1. Gonna hit this back to the top - I'm £71 away from hitting 50% of my fundraising target - any massively generous basschatters fancy helping out to help me get halfway? Go on...
2. Gonna bump this to see if there is any other kind folk who fancy dishing out a bit of cash to a worthwhile charity... Anyone else?? Would be very muh appreciated!
3. That's another fair point... there isn't a win really. Catch 22!
4. Much appreciated to you both! I'm beginning to think what the hell have I let myself in for but am committed now! Thanks chaps!
5. A point to consider for all in these situations when dealing with 'newbies'... another forum I use, most people tend to have a 'send first - pay later' rule or a 'half up front' when dealing with people who have not been on the forum very long. If you have an extensive feedback trail with a long history on the forum of positive transactions, I would have thought that this wouldn't be too much of an issue for newbies to get their head around. Clearly this is up to the individual situation, and I can't imagine anyone sending a Fodera in the hope that someone will pay for it on arrival but it would probably be something to consider for lower cost transactions with maybe the half up-front idea for most costly items. Just my 2-penneth worth I suppose. I will also add that I have also never had any issues trading on the forum and generally, I find most BC'ers are lovely chappies! Lots of them have sponsored me for my London Marathon run in April (shameless plug - see this forum) and they have never met me. Top bunch of geezers!
6. er.... if i knew it I would give it a go! In all honesty it is going to be hard enough carrying myself round 26 miles never mind a bass!
7. Thanks for all the amazing donations to date - some extremely generous people out there! Anyone else?? It's for an incredibly good cause! Whatever you can spare would be gratefully received!
8. I would have added Marmite... but you either love it or hate it! Seriously Ped, I'm pretty sure that 99.9% of BCers appreciate everything you guys do - my day wouldn't be complete without a quick browse! Keep up the excellent work.
9. Mateusz... I'm contacting him via email to see if I can get some sort of contact information... I'm indicating that I'm interested in buying but want to try it out first... If I get anything I will let you know. Carl
10. Thanks to everyone for the donations so far - everyone has been so generous!! Anyone else?? All donations are for an extremely worthy cause... Apologies for the issues with the PayPal link... there are several ways around. Cheers!!
11. That is strange... worked fine on chrome for me! Thanks roger!! Much appreciated! Keep the donations coming guys and gals!!
12. That's funny... I got EXACTLY the same email!!
13. I did reply and have an email from him - definitely looks suspicious. Have messaged Ped... will see what he says.
14.
+1 because international money transfers are way too heavy on fees
Hi guys, Thanks for your generousity in advance. It does seem that the PayPal link is not working on mobile devices for some reason... it's a PayPal thing I think - I just tried the link on my PC and it works fine... can you get to a pc to donate?? If not... I know it's not the best option, but you can PayPal gift me the money and I will add it to the site in your name... my PayPal email is [email protected] If u would like to use that option. Sorry for the issue - out of my control I'm afraid... Regards, Carl.
15.
I'm in - Good luck Carl. Presumably you're running dressed as a bass guitar??
I don't think Macmillan would go for it but I reckon it would raise a few eyebrows!! Thanks for the donation!!
16.
Paypal didn't work, donation by card payment worked fine. Good luck with the race Carl. You'll do well. Your next dep gig for me will be in Inverness next time i play there Dave
You're on mate! Not sure I get up that way often but will be happy to dep if I do!! 😆😆
17. Overwhelmed by the generousity of BCer's so far... thanks to everyone who has donated to date! Dmccombe7 Harryburke14 Keeponehandloose Plus a couple of anonymous donations as well! Thank you all so far - it is a great cause so keep 'em coming!!😀
18. Hey everyone... I need a little favour from every BC'er who has a little generous spirit! In April, I'm running the London Marathon for charity - Macmillan Cancer support to be more precise. Running 26 miles is going to be quite a challenge for a slightly tubby bass player from Norfolk country and I'm looking for all the generous spirited bass players who would be willing to spare / sponsor a few measly pounds for a very worthwhile charity - one very close to my own heart. I'm pretty sure we all know someone who has either directly or indirectly affected by Cancer and Macmillan provide essential support to those in need. Anyway - I know many of you don't know me directly but I have dealt with many kind folk here on Basschat so some of you might remember me. I'm not asking for a lot - a couple of quid, a fiver or whatever you can spare would be very much appreciated in my quest to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan. My VirginMoney just giving page is here: http://uk.virginmone...lsimmondsLM2017 I can't offer anything in return apart from my wholehearted gratitude - if I can repay the favour with a dep gig for free (travelling within reason!) then I will do my best! If you don't feel like sponsoring - I completely understand - feel free to leave a message instead!
