1. Cheers Chaps, it's all very helpful info.

I might take a trip to the Gallery or maybe to GAK in Brighton who have a couple of Perceptions on their web site so I guess they have them in the shop.

    I wouldn't want a neck wider then a Stingray 5.

The Perception at The Gallery has dot markers and a different bridge to the new ones.

    Regards R.

  2. Hi Rich, No need to apolgise as I'm interested to hear all points of view and I'll have to try one out myself before making a final decision. I kinda like the idea of smaller bodied basses I play a MM Sterling instead of a Stingray for the smaller body and Jazz Bass like profile of the neck.

  3. Hello,

I'm GASing for a another bass and really like the look of Overwater basses especially the Perception 5 string and wondered if anyone had one they would like to share their thoughts on, I'd also love to hear some sound clips to.

    Cheers R.

  4. Hi Chris Thanks for the enquiry, I'm really not happy with sending this amp and I will hold out for a sale where I can meet up with the buyer or they collect it. If your friend was very keen on the amp I could always meet him at St Pancras where the Eurostar teminates with it :)

    Regards R.

  5. Hi,

I have a Sterling single H with a maple neck and light gauge strings on it, it's lightweight and easy to play with the lowest action I have had on any bass, it has quite a bright punchy sound. On the other hand my SR5 has a rosewood neck and what I think are the original medium gauge strings, it sound deep, dark and lovely.

Not sure if that's any help any.

  6. I bought this from someone (his name escapes me) on Basschat last year and have used it to rehearse with about 6 times but as the band I was in has now split and I'm back to being a spare room bassist this just isn't getting used.

    It's in as new condition.

    £300.00

Pick up only from South London due to it's weight and fragile valves.

Note: I will be in the West Midlands From 30th October to the 2nd November and could take the head with me if traveling to London was putting anyone off.

I would consider trading this for a Mark Bass head or a decent lined fretless 5 string such as a Lakland 55 or MM Stingray (+cash from me obviously)

    Cheers R.

  7. I have almost given up building bitsa jazz basses, well I have restricted it to just one! so I have a few odds and sods to sell on.

    1. One Jazz Bass pick-up from an 80's Tokai Jazz Sound Bass, excellent condition - £7.50 posted.

    2. One Precision Bass pick-up - I thought this was a SD Quarter Pounder but have since been given info (thanks Mr.Foxen) that proves it's not a QP, excellent as new condition - £10.00 posted.

    3. 3x good quality chrome knobs - £7.50 posted.

    4. One tarinshed Fender style brass neck plate with 4 screws, this probably dates from the 70's as it was on a Jazz I bought in the mid 80's that was pretty old when I purchased it - send me a suitably stamped addressed envelope and it's yours.

The above all include Royal Mail 1st class postage.

    Cheers

    R.
