And the EBS Valve Drive DI is powered with just 9V DC!

Absolutely nothing to do with what kind of plate voltage the tubes in these units operate at, a lot of pedals, including this, ramps the voltage up or down internally depending on what the different components need to operate properly, as long as there is enough ampere to do so.

Also preamp tubes works fine with so called starved plate voltage, they just work a little differently, not worse, when fed with less plate voltage than what they were originally designed to run optimally at (optimally here means distorting and coloring as little as possible, since that was pretty much unwanted artifacts in the original tube powered units these tubes were used in).

Thank you for that information, much appreciated.

  2. Shameless self promotion I know but I have a nice Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster neck for sale in the 'Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale' section that might make your Project Tele more playable? There is also a good looking cheap red Stratocaster copy in the same section ( that has nothing to do with me 🙂 ) that might be worth a punt st £50, I was tempted with that myself!

  3. Had to empty the loft to have the flue checked and found this, gawd knows how long it's been up there but looks like it's never been used.

A few marked here and there from being shunted about the loft and the felt that the Velcro sticks to could do with looking at as it's a bit loose in a couple of places.

Comes with a strip of Velcro

£20.00 £15.00 Collected from Sydenham in SE London or possibly meet up at a Central London station.

  4. I recently sold my old Art Tube Mic Pre, over the years I've used it with both bass and guitar and you can get a bit of tube warmth and even over drive it a bit, I'll probably regret selling the thing but at the moment I don't have a use for it, they are only 12v AC so nothing like a proper tube amp but cheap enough to consider giving one a try.

  5. Sorting out the loft and I found this vacuum sealer I used to use for air tight storage of hops back when I did home brewing, it's of no use to me now.

Worked the last time it was used, comes with a couple of rolls of part used 'bags'.

Free collected from Sydenham in SE London or I can send it via Yodel if you pay the postage.

  6. The parts clear out continues, I can't see me using this neck any time soon so it may as well go to a new home.

I don't pay much attention to some of the feedback.  I ,research, ponder, and then purchase.

Having owned a 65 Epiphone Newport bass which I traded for a 1969 Gibson EB3 slot head (which I still own) back in 1970, I have waited sometime for a reissue. There was lots of stuff on tinternet but I purchased one of the early batches. The bass is a pleasure to play ,has a comfortable weight and balances nicely on strap or knee. I rewired the phase of the bridge Pup and replaced the stock neck Pup with an Artec EBC4 Mudbucker. The result is a fantastically flexible bass which is capable of handling a wide range of musical needs.

Super slim neck,  easy fretboard radius and huge power output for a passive instrument.

Yup the stock bass is pretty average but with a few tweaks and additions it can be a real brute of a bass catering from bluesy thump thro to Jack Bruce classic to Andy Frazer honk.

    Great value for money.

    Edit

I'm sure somebody from the EU or Denmark will be along shortly to knock my comments

Many thanks for the info, it sounds like a few mods would certainly be the way to go.

  8. Squier CV Jazz Bass neck in reasonable nick, I've had it on a Precision Bass body and it made a lovely pairing but I'm sticking to medium and short scale basses going forward so this is now surplus to requirements.

See picture for the condition, a few small nicks on the headstock, nut worked fine for me but I notice it isn't in pristine condition, fretboard is a nice dark one.

£135.00 Collected from Sydenham SE London or meet up at London mainline station, another fiver to post via Yodel.

  9. Capri Orange Fender made in Mexico Precision Bass body in excellent cosmetic condition, I can't see any dings but there is some damage to couple of the scratchplate mounting lugs, one had a repair from by the previous owner,  nothing terrible and obviously this is usually totally unnoticeable as it is covered by the scratchplate.

The orange isn't bright and in your face it's more subtle, hopefully this picks up in the photos.

To be clear the body is a genuine Fender, I believe it's from the Player Series. The off white/cream scratchplate is a generic one as is the bridge, the pickup is the well respected Tonerider, home made wiring with full sized pots and an old Paper In Oil capacitor.

I had this paired with a Jazz Bass neck for my ultimate Precision setup, as nice as it was I have decided to stick to medium and short scale basses going forward.

Loaded £175.00 / unloaded £150.00 - collected from Sydenham in SE London or meet up at a London mainline station, delivery via Yodel would be another fiver.

I might trade against a Squier Mustang bass or Epiphone Newport bass.

  10. I've had this for many years and used it on and off as a passable very basic headphone amp for guitar rather than a mic pre-amp but now I have a mini amp head incoming so may as well move this on.

Generally in good cosmetic condition but the bottom does have quite a few scratches and 4 Velcro dots.

The included 'wall wort' 12vac power supply is probably a generic one and not the original.

£36.00 £30.00 delivered to the UK mainland.

  11. For guitar I'm going back to using a multi-effects units so here's another pedal that needs a new home.

Such a great sounding and very useful pedal, as well as delay you can load a Toneprint, it also does looping neither of which I have tried though.

In great condition, £70.00 £60.00 delivered to the UK mainland.

As you can see the top is a bit scuffed, I bought it like that, works well though, a bomb proof classic.
