  1. Hold Your Head Up - Argent
  2. The Precision sounded better on all examples to me. I like Stingrays but only when they're sitting in the mix a bit more - solo they sound a bit like a duck.
  3. Why's that?
  4. Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is? - Chicago
  5. The Small Hours - Holocaust
  6. I'm So Tired - Los Paranoias
  7. Dog-Like Sparky - Cardiacs
  8. I saw QOTSA support the Foos at the Stratford Rex of all places, around the Rated R era. My main memory of them is Nick Oliveri playing a see-through Ampeg bass. I've never been a big fan but the Mrs likes them. Anyway, getting slightly back on topic, my former cover band had No One Knows in their set when I joined, but didn't think it necessary to drop tune to C. It sounded terrible and I refused to play it without tuning down.
  9. The German Guns - Baldrick
  10. That's no guilty pleasure, Marina is incredible!
  11. That Never Say Die concert is hilarious. Standard tuning but playing the riffs in the same position - so, on record, Symptom of The Universe riff is in E but played in C# tuning but suddenly jumps up to G in standard. Ozzy looks like he's going to give himself a hernia. I always thought Geezer's tuning matched Iommi's though...
  12. Charlie Don't Surf - The Workhorse Movement
  13. Carouselambra - Led Zep
  14. If ever a bass was meant to be fretless, it's that Pro!
  15. Hang 'em High - Sons of Merrick
  16. Oh, that was a glorious bass! I was never too keen on the baby sick finish but that neck was something else! It had a really distinct stripe to it as well, you don't see that often. Haven't got it anymore 🥺
  17. Don't Speak - No Doubt
  18. Tears - Rush (or Ken Dodd)
  19. Your fireplace defeats my fireplace.
  20. Thanks to @Paul S, this joyous old thing - weighs hardly anything and it's just lightning fast to play. It's my favourite to play unplugged but amplified it's a Rickenbacker/Precision hybrid - aggressive clank with a warm and full midrange.
  21. Ride On A Pony - Free
  22. Living In The Plastic Age - The Buggles
  23. I'd love to hear a decent isolated track of The Real Me, the one on Youtube sounds like it's being played on a gramophone.
