Has anyone used a HX stomp, through the effects return of their amp, into a Barefaced Cabinet?
-
Pete was a gent! Great communication, super fast payment, and let my know he had received the pedal. Deal with confidence. Thanks again mate!

TC Electronic RH450 - Good condition, all original knobs present with no cracks. I will include the official TC Electronic gig bag. £250. I will post the item for £20.
TC Electronic RS212 - Good condition, only minor scratches on the paint work. I will include a fitted Hot Covers padded cover. No postage on this pick preferred from Glasgow, but I am willing to meet some one half way within a reasonable distance. £250
I also have a RS210 which I was thinking about keeping but if someone wants to buy the amp and both cabinets I would be open to it. It would come with an official TC Electronic cover. £200
I would happily sell everything in the picture for £680. Great rig at a bargain price.

I just pulled the trigger on one of these. Does anyone use an active PA speaker with theirs? If so any recommendations?

There’s huge amounts of love on here for the Helix, but I haven’t seen much about the HeadRush. Is there any users out there, or can people who went for the Helix explain why the chose the Helix over the HeadRush?
-
Hope it’s recovered mate!

What a good deal! I would imagine that it would be worth more as it has your excellent presets on it rather than the original ones? GLWTS

Just start making suggestions to the guitarist about their tone and gain staging. Then after they have played their solo suggest that you don’t think their delay settings are quite right to accurately represent the song 😂

Fairly certain you could put in Mike Stern (Yamaha Tele) & Pat Metheny (Ibanez) in this list.
From a bass player perspective Jaco & Jamerson come to mind although both careers cut short...

Taking a few guitar lessons might help, especially if it’s theory you want to learn a quality guitar tutor should be able to help with that. The other thing that usually gets me out of a rut is learning new songs, especially songs in genres I’m not used to playing.

Local Musicians wanted Facebook groups seems to be the place to find bands these days. My 2 cents is only invest time in what you are enjoying, whether that be playing to 2 people of 2,000 people...

Yeah I use an Alesis V49. I use it for virtual instruments, as it has keys and pads. It’s not the greatest MIDI keyboard out there but it’s reasonably priced and does the job.
-
Most audio interfaces you buy will come with a free basic version of a DAW. I highly recommend Mixcraft as a super easy to learn and use DAW that is very reasonably priced!

Got EZ Drummer 2 from Absolute Music for £68.
And EZ mix 2 straight from toon track for €33
Great deals!

We're a six-piece ceilidh band playing around the Aberdeen-Glasgow-Edinburgh triangle, so we're probably playing some of the same locations as you: lots of hotels, farmyard wedding venues and village halls, and the occasional tent. Two fiddles (one doubling on mandolin/banjo), acoustic guitar, bass, drums and dance caller. 2-3 vocal mics (SM58S), drum mics (SM57), and radio mic for the caller.
We have two JBL Eon 612 active main speakers, which I've been very impressed with. No subs - they kick out more than enough bass for the venues we play. They talk Bluetooth so you can tweak their built-in EQ from the dance floor if the presets aren't sufficient (we've only needed this a couple of times).
Two Alto TS210 active monitors - I'd love to go IEMs but it'd be a big investment that we can't really justify. The Altos can be used as backups for the mains, and they're also great for "can you set up a mic for the speeches?" situations.
Yamaha MG20 mixer - a neat little rackmount analogue mixer with 16 mic preamps plus a few line inputs. Good ergonomics, particularly the well-lit mute buttons. For live recordings, I'd like either channel inserts or a couple more aux sends, but it does a lot in a small space and was remarkably cheap.
Orchid DI boxes (some Muting, some Mini) for all the instruments.
We have a rack case from Thomann for the mixer (with space underneath for the radio mic receiver, spare strings, headphones, business cards etc. etc.) and another large flight case for all the cables, microphones and DI boxes. And a Homebase sale last year furnished us with several 10m Permaplug 4-way mains extensions in a highly-visible shade of bright green...
Thanks dude, I appreciate the advice!

X32 Rack, RCF 735x2 with a suitcase of XLR cables (do not skimp here, expect to pay at least £20 for a 6m XLR, preferably something like Vandamme, Klotz, Sommer - handmade, as tag machine soldered XLRs will fail), a pair of hotcovers for the cabs, a rack case for the X32, a few DIs (look at Orchid Electronics), a couple of stands, some Behringer P2 wired inear packs all for under 3k should get you quite a formidable, portable wedding rig - with the provision for stereo IEMs too!
Those tops will happily have bass and kick through them, as well as the rest of the band. No need for subs unless you stepping up to play some big venues. Just those tops will do 95% of wedding venues without a sweat.
Dont forget lots of power leads with lots of sockets on too.
You didn't mention mics, but a set of AKG Session Ones (factor in two stands for overheads) for the drums are great, as are D5s for vocals.
Thanks man, I really appreciate the advice!

Will you have a sound guy out front or operate the mix from on-stage?
Most gigs we would be mixing from on stage. However for big gigs we could sort out a FOH guy.

Sorry should have given much more detail. Budget wise is tough as it’s a start up band therefore we are treating it as a growing business. I would imagine first outlay would be between £2-3k.
Intend for the whole band to go through, 3 vocal mics, 4 drum mics, guitar DI,d through a helix, bass DI’d through a sans amp. We would also have a laptop and a Roland spd going through it too.
Would be looking for a desk as we intend to all use in ears.

Hi folks,
Im just starting a wedding band and looking at getting a PA. Can anyone give me any advice on what they use for their wedding band? The subject seems like a bit of a mine field. Thanks in advance.

Find the musicians wanted pages for your local area on Facebook.

I reckon your P bass and orange will do the trick nicely. Pino uses an Ampeg SVT when he plays with Mayer so you should be able to dial in the Orange no problem at all. Sounds like an awesome band! Good luck!
That being said if you want to go down the class D micro head route, I reckon the Genzler Magellan 800, Aguilar Tone Hammer 500, and the Mesa Subway D800 would be what I would be looking at.

I’m sure Adam Neely did a video on YouTube about this, I will try and find it for you... just looked I misremembered it’s one quadruple whole note triplets

I use a 6.0 absolutely love it! The EQ is very powerful so s little adjustments go a long way.
