1. Thanks very much, really appreciate your comment
2. Love this tune so thought I'd add some bass to it, not that it needs it!
3. Recent cover of James Morrison's You Give Me Something, just decided i'd do a video of 'bass playing' instead of my usual fret w@nking! I've found its probably best through headphones or decent speakers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OprvKEUBnYI
4.
Out of interest, would that be doing originals or covers?
Half half really I'm giggin roughly twice a week with different bands and artists
5.
It's alright round our way (The Wirral & North West) we'll have done 60 by the end of the year. Move North!
Likewise I've never been busier in the North West!
6. Around 4 years old, I think these are discontinued now and were apparently worth well over £100 back then if i remember rightly, possibly more. 7.
Monster, Phil. Now re-shoot it so we can see your right hand Nice to see BL avoidiing the routine blues phrases and pseudo be bop in favour of some interesting intervals.
Yeah I've realised the camera isn't too great, apologies!! I'm basically using alternating thumb and middle finger with abit of index thrown in. Yeah this album 'My Favourite Django' is highly recommended! Possibly a little 'smooth' on some tracks.
8. Thanks very much, appreciate the comment

10. Just a link to some of my videos on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/user/sharp5sharp9bass/videos
11. Great price for an awesome cab, somebody buy!
12.
Im kinda the same... I settled on Ric many years ago, just find them the best for me in regards to sound, neck profile and weight. I have a USA P as my backup bass and they are fine fine instruments indeed, this one being a 2009 one so with the better (IMO of course ) bridge that doesnt cut your hand open.
Yeah the bridge is tremendous mines the same, massive improvement imo.
13. Sounds great Andy, i've subscribed!
14.
P basses just seem natural to me, they are comfortable neck, body and pickup position to play, they sound great without effort and nothing looks better than a simple p bass IMO
Agreed, it just works, you plug it in and you sound great. I use mine in just about every genre. Never need anything else (except a 5 for gospel music).
15.
Find one bass that works fairly well and stick with it. Learn it's idiosyncrasies, work round it limitations and focus on the music. Although of course you'll need a backup bass. And a decent five string. And maybe you'll treat yourself to something a bit special when you hit 30, 40, 50 or 60 years old. But apart from that, you're on the right track.
Absolutely, Fully agree!! Just a shame it's cost me about 20K in the process!!! WHY!!!!
16. Ok like most people I've suffered my fair share of GAS (mainly through immaturity) over the last 15 years I've been playing. I've owned custom this and that, just about every major brand out there, tried every combination of woods electronics pickups bla bla bla. And what do I settle on? A cracking USA Fender precision. I've never ever been settled on a bass as long as this one. Original and best now IMHO! Anyone else with similar experience?
17. Im months behind on this thread but this is a great book and highly recommended! Another video from Hal below!
18. My live bass solo from Saturday night, not exactly that great and tempo's all over the place but thought i'd share it anyway!
19. http://www.facebook.com/sharp5sharp9bass This is my personal page which ive just opened which helps in me getting 'dep' gigs if anyone can 'like'! Thanks very much
20. Hi Sam, Yes this is still available. Thanks
21. Hi Ian, To be honest I would say that it certainly has less effect on the E and A string, its more a case of you seem to need to hold it over the string abit longer to get it moving thats what i've found anyway! Hope that helps. Phil
22. For sale my Ebow plus which I bought for when I played fretless, but I don't anymore.... say no more! In mint condition with box and all other bits as indicated in the photo. I'll post it to you for £55! Details from their website - The EBow is a hand-held electronic bow for guitar. This small battery-powered unit replaces the pick in the right hand letting the guitarist mimic strings, horns, and woodwinds with unbelievable sensitivity. The EBow produces a powerful infinite sustain, rich in harmonics for incredible guitar sounds. Unlike plug-in effects, the Energy Bow does its work on the string itself... Direct String Synthesis™. Infinite Sustain is just the beginning. Thanks for reading!
