1.
Very tempting....
New toy for the Bank Holiday weekend maybe?
These are great basses and despite being active, still have that essence of the classic Jazz sound (but on steroids). GLWTS!
Thanks
  2. It's this one, I couldn't resist even though it's a stupid amount of money to spend on a scratchplate, I'm guessing it will take 3-4 weeks to turn up.
  3. Me neither, I'm after a SD Antiquity 2 pickup for my Precision and it's more than double the price of buying one from the US on Ebay, even after paying VAT and import duty it would be a darn sight cheaper from America, it doesn't make sense!

  5. Have you tried contacting Rosetti? they are listed on the sales page of the SD website. 6. I picked this bridge up on ebay very cheaply a couple of years ago for a project I'm still intending to put together.
  7.
Wow that's given me some serious gas
Sorry about that
  8.
N..yes. Yes, per screw.
I'll take two dozen please.

  10.
If it will make you feel better, I could sell you some genuine screws for the scratchplate. £350 (p&p not included).
is that price per screw?
  11. I'm not an expert but if it were me I'd wire in the PBXN with the existing Cap on the tone pot, it will give you a good idea of how the modification has changed the core tone of the bass. If you decide to do a Cap change at the same time PIO ones like this seem to have a slightly nicer tone to them, I have them in a couple of basses.
  12. Found them! Here
  13. Isn't there someone on here (apart from Bass Doc) who make bespoke scratchplates?
  14.
Never mind the quality, feel the thickness.
15. Well I sold my 1976 P basses recently and being a tad flush I decided to be a bit extravagant by ordering a Celluloid scratch plate from the US for this! if I get stung for VAT and duty it will be the most expensive part of the bass I'm also keen to get a SD Antiquity pickup but that might have to wait. J dilemma
Cool! And what are the advantages?
For me I find it's more usable than the the standard ones fitted to most Jazz basses, it's not going to change the tone of your bass when it's dialled out but add a little, say 30% and it takes away some of the top end without it going muddy. I have no understanding of the science so I can't explain why it's a bit better than a ceramic Cap.

    J dilemma

I have these in a couple of my basses.

Maybe change the Cap on the tone pot for a nice Paper In Oil one and roll a little of that in an see if it takes the edge off, it's cheap to do so not a lot to loose.
  19. Apart from all the other things that are horrible on this bass, why is the scratch plate about 12mm thick!
  20.
Ah thats a shame, i need a midi output. GLWtS.
Thanks
  21.
There is just 1 jack and a USB-B connection on this model?
Yes, just a single Jack socket and a single USB socket, the square type like you get on a printer.
  22. I was playing along to Message In A Bottle last week, simple but fun. The last time I tried Roxanne my timing was all over the place! must give it another go.
  23. Report back once you have it fitted
  24.
Forgive my pedantry, but isn't that an i2M? Bonus being I think it works on bass and guitar. GLWTS
You are absolutely right, I had to check the manual to confirm it! Thank you very much for pointing that out, I've edited the listing.
