1.
Sounds very nice Phil - Baron is one badass player - good you played it on fretless too as that's his usual choice live, I've seen him play crazy sh*t on a fretless 4-string Jazz, making it sound amazing, slapping even, such a groovy player - very underrated Cheers Mike
Absolutely awesome isn't he mate. I got to meet him in New York afew years ago after watching them gig the above, top guy aswell!
2.
Great stuff Phil - Nice and solid, and consistent Intonation as well. Well played. Garry
Thanks very much Garry, much appreciated
3. I didn't bother with the solo as I kind of feel they are personal and I didn't want to solo over Baron Brownes awesome one!! Check out the album its great - Vital Information - Come On In.
4.
You might enjoy a piezo in the bridge. I tried this cheapo http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4cfeca27b5 it blends very happily with a P pickup for a nice woody sound
Good call thanks, I might try that someday.
5.
Indeed, I admire your balls Phil (metaphorically speaking) for de-fretting a US 'P' , the purists will be up in arms, and some will be crying at this very moment. Wait for them to come out of the woodwork and start telling you what you have done is abhorant, against all right things, and against the will of God ! or words to that effect. I say good on you, nice playing by the way..... Paul (I,ve defretted some basses in my time) Rose
Haha love it and very true I know It'll come!! I considered buying a mexican P bass to do it too but I thought bolllox to it lets get it done. All for £50 at my local tech! Bargain! Who needs a back pickup eh!
6. Well following the thread I started wanting the opinions of exclusively fretless players, i decided to de-fret my USA precision (also its not very precise now ), and I can honestly say it the best thing I've ever done. Video and Picture below!
7. Thanks very much, its come out an absolute treat and all for a mere £50 with the local tech guy!
8. Just got my precision back from being de-fretted and love it! Put this video together covering Raul Midon's Expressions of Love. Hard to play without a drummer

13. Thanks for all the replies everyone, much appreciated to get the opinions of you all. I think a defret is in order!
14. There's probably already a thread with this, but i'm just curious to find out if there's anyone on here who plays only fretless and how they get on, i.e do you ever find yourself in a situation where you wish you had a fretted? Thanks
15. Thanks very much Stuart, means a lot coming from yourself!
16. A bit of a mess around on Herbie's tune, certainly not perfect and plenty of flaws but just thought i'd record it while i was in the mood!

18. A video of Marcus' tune '3 Deuces' with some friends of mine. Rough round the edges but we gave it a go!
19.
I really like it, sterling job. Nice and clean, the only slight alteration would be although very fussy is the order of the top menu, I'm not sure how important equipment is in relation to everything else I would be tempted to put it second to last before contact. Good luck with it.
Great point, thanks, i think i'll do that
20. Thanks for all the comments everyone, really helps me to develop it and all.
21.
No apostrophe in 'videos'
Thanks!! Appreciated!
