin-b...ead/may-05/8578 Please make me a fair offer and we will find a price
