1. A D.I. box is just to boost the signal so you get a strong reading on the desk innit? I have an active Radial DI box on my board. They are powered with phantom power from the desk. I only have one so i know the sound guys have good quality signal at every gig.

Landmine LD1

Seen this on ebay, but looks like a right scam to me! What do you all reckon? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Landmine-Distortion-Pedal-LD-1-/130783145364?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item1e73486d94 Also, if any of you know where to get one or has one for sale, please let me know!
3. I NEED this. Damn skint ness :-/ Jim Glennie (James) uses one of these and i have NEVER heard him sound bad.
4. Cheer's Liam! Muchly appreciated! ( From my new valves for my amp thread) Maybe i should have stuck with Orange stock preamp valves rather than ordering some Groove Tubes :-/
5. Took it to HW Audio to have the KT88's changed so they sorted all that. Dunno if they tested the pre amp valves. Didn't think that was needed really. long as my new ones sound better i'm happy! if not. Back to HW it goes! Also, In an AD200b MK3, I have read the first 2 are preamp stage (ECC83 x2), the 3rd is the phase inverter (ECC81). (If you look at the valves with preamp facing you then output valves behind them...)
6.
Phil has done work on my basses and is the only person I would trust with my 64 Jazz. He also does set ups for a guitarist friend of mine who is very particular, and he rates him as the best. Cameron
He possibly is round this neck of the woods for big repairs. But just for a set up, his charges are a little high. Though it's been a while since i used him.
7. Phil is really good mate! Though he's not cheap! Look for A6 guitar repairs! He has just done a top job on our singers guitars. He's at 4 lane ends )over hulton) just off the A6! Cheaper too. *EDIT* Andy Tatlock he's called
8. Advice from an established tech with some pretty big names in the UK, i have just gone for some Groove Tubes. Will see how i get on!
9. Maybe we can come up with some sort of arrangement? I have an Orange AD200B MK3 (Just had all the Output Valves replaced with some Marshall KT88's, just choosing some preamp valves at the moment!) OBC 4x12 And OBC 1x15. But i reeeeeally want a Marshall VBA400 and a couple of 4x12's.
10. Yo folks! had my orange out put valves changed at the local music shop as I know nothing about this. They have stuck some Marshall valves in. Was happy when I got it back. But since Febuary, I have used it about 10 times, after about a month 1 needed replacing again, had that sorted, soon as got it back to the rehearsal room, the amp was so quiet and distorted. Took it straight back. Since July/aug I got it back but it's just not got the tone anymore. Works fine now, not blowing valves for fun. So I'm HOPING that it's time to change the pre amp valves. Not been changed for 5 years or so, and I use the amp rehearsing twice a week as well as gigs most weeks. Should they last longer than that preamp valves? If changing them will sort it out I'm stuck on what to buy. Been looking at Watford valves harma cryo ECC83's And the mullard cryo ECC81 they do. or what about the Russian Groove Tubes ECC83 and ECC81? Or will JJ's do the trick? Don't wanna go to the orange shop because I have been told these are Chinese made and to avoid those by a few people. I play a Gibson Les Paul Bass what does lack on the sub end some what. I don't need the amp to really distort as I have loved pedals for this. But I do want some serious punch. Can Any of you good people help me out? Cheers
11. Hahaha Yeah, you'd have to.... it just wouldn't clean off!
12. I used have one of these! Ace for recordin n gettin some mad sounds... for live or prac? I would stay well away!
13. I aint, but i love my AD200B, I love the clean tone I'm getting at the moment and i have wet dreams about the distortion i can get from it... Just impossible to go from clean to distortion unless i pay someone to mess with the master and gain knobs when i give the nod... I'm using a T-Rex Moller at the moment, it pretty much sounds like my Orange cranked up. Only problem is (though it has a mix knob) i can't get the amount of distortion i want and keep all my bass signal. I have just got T-Rex to send me the BassJuice that i get to try tomorrow :-) Hopefully that will do the trick... Until i can afford my second Orange of course! And one of radial's ToneBones to join the heads to the cabs! Gotter set big targets or i'd still be goin through my little squire practice guitar amp!
14. I'm saving up for a second Orange AD200B, TBONE it might be called?! i can't remember... I posted about on a thread i made "Active Passive input on AD200B" Find that... you'll find what i was on about... 3 different ones... VV - 2 valve heads, VS valve and solid stage head, SS 2 solid state heads. Cost a bit though!
15. Just landed one of the biggest gig's with my band Our Fold. We are playing The Great Escape Festival in Brighton on the saturday 16th may at The Dome. Supporting Kasabian! If anyone else is about on Saturday, pop down! Gonna be a Great doo! Cheers Dan.
16. James bassist jim glennie uses a Musicman Sterling, His sound makes we want to do things to myself. I'd say Musicman are good...
17. Hello all! Right, I wanna swap my black fender jag bass (Signed by Andy Rourke on the back of the head) for a white one with a tort shell plate... Anyone up for this?
18. Sorry...i just wanted to show the sivertone off....
19. Is that 'yellow thing' not a power box or whatever you wanna call em?! For plugging American amp's into a British socket? I have one fore my Sears Silvertone.... Sorry it's not the best of pic... 2 channel with Volume, Bass, Treble on each. Is in fact the BEST tone i have ever had, 100w all valve head, But it only goes into 8 ohm. Well, so i was told, wouldn't like to try it!!! So i use it as a guitar amp where it sounds the dogs back legs! (going into a Marshall 1x12 in this pic)
20. Only got this 1 pic at the moment! I like the red amp jewel, looks soft on here. But it does scare people away from touching it, looks dangerous! Anyway... My Orange AD200B, OBC 4x10, OBC 1x15
21. A vintage 62 P, to go with that jazz But i can't find one in white, doin me ed in. Even if i did find one, will have to rob a bank to get it! Or tell the label it's needed and the band will split if they don't get it us... haha I like to dream...
22. Ha Ha, Cheers Musicman! Was a gift that bass! but i love it. I want a P-bass the same, I have a Jag as well i might get re finished to look the same (how much does that cost?) Like that them together, White and Tort shell plate. By the sound of your name, If you have a Sterling i might be willing to swap the Jazz?! haha
23. Radial do the tonebender or sommet like that... 3 different ones. VV - 2 Valve heads (speaker out) in to this box then to you Cab(s) VS - A Valve head and a Solid State head... same thing SS - 2 Solid State heads... same thing... These ones cost a bit, Guitarist out of my band knows more about this, he has done it in the past (very experienced guitarist) I'm sure you can get cheaper ones! Anyway, They are just like an AB pedal... but rather go to 2 different stacks... 2 heads into 1 cab. Best idea ever? Not to far off!
24. haha, Yeah, but it's a ballache making my amp clean and distorted halfway through songs! haha when and IF, i can ever afford it... i will just get a second AD200B and run em both into my cabs (get one of them splitter boxes you can plug heads into) clean and distortion sorted. But as funds are low, I wanted sommet to i can still have my bass coming through then i can get my pedals and just have a bit of gain over the top.
