  1. Can i plug into these at the same time? I use guitar pedals for my distortion, they have a mix knob on them to keep most of the signal, but i still don't get as much of the bass signal through as i'd like, so... I was going to get a Y splitter box or an AB Y box, to go straight into my amp AND go through the distortion pedals then into my amp. Will this work or am i just dreaming of cheap and cheerful ways to solve my problems? Cheers. Dan.
  2. Cheers for advice! I just don't think the Orange is right for my bands sound. As much as i love it! but i am going off the AD200B's EQ. AND, Fender 2009 Jazz, as good as they might be, i just reckon people are after the older stuff? just my thought.
  3. I used to have an Ampeg Fridge... I mean an ACTUAL fridge! haha it broke though And yeah, the Orange cabs sound better than any i have tried. If you can keep them at head hight... If not, because they are soo deep front to back, they sound a mess. i'm a sucker for matching things though, Orange head, Orange cabs... Marshall head, marshall Cab... I'm just not a huge fan of the EQ anymore on the orange amp, Every band i hear that i like the sound, It's an ampeg... Start buying again people and get this Orange off me! so i can have my ampeg :-)
  4. I have seen a few Ampegs Classic heads and 8x10 cabs on ebay go dirt cheap (different bids, but like 800 quid if you won em both!) but i'm too skint to get one before i sell my Orange AD200B with OBC 4x10 and OBC 1x15. This amp is impossible to sell! Only reason i am sellin it is that it's not right for my band. sounds ace though. Also, i wanna try the Marshall VBA, seen them heads goin for 400 quid! I'm well gutted!
  5. IMO, i think all full valve bass amps sound like vintage things... it's when you get solid state out put power or pre amp they sound modern... though there are a few solid state things knockin' about that sound like they are full of tubes! My Orange head sounds vintage, it's brand new! Gotter get them valves workin hard!
  6. Right, Not played through my Orange for 2 or 3 weeks... and i dunno what it is... but the sound of it has changed. It sounds better than gods bass amp now! But, Our guitarist has a Trace Elliot V8. Cant wait to play it/steal it...
  7. Not read what everyones put so sorry if I'm just echoing this... But you know the DI boxes you can put in between the amp and cab? Any good? I play through an Orange AD200B and it has no DI out... soooo, i heard about these DI boxes, so i can have my amp sound goin' through the desk if i cant have a mic on me cab. Cheers, Dan.
  8. Your welcome to come try my Orange... You'll cry when you hear it. It sounds ace. Sadly, not the sound I'm after with my band, I'd happily swap it for a VBA400. And i'd agree with you on the SVT II pro, Not my cup of tea them.
  9. Alreet everyone! And cheers James! Glad yer like!
  10. I wouldn't trust them behringer ones, I tried 2 of them... they struggled to get the low E and sometimes A, So i didn't even wanna try it at a gig... Just remember, you get what you pay for... cheap parts will cut your signal down. save n get the korg one, or the boss... IMO anyway...
  11. The boss delay pedal does it... Quite a few pedals really... Loop station being the main one. Just do a search on them! pretty much all of em should be fine for bass! long as the aint chepo nasty things!
