1. *update* I decided I was bored of the bass as it was so here's how it's changed over the last 3 weeks... Pearloid pickguard, pick up cover (body shot) - Pearloid pickguard, pickup cover (full guitar shot) - Pearloid pickguard with both ashtray covers - Pearloid pickguard with both ashtray covers (again but as an arty shot haha) - No pickguard with both ashtray covers (you can kind of see the copper shielding I did on the control and pick up cavity too) - I was tempted to leave it without a pickguard on it as it looked really cool but being me, I had to spend money on stuff I didn't need and couldn't afford (even if it was only £4 inc postage from Hong Kong)... Presenting the new blue pearloid pickguard with both ashtrays fitted! (A thumb rest has also been fitted but I haven't pictured it yet). 2 layers of protective film were still on the pickguard at this point and the lighting in my kitchen is sh*t so this picture really doesn't do the blue pickguard any justice. I'll get a better photo when I take one of the fitted thumb rest. Blue pearl pickguard with both ashtray covers - Next up for Jazzy Jeff is a set of Fender reverse vintage style tuners and a Hipshot D-Tuner (BT-3 I think it is?) as well as a set of Seymour Duncan AJJ-1 pickups (but they'll be the very last thing I do to it) Screamz N' Dreamz! 2. Steve Harris's current Fender Signature Series P Bass is my favourite signature bass out there. I saw it, wanted it, bought it and love it. It only comes out for special occasions too but more recently, i've actually started using it for band practise (no one gets to go near it though for obvious reasons) Other sig models I do like and would love to get are the Fender Duff McKagan and Fender Geddy Lee. As you can tell, I'm a huge Fender fan and now only use my Fender basses (and the Squier VM Jazz '77 I've got) Oh, I do like the white/maple Tony Franklin Fretted P/J bass too... But that's all In terms of signature models I'd like to see made, I'd love to see a Lakland Geezer Butler signature made based on his black on black with rosewood boarded P/J bass (including the Black Sabbath logo on the pickguard, pictured below) as well as Yamaha doing a signature model of the bass James Lomenzo uses (as far as i'm aware, that's not a signature model, it's just a custom one off bass he had made for himself)

4. She looks amazing! I miss this bass so much. Definitely going to buy another Mockingbird at some point or see how much a custom one would be. Well done on the repair job too dude.
5. Hey guys I'm putting a feeler thread out for my virtually brand new Epiphone Thunderbird. I bought it in July brand new from one of the guitar shops down Denmark Street in London but after playing it a few times, I've realised that it isn't really for me. I'm more of a precision bass man (boring I know but I feel "at home" on a P-Bass) so i've decided it's best to sell it to some one who'll appreciate it more than me. So yeah, about the T-Bird. Apparently it's one of only 3 of this exact model in the UK because it's the one with the guitar sized humbuckers instead of the soapbars. All the main hardware is chrome, the pickguard is matching white and the fretboard is a beautiful rosewood. As soon as I bought it, I took it in to my local guitar shop and asked them to fit the strap peg to the front of the neck pocket (this hasn't left an open hole on the bass as the strap peg was fit to one of the 4 neck bolts on the neck plate so they just took that bolt out, took the strap peg off and put the bolt back in. Also, just to clarify, it isn't attached to the neck, it's attached to the body). I have also fitted a set of chrome pick up rings (not plastic, proper metal ones) instead of the black plastic ones but I will send the black ones with it for you to choose between. I paid just under £300 for it and it comes with 1 year of free set ups from the shop I got it from (I have the paper work to prove this). I'm not going to say the bass is mint because end of the day, it has been used but hasn't ever left the house. I have used it on 2 or 3 recordings at home and it has that distinct vintage rock and roll sound. Really bassy, lots of mids and not so many highs. The moved strap button has completely stopped neck dive and has actually made the bass more comfortable to play. I would be looking for around £200 cash (plus postage) to cover a different bass I want or to pay for the paintwork on my 87 p bass to be finished. Picture of the bass: (stickers on the pickups have been removed)
6. If I was to wire a 12v grain of wheat bulb (any colour) to the positive and negative connections of the VU meter, would it affect how the VU reads or would it work as it did still? And SidVicious1978, I've messaged you mate
7. Sorry to hijack your thread dude, how would I replace the bulb in my VU meter on my Ashdown pedal? I phoned Guy about a replacement pot and he said he would email me when he had one spare but that was over a month ago so I'm giving up hope on that. What bulb would I need to replace the one on the VU with?
