1. I bought this as a whole bass secondhand back in the late 80's and over the years swopped and changed necks and pick ups. It's a quality Japanese body idea for projects. I've decided I have made my last bitsa bass so I'm slowly selling of all the parts I have collected over the years to fund buying a 5 string fretless. If you have any questions or need any more pics let me know. £150 delivered by Parcelforce. Cheers R. body looks a little bit darker and warmer then it appears in this picture.
 2. MIM Fender tortoise shell scratch plate, it's brand new and still has the protective film on it and the original packaging, I bought this to go on a CIJ body and it didn't fit (the holes are in a different place) so it's up for sale. £16 posted. Badass 2 bridge with screws, I have had this for donkeys years and it has served me very well but is now surplus to requirements, it does have a few scrathes where the blocks slide up and down. £30 posted - SOLD Cheers R. 3. I have had these in a bitsa Jazz bass for a few years now but I have decided to only have one Jazz at a time so I'm getting rid of lots of stuff. there is a little bit of string wear on the casings that can be seen in the pics. Now £60 posted including the screws, plate, pots, socket and knobs (or I have 3 new pots, a socket and cloth covered wire if you prefer) Cheers R. 17.
how hard is it to defret a bass?
Not too hard but you have to be careful because the barbed bit's that hold the frets in place can rip the wood of the fingerboard, oh and you may need a new nut or file the old one a little. as umph says take your time. R.
 18.
I needed one for mine and used brass from a hobby shop - looks and works fine.
That's good to hear, BB is kindly sending me some brass so I should be hum free in the near future. Thanks chaps. R.
 19.
I've seen them on very old J basses - remember there was a huge cover over the bridge/pup (plus mutes) so it wasn't visible. I guess it was easier than drilling an awkward hole and Leo was always trying to speed things up in the factory.... BB
Good point, I hadn't thought about the old bridge covers.
