I happened to pass by Rough Trade East on Saturday morning and couldn't believe the size of the queue! here's a few phone pics of it, you'd have to pay me good money to wait in that.

I used my new MIJ Mustang at rehearsal last night. Sounded great though a couple of buts. First I need to get some Ultralite tuners as it was dragging a bit on my shoulder towards the end. Second I really need to put some hours in on the thinner neck, on the more complicated parts of songs my fingers were falling over each other. For years I’ve played Precisions so am used to the wider necks, just got to get used to it which means hours & hours of playing - not a bad thing at all imo.
If you do change the tuners for Ultralites, I could be interested in the JMJ ones for my Squier if you were to move them on. I do have a soft spot for lollipop tuners.

Owned by me from new and has served me very well over the years, I'm only changing it as I find myself needing a separate volume control for the headphone socket.
It's in great condition, the sale is for the unit only, no box, cables, manuals....
£38.00£35.00 including delivery to mainland UKIf there's no interest I'll stick it up on eBay on Sunday.

Picked this B stock Andertons own brand Strat up just before Christmas as it was an easy way to get a white body for a project guitar but I'm having second thoughts as it's rather good! I find myself playing it more than any of my more expensive guitars.
I'll change the strings and put some Lemon Oil on the rather dry (12" radius) fretboard and live with it as is for now.
Amazing what you can find for little money these days.
Excuse the window reflections in the main head on pic.

I picked up a pearloid scratchplate for my Squier Classic Vibe Mustang and whilst fitting it this afternoon I found this mess under the pickup! Silicone sealer holding what appears to be a magnet or plate and some bolts for the mounting screws, I can't seem to find a picture of the underside o f the standard pickup but I'm pretty sure the bolts and plate are additions? I'm not too fussed as the bass sounds very good indeed, I just re-soldered a couple of bits and put it back together for now.

Forgive my slight hijacking of this thread but my question is vaguely connected ☺️
Does anyone know if a Fender Vintera Mustang pickguard will fit my Squier CV? I believe they both have the smaller pickups?
Thanks
R.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here before but Tokyo Dawn Labs have a few quality freeware VST's, I find the Nova dynamic eq and VOS SlickEQ extremely useful, I've just downloaded the two compressor, one is meant to be very transparent the other add harmonics, no sign-up needed it's a direct download.
Scroll to the bottom for the free stuff.

A very nice, free Spring Reverb from 'Klanghelm'. It's a direct download, no email address or sign up required. Also, not a download manager in sight.
👍
Thanks for the heads up, I've just downloaded their free saturation plugin IVGI and I'll give it a try later.

Howdy it’s a CIJ from 94 and finish has been stripped by a previous owner. Tone pot didn’t work when I got it. It’s at guitar tech to be fixed and neck back stripped and oiled
Then I’m going to put a white pickguard on it with wooden thumb rest - wooden tele-style knobs and set up with La Bellas 760MUS
Thanks for replying, I like it 😎

Sorry I'm not in need of a Mustang case but could you tell me more about your bass as I don't think I've seen one in that finish before, what model is it please?
Good luck with your sale.

I like it....... in small doses, very 90's fusion.

Very sturdy but tiny bass amp head, it's rated at 20w but isn't particularly loud through an 8ohm speaker, I mostly used it as a bedroom practice amp with headphones, it would probably be a whole lot louder through an 4ohm cab, sounds good with guitar as well and the built in chorus is handy.
It's in good shape but things to note, I removed the rubber feet from the bottom and added Velcro so I could put it on my guitar's pedal board, there's a small mark on the top left hand back corner, there's also some Velcro on the power supply.
You can find more details and reviews by looking it up on Amazon.

Taking it to a charity shop if it doesn't go soon, apparently I have too much stuff cluttering up the spare room 🙄

It is green but in some light looks blue ☺️

Bit of a rubbish picture but it shows I'm back owning a short scale again 🙂 no going back this time! I got this messed about with Squier CV Mustang in a trade, I can get a really nice recorded sound with the tone rolled off a bit and it plays really well so I'm more than happy, if only it was white 😄

Off to see Larkin Poe at the Roundhouse tonight, I'm a bit knackered as I was at Lloyd Cole's Union Chapel gig last night and I saw Level 42 play Fairfields Hall in Croydon on Thursday 💤

I recently got a Squier Classic Vibe Mustang in a trade for a Precision, it has round wounds on it but I fully expected it to be a dull thumper, it's nothing of the sort! I love the recorded tone of them, according to the guy I got the bass from the standard pickups have been wax potted, I have no idea if that changes the tone but thought it was worth mentioning.

Noticed that at last nights gig in Croydon but couldn't work out what it was 👍
Maybe he uses it as an expensive DI?
