5. Just sold my Rickenbacker 4003 to Peter and was a very easy transaction. Great guy and would recommend.
6. Im selling my basically BRAND new (1 month old) ashdown head and cab. The EVO ii head has been discontinued now but as i understand it the EVO iii is the same with the added compression ( i may be wrong). The cabinet is a 4 X 10 ABM410T. Both are obviously mint being only 1 month old and never gigged. My reason for selling is I am getting engaged and this has to be the first thing to go! Looking for £550 altogether for the both of them and not interested in selling separately to be honest. Thanks for reading. ASHDOWN ABM 500 EVO II HEAD The ABM 500 EVO II is a 575 watts RMS bass amp head designed to satisfy both bass-purists and tech-heads alike. Three straightforward rotary tone controls provide 20dB of cut and boost at 60Hz, 660Hz and 5kHz, and are supplemented by two pairs of additional sliders giving 15dB cut and boost at 180Hz, 340Hz, 1.3kHz and 2.6kHz. The EQ can be switched in/out, and flat/shaped by footswitch, enabling players to go from a flat fretless sound to a boosted sound via a favourite EQ setting. A single input is switchable for passive and active instruments with a blend of solid state and dual triode tube preamps stages which can be preset and selected by footswitch, providing access to a massive range of clean, warm and overdriven tones. Also footswitchable is the mighty Ashdown sub-harmonic generator which precisely tracks the main signal and reproduces it an octave lower. A sub-harmonic level control enables the player to add just the right amount of low-end reinforcement - everything from a subtle, thickening of the sound to unbridled, bone crushing tone. The ABM 500 EVO II features a front-panel mounted balanced DI out with pre or post EQ switching, a sub-bass output, a tuner output, an FX loop and a line input for the connection of an external sampler or sound source. Output muting cuts the signal from the DI output but leaves the tuner output 'live', allowing the player to tune up in silence. A new upgraded power section has faster transient attack, more headroom and even less noise. The cabinet is constructed from high-grade birch ply with properly screwed and glued joints, protected by a tough, buffalo leather cloth covering and chromed metal corners. Special Ashdown-designed metal handles are used in favour of inferior flip handles which can rattle after years of use. Ashdown speakers are specially developed to achieve a superb balance of power, transparency and deep, controlled low end, without sacrificing any of the mid-band attack and high-end brightness that are so important in a modern bass sound. 8.
It will do you good. When you get back your enthusiasm will have grown and you will return to practice with renewed vigour. A day off every now and then is good for the soul and helps you keep things in perspective.
Totally agree with that! Also very wierd but every time I go on holiday i seem to have improved by the time i get back after not picking up the instrument for a week! Whats all that about!! Probably because i spend most of the time listening to music instead of trying to play it.

17. Decided to sell my gorgeous handmade custom bass crafted in Germany - see Marleaux website for details http://www.marleaux-bass.de/marleaux_home_eng.html. Im not entrirely sure what the body woods are but the body seems to be mahogany and the top some kind of spalted (excuse my ignorance i should email Marleaux and ask!). The neck is maple and the fingerboard is ebony. The hardware is vintage gold which is nice as ive found the 'normal' gold hardware tends to tarnish after some time, but not the case here. 34" scale length, bolt on neck, active 3 band eq, active/passive switch and pickup pan. Comes with hardcase. A lovely bass to play and I will try and answer any questions as best i can or supply more photos. This bass cost £2100 from a local music shop only 5 months ago and is as mint as the day i bought it. My reason for selling is i really really need to upgrade my rig so ive put a deposit down and need to come up with the rest of the cash! I already own a nice 5 string M-bass which i play most of the time anyway. Asking price is £1350. Thanks for reading!
18. Hi everyone, I'm an experienced bass player and currently offering lessons based in Morecambe/Lancaster in Lancashire. I have over 13 years experience in playing and gigging throughout the country. I feel my lessons may be slightly different than some people might be used to or previously experienced - I have found the best way to teach is to get students 'playing' straight away, learning nice lines and phrases to be able to incorporate into their own playing. That way the student naturally wants to know 'why' these lines work, so we can then study the theory behind it. In the same way as children we learn to say words first before we learn the alphabet! I also like to encourage learning as many songs/tunes as possible within the course of the lessons. I also like to teach abit from the piano which i find helps speed up understanding. All levels of students are more than welcome from beginner to advanced, aswell as all styles. First lesson is always free as i like to get an understanding of your goals, interests and where your current playing level is. All lessons are at my house in Morecambe Lancashire and currently only weeknights and saturday mornings are available. Feel free to get in touch even if its just a question! - 07545 309345 and [email protected] Prices - Just £8 for half an hour and £15 for an hour. Many Thanks Phil
19.
Welcome back to music.
Thanks!! Wasted far too much time! lol
20. In the last couple of years ive found myself gradually 'going off' bass orientated albums. From about the ages of 15 to 22 i probably listened to nothing else (almost) than Victor, Stanley, Marcus, Jaco, Alain Caron, Adam Nitti etc etc etc and anything made by a bass player be it video, dvd, cd. And now although i will occasionally listen back to them, im kind of finding none of that stuff or the 'new' guys, floats my musical boat anymore! I mean i love to solo and explore that side of things, but its just not doing it for me listening to it anymore! Do I sound like a hyprocrite?? Anyone else gone through this???
21. Just got this today. Plays incredible and sounds like every other Marleaux! Gorgeous. Thats me done now with an M-Bass and Consat. Im happy! (well for now!)
22. Thanks very much everyone much appreciated. Added another one but i think i was abit too adventurous.