8.
Korg DTR. Either the 1000 or 2000. No question. I tried the Behringher one once and that was enough. Wouldn't really track the drop D very well. I must admit, when I put together my almost stupidly complicated rack setup it's basically because I hate seperate floor pedals. I'm sure loads of folk would disagree, but I find rack stuff more flexible as you can just midi chain them all and when you press a floor controller, the whole rig changes. At least, that's what mine does. Some folk have rightly stated that you can just boot the floor tuner in your pocket. Fine, Each to their own, but the thought of the battery dying would fill me with dread if it was a screw job to replace it. You just know it'd happen mid gig too.....
Plus one on EVERYTHING you said here including the bit about Drop D tuning. I use the Korg DTR2000 and it's the best tuner EVER. Probably the reason so many famous musicians use them. I picked mine up for £80 second hand (not a single scratch on it) but fully boxed. I would never consider selling it and I'm going to buy another one for my back up rig too
9. I really am confused as to why I can't find a 5 string jazz bass bridge cover. There's 4 string bridge and pick up covers but only 5 string pick up covers (mainly from the M Miller bass) and I really don't understand why. A lot of bassists play 5 string basses and I would of thought quite a few people have bought 5 string jazzes so why have Fender not made a 5 string bridge cover for a jazz like the 4 string one? It's annoying me because I want to get one to go on a 5 jazz when I get one. If anyone knows where to get one, please let me know. Cheers
10. you've made 3 mistakes with this 1: I would of put a Badass II on it instead of the bridge you've chosen 2: I would of had the jack input mounted on the pickguard 3: I wouldn't of had a tone control so it would of just been 2 volumes and the jack input on the plate Apart from that, I want it haha *edit* make that 4, NO RELICING! Leave it as it is. It's so gorgeous like it is.
11. Well there goes the chances of me ordering a Musicman bass. I was seriously considering ordering one once I start a new job. I even had a sheet all typed up with the specs I want etc etc but not now, I've heard to many bad things over the last year or so about Ernie Ball's factory. I'd be seriously worried that when I got it, it wouldn't be what I wanted after this. Back to wanting an old Rickenbacker it is then...
12. Oh in that case, no there is no non movement turns. The guy who messaged me still hasn't paid or even emailed me back so if you still want them, message me me ASAP and I'll get payment details over to you mate Stevie
13. Found out I had the bass too high on my actual amp when my mate brought his 6 string round today. Thumped the low B and it made my amp go straight in to the red and made my speakers distort very badly. Took off about 2/10ths of bass and it seemed to handle it fine. I think it's time I re-worked my tone anyway. Oh well. End thread really!
14. I've gotta say, they're perfectly smooth. They don't get stuck when winding them and they hold tuning perfectly. When I had them on the bass I didn't play it for a couple of days to let the neck settle and they hadn't slipped out of tune or anything like that
15. Hi mate, just thought I would let you know this isn't the '77 model, the '77 is black with a black pickguard and a white/pearl bound and blocked maple board. The one you have here is just the Vintage Modified Jazz
16. Sold my Seymour Duncan SPB-1's to Mark and he's a "propa decent fella!" No in all seriousness, he messaged me about them and paid straight away. I've just taken them to the post office and they're on their way to him. Hope you enjoy them Mark!

18. Hey guys I've got a set of 4 in line Fender style machine heads for sale. These ones are changeable so they can be used on a right handed bass, left handed bass or a musicman style 3x1 bass (again, left or right handed) but even better, they could even be uses in a 2x2 style. I paid £25 for them so I'm looking for £15 atleast plus the postage, so how does that sound? £15 plus a couple of quid postage and I'll set them out however you want them? They're currently in a 4 in line formation as I had them mounted on a Jazz Bass neck which I briefly used to string up my bass and intonate it then I took it back off again. They have the usual Fender style "clover" winding peg, I will include all the bushings and screws, it's the typical fender sized string pole too. As well as the tuning pegs, I'll include a P Bass string tree (which i paid a fiver for) for free. Message me and buy them. Need money for a new bass pre amp! Dimension diagram which shows the exact dimensions and shape of the tuning pegs http://www.axesrus.c...rCloverSpec.jpg Remember, £15 plus postage, not a penny less!
19. Well my 2x15 certainly does kick out some lows. I'm going to start doing what Billy Sheehan does though and use my 4x12 for the lows and the 2x15 for the highs. I've also sorted out a 5 string set for when I need them
