1.
I now have an EBS Neo 2x12 which I got for near enough a steal. Would love to have this as a matching cab but can't justify the purchase of a second one at the moment. Let me know if the cab doesn't sell and you decide to lower the price in future.
therealthing did you get a bargain in Luton to? I picked up a Stingray 5 there last week and and couldn't believe I had missed that Mark was also selling a 212 for a great price, I would have snapped it up to go with the one I already have - or is that just being greedy?

  2. Thanks for taking the time to reply Ian, I kinda thought it was too good to be true, I'll probably keep an eye out for something better but secondhand, I have an EBS Neo cab so it seems silly to get something substandard to drive it.
The Extreme is that solid state or does it have a valve pre-amp?

    Regards Dave

  3. Hi I read a good review in Bassplayer mag of this very powerful amp and wondered if anyone had tried one? they seem reasonably priced to, well in $$$ but I guess that will equate to £'s if you could find a UK importer.

This cab, for example, has Neo drivers which make it much lighter than most 2x10s, and it also has an outstanding sensitivity rating, meaning that for a give amp, it will produce more volume than most other cabs. The design of the cab itself also plays a part.
+1 for on that, I have a 2x12 it's very light and sounds fantastic, I'd quite like a 2x10 to go with it but that's being greedy and I need the cash for Stingray 5!

    Someone buy it now.

  5. Cheers For the info, I took the top off and it seems easy enough so I'll be shopping for a replacement valve soon.

  6.
Cheers Rumple, somehow missed your post the other day. Yes, as far as I'm aware some models had two mono jacks whilst others had one stereo. I think otherwise they were the same. Did you ever gig or record it in stereo? If so, how was it?

I did run it through two seperate channels of the same amp a few times with a chorus pedal on the high strings, it was the 80's and it seemed like a good idea at the time!

One bass I wish I had kept.

    Have fun with yours.

  7. Hi, Excellent info, just what I was looking for, I'm thinking of changing the valve in my HA3500, is it an easy thing to do?

    Any advise would be appreciated.

    Cheers R.
